Barangay tanods not allowed to carry firearms on duty: DILG

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Thursday said barangay tanods (village watchmen) and other members of so-called “police auxiliary units” (PAU) are not allowed under the law to carry firearms in the performance of their official duties and functions.
