    I have oily skin and people say we shouldn't use squirrel hair brush bc of that skin type. What's your take on this? :/

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  4 роки тому +2

      Nguyen Nguyen Sorry for the late reply. I usually use squirrel for blush and finishing because I don't want the hairs to get tacky, drag, and break but everyone is different. Some people are ok with it and will just repurchase later down the line. Here's a useful FAQ: old.reddit.com/r/Fude/comments/6a33kd/fude_faq/

    Never had a desire to purchase the Suqqu Cheek brush b/c it always seemed a bit too small to apply blush....at least for me. This brush almost seems equivalent to the Chikuhodo Z-4 which, in my opinion, is also bit too small for blush. I’ve decided that I simply prefer a slightly larger blush brush for a more blown-out look and actually DO enjoy the Chikuhodo Z-8 for that purpose.👍🏻

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  4 роки тому

      @L Gempet People do like the Z-8 for blush when they find that the Z-4 is too small for them! I like targeted blush most of the time so it's perfect for that. Once in a blue moon I like blush applied in a larger surface area that's diffused. Thanks for sharing!

    I got the chikuhodo BP-9 (60mm saikodo paddle) and was thinking about purchasing chikuhodo T-1. But apparently T-1 is rougher than normal saikodo. Maybe it's because of the shape, or maybe it's just made of lower quality saikoho.

    I am very meh about the chikuhodo Z-4. I use it for powder but will try to use it for highlight and blush instead. I prefer smaller brushes which is why I picked it up, but something about it just doesn’t work for me. It don’t find it spreading powder all that well, and it also doesn’t blend all that well. I find myself having to constantly pick up powder just to set my under eyes.

    Great video! I’m always interested in hearing about brushes. I also have the WG 2017 Holiday. The reason the brush picks up little product is to allow the slow buildup overly pigmented blushes (which I have a few of). It lightly lays down intense colors. Although I don’t use the brush very often, in my opinion, it does what it’s intended to do very nicely...

    Im surprised how rough the t1 is too. I never reach for it. Agree the wg holiday one is so airy.. for people that just want a super light wash of color. The TF 13 though is holy grail status for me! Wish id bought more before they went synthetic.

    Also, I believe Tom Ford's natural bristles are a thing of the past, if it helps you decide. In the US at least, I've noticed different brushes slowly disappearing from various sites. Beautylish and Saks still have a good variety.

    I have a love hate relationship with WG 2017 Holliday brush. I love how airy it is and combined with the squirrel hair means I never have to worry about it moving my base. I love to use it with bronzers to get a sheer wash of color to add warmth and dimension to the fact. However, the angled flat top makes it really directional sometimes with bronzer that are really pigmented (HG luminous bronze light) and it just deposit the color and won't to blend it out smoothly. I wish they would come out with another version that is just as airy but with a domed head or even a flat head. I would buy it in a heart beat and buff my face with meteorites until the cows come home.

    CAN I suggest you a way( hard but practical) to soften your brushes? I don't have options to buy good japanese brushes in my country, so the ones I can buy can be scratchy , so I sit in front my lamp, with a tweezer, and I removed the hairs that are badly cut, or more thick hairs, from the root of the ferrule. I TAKE my time, put on a good video, and the brushes I fix can be use on my sensitive eyelids. I saw a video of japanese brushes being made by hand, and the person selected with tweezer the bad hair before finish the brush.
    It is a time consuming task, but I get to keep my brushes, and use them all.

    Love your channel! I think it is so interesting how much personal preference comes into play with makeup brushes. I thought I'd share I'm approaching 40, with oily skin in the summer and combo the rest of the year. I like the T-1, Z-2 (I own 2) and Z-8. I bought the Wayne Goss Holiday brush to use when I wear heavier eye makeup with a bold lip, to apply just a hint of blush. It works perfectly for that (I own 2). The Wayne Goss 13 is too dense for me to use with blush (I have a lot of scarring on my cheeks from cystic acne, and it pushes my base around). I found I like using the 13 to blend my foundation and concealor (which I apply/place with my fingers).

    Would you recommend a blush brush for a smaller cheek area (small face) and also one that would work for skin that is aging. For instance: cheeks that appear plump as you smile, but fall flat when not smiling. Please... amazing videos, always!!! I often use fingers for Milani blush and I cannot buff any powder blush. Why is that???

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  5 років тому +1

      Alma Toledo There are a variety of small blush brushes. For sensitive aging/mature skin and if you have sensitive skin, I recommend squirrel hair. The Suqqu Cheek, Chikuhodo RC-2, and Chikuhodo Z-4 are some great blush brushes on the smaller side. The Suqqu Cheek is the smallest out of the three. I have never used Milani blush with my fingers!

    • @FudeKyun

      Alma Toledo If your skin can handle goat hair, I would recommend the Tanseido YWC 14. It's marketed as a highlight brush but is a good size for small cheeks/targeted areas. It's also quite soft! You can swirl the brush into the blush and buff it into your skin. Other options would be the Koyudo Mizume Zakura blush brush and the Chikuhodo T-4, but they are a bit larger.

    I have to disagree with Suqqu cheek and Tom Ford blending. I have a ton of blending brushes and the Tom Ford beats out my Mac 217, Wayne Goss, Sonia G, other blenders. It blows out color or blends it out, depending on pressure, and it fits in my very hooded socket perfectly. It’s my favorite blender.
    As for the cheek brush, it picks up color and deposits it in a soft way and has no pigment left after use. I can therefore use it for blush and powder and highlight. Sometimes I use it for contour as well if it’s already in my hand. It’s perfect for building up color and best used in patting motion, rather than sweeping motion.
