Thank you so much for posting these 3 wonderful videos of this concert! I absolutely loved listening to these! Also-the picture of Joan in the beautiful green gown with the different colored lighting was a great choice! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Amaaaaazingggg🎉
The Sonnambula a joy to hear so late in her career and sung with such elan. Interesting no cadenza between the two verses of the cabaletta - did she forget it? Thanks so much for giving us so much pleasure and reawakening glorious memories!! That final high note pure heaven.
Amazing to hear her singing Amina's music so late in career! Thank you! This is probably one of her last performances of Ah! non giunge in the original key.
In fact she sang this scena in 1988 at the UN in what sounds like the original key but nowhere near as well as here. A different cadenza was there but altered to avoid the Eflat too.
@@ahogbin2644 Yes, I believe the the U.N. performance was in the original key...but in that performance the Eb and D natural, heard here, were left off. This is likely one of the last performances of Ah, non giunge that still included both.
@@joshuamcpherson007 She still sang a top D in 1989 at a concert - the cadenza added to the cabaletta of the big Masnadieri scena. She almost blew the top off the theatre!!
How wonderful, what a vocal form... I am always amazed by the miracle she represented, but her consistency It's almost logical... And in November of that year she would return with Esclarmonde! Indeed, a gift from God! I love her ❤️
10:31 thank you so much. A document for us. Brava Sutherland.
Merci !!!!
Огромное спасибо !
