      @NekonataVirino Рік тому

      @@darahandmadeau - still a terrible idea - safety ideas don’t change depending on what part of the world you are from. You are basically bringing a razor blade towards your stomach with pressure - if it skips its your body that will bleed copiously - nothing western or not western about how blades interact with flesh.

    • @darahandmadeau
      @darahandmadeau  Рік тому +15

      @@NekonataVirino it is safer that way for me because if I tried it the other way, it would slip out of my control.And the Western way of peeling fruit with a knife is towards your body while I do it away from the body. So yes just pointing out there is a difference, and I’m not questioning it, neither am I telling everyone to cut the way I do.

      It’s the distance between the line where you sew and the edge of the fabric. If the seam allowance is too small and the fabric ends up fraying then your stitches will become undone. If you do a quick google search it’ll show you the image which might explain better x

    • @darahandmadeau
      @darahandmadeau  2 роки тому +3

      It’s enough for me and my customer base. I’ve got thin Asian hair. Also I sell in Australia and my feedbacks so far have been good. If I did 10” then it’d wrap around the hair 3, 4 times and that might ruin the look of the scrunchy. But it’s good to know some have thicker hair and require more.

      How big? Besides 30” being equivalent to ~76cm rather than 75cm, I think they’re quite accurate?

    You should never cut backwards with a Rotary Cutter...Always away from you! I like the Burrito style of sewing them as you don't see the seam so much, and not this way...

      Thanks for the feedback. Cutting forward doesn’t seem to work for me, therefore I feel like it’s more dangerous (for me). I have covered the burrito method in another video, and also demonstrated the ladder stitch to hide the seams completely.

    Yes! Move the rotary cutter AWAY from you!
