- Citroen has unveiled the new made-in-India mid-size SUV, called the C3 Aircross in the Indian market. Based on the elongated CMP platform, the Citroen C3 Aircross will come in 5 and 7-seat layout. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, VW Taigun and others. We expect the new C3 Aircross will be priced in the range of Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.

Pricing batter hui toh Hume IRVM & AC manually control karne me koi dikkat nhi (experience se bol rha hun, itne features enough hain......i20 Asta(O) hai mere pass, saara features kabhi use nhi Kia)

Citroen c3 is a good car with real good hardware (suspension, dirving dynamics and decent build quality). Firstly one needs to decide if he wants a car on 4 wheels with good driving dynamics and mechanics or a computer on 4 wheels. C3 aircross will probably live up to the hardware and driving dynamics as the c3 hatchback.
Im happy the top end wont come with a damn sunroof. Because i have had to avoid top end vehicles due to the forced sunroof option on them from other manufacturers. Infact good even on the fronx top end there is no sunroof.
Sunroof has enough hassles.
1 excessive heat build up in summer and exposed parking lots.
2 leaking issues with rubber seals getting hard over time
3 faulty motors. If motor/fuse fails to close on a road trip and there is no service centre and it starts to rain your screwed.
4 driving on mountain terrain and with even minor land slide with small stones(pebbles) falling could damage glass
5 extra weight of 40 to 50 kgs of sunroof unit on the roof...changes the centre of gravity of the car...this effects cornering at speed on twisty roads.
6 questionable roof structural integrity and rigidity (strength). If im correct even the fortuner doesnt come with a sunroof and toyota isnt stupid for sure.
C3.aircross i feel will be good driving pleausre and ride quality like the c3. Lets c. Those who want features then u have sonet and venue and xuv 300, nexon, kushaq, taigun, seltos,creta at higher prices.
Insiders say the starting c3 aircross will be close to 9.67 ex showroom mumbai. Shine may go to 11 and add another 1.5lac OTR mumbai so 12.5 13lacs for top end makes more sense considering the space, ground clearance, driving smoothness(engine same as c3), suspension over cars even a segment below like fronx,nexon, xuv 300, venue , sonet
And offcourse competition to segment above like astor,seltos, creta.
BUT, Not sure why the reviewer was calling everything a big miss....USB type C vs type A!! drum brakes in the rear a miss !!!! Seems very skewed impression of the car.... without an understanding of pricing...etc. ... eventually you would get what you pay for....

if the top end varient is like 11 lakhs then sure it’s a good option considering the space and comfort of a french car.. but duster had the same problem.. it was too raw although offering much better engine option.. the suspension tuning, ride and performance of that SUV is still unmatched.. but nobody bought that car once creta launched in that segment.. duster was the most VFM car for it’s segment but it was lacking so many necessary and some ott features that eventually renault has to discontinue that car.. I hope. the same doesn’t happen with C3 aircross and they eventually come up with better features and an automatic..
People are paying 28-30L for a mahindra and Tata these days so Indians can spend alot of money on cars now.. Only thing is you should deliver a great product..

In my honest opinion, global companies should be told to give us the kind of quality they give outside India. The competition is fierce, and the only way a brand can survive today is by selling quality products. Criticism is very very important.

Seeing Citroen’s past track record of pricing their vehicles, I don’t think they’ll be able to undercut its rivals. If they do that, which they should considering the features/quality on offer, I’ll be the first one to speak in its favour.

After watching ICN studios EC3 review, I anyway bought EC3. I only miss auto ORVM. Rest I love it. I don't miss any other features he mentioned in the EC3. Moral of the story is do not believe what all youtuber says. Just buy a car which fulfills your requirements

Also, given the ample pointers from you about cost-cutting in interior materials used and overall build, please do let us know if the engine sound damping is given attention to and how is the cabin NVH level, especially with a smaller engine that would make a lot of noise when revved harder.

It’s not just the engine, though that too is a crucial aspect in the compact SUV space, but overall offering - features, quality etc. Top selling cars of this segment offer tons of features.

Type c “a big miss” - what are you talking about ;;global version is far more costly than this one so it’s definitely going to be premium;;;;if a top model comes at 12-13 ex showroom price it’s going to be a better choice than a entry level compact suvs.
Do you think, they’ll be able to price it at Rs 12 lacs. Even the C3 hatch’s top end costs Rs 9 lacs, and the eC3’s top trim costs around Rs 13 lacs.

French carmakers need to stop reading duster success case studies. It worked cause it created a new segment. Only potential Triber/Bolero buyers may consider it or the ones who seriously need big boot space.

Not sure why this is being called creta rival. The car must be aiming at tier 2 cities that’s looking for value for money products. Personally, auto AC is overrated feature. Also, a budget car buyer is not looking at plastic quality. Feel this car might be targeted to large families whom ertiga is winning over!
Indian Vendors don't take there work seriously and the result is that any manufacturer in India is not able to create what he would like to do at a certain cost.

This model is designed to compete only and only with Renault Triber. Citroen has very well understood Indian market that people here want a 7 seater car with less investment. Datsun did this same trick, Renault mastered it with its punny 1 ltr engine and now Citroen is over confidently trying to be there.

India is a price sensitive market. Citroen is targeting middle class buyers who would normally go for Nexon or sonet. These people will now get to buy a larger car of a higher segment that looks good but has very basic functions. For me the only big miss is the engine. Should have had a 1.5 liter turbo for its size. If it's aggressively priced, this will succeed.
When you accept 103/138 engine of GV/ HyR then why not the 120/190 engine in C3? Selective attitude of indians
