    1st thing to do is building multiple sources of income and large amount of it before even thinking about investing, otherwise you might be paranoid if it goes up/ down and could affect your mental. Especially during these gambling parlor of a stock market. Real estate is ok I think tho

      You don't have to invest so much to get a decent retirement account.
      Better to have a small retirement account than none at all.
      I agree that multiple sources of income is ideal, but just like having 3 months of savings, having something to fall back on is always a good idea.
      You may plan on being a millionaire early, but life happens. You may not get there, and you should have a backup.

    Sean, I only followed a few real estate investor and you're one of the few.
    I can see the potential of getting rich in real estate and few facts shows that it can also fail and when it does its gonna be a hard one.
    I've seen almost the basics and inspiration a real investor wants me to see.
    Now, I want to know what are the things I need to prepare when venturing out in real estate. Specially during this economy that there are houses that are vacant due to inflation/recession or various reason.
    If you own 5 rental properties and 3 is already been 3-4 months vacant with a monthly amortization of $1,000. What will you do and what have you prepared for times like this ?

      Hey! We like to have a good amount of cash reserves because things like this do happen. We've had several properties that take 7 months of renovations before they're ready to be rented out. During that time, we are spending money on the mortgage, insurance, property taxes, and repairs to boot. Unexpected things do happen and you just need to prepare yourself for them. But I don't want to wait 30 years so that's why I started my own business and am investing in income producing real estate. The ultra rich do not use the stock market for building wealth. They use it for wealth preservation and to generate some sort of a current income. If you really want to build wealth, learn as many specialized skills, trades, and professions as you can and start legitimate businesses and invest in real estate.

    • @seanlovesrealestate
      @seanlovesrealestate  Рік тому +2

      Thanks! Investing is when you use your money to buy something, expecting it will make more money later. Think of it like planting seeds in a garden. The seeds can grow into big plants that give you vegetables or flowers. In the same way, you can invest in things like stocks, real estate, or businesses. These are like your seeds. Over time, they might grow and give you more money. But, just like seeds might not always grow, investments can be risky too. Hope this helps.

    Thank you for your video. I struggle with understanding whether my index fund investment is making compound interest. Can you please explain if there is anything I need to do ensure it is compounding (such as some setting to ensure any gains are reinvested into more shares of the mutual fund)? Looking at my Vanguard 500 Index fund, it looks like it has grown over the last 10 years, in line with the growth in the overall stock market. However, do I understand correctly that if the stock market crashed and the price of the Vanguard 500 Index fund went back to the price 10 years ago, then my total money in the fund would be exactly the same as 10 years ago? My account only shows that I am getting capital gains each year as the stock market grows, but it shows $0 for dividend/interest each year, and it doesn't show anything being reinvested each year. Thus, I worry that my mutual fund is not compounding and would like to request your guidance on how to ensure it compounds going forward.
