    DLH knows the deal. His videos are on point. He probably diagnosed the issue(s).

    I have a Massey HD2650 it’s a smaller tractor then your. I purchased my used and it’s a 2010 year model and had roughly 300 hours on it. Bottom line the clutch went out at 400 hours. I use this tractor to ted and rake hay. I do use it to load hay with. When the clutch went I was loading and stacking round bales in the barn 4x4 bales no more then 650 lbs bales. During the replacement I went to the dealership and looked at the old clutch and the disk was literally trash the pressure plate had springs missing and the fiber material on the disks was just eaten up and mostly gone. I wasn’t hard on the tractor and it just didn’t make any sense to me that the clutch was trashed. The mechanic doing the work state by being use we don’t know how abusive the other(s) owners were. This model is a 74 HP with a Perkins engine the clutch looked to be about 9 to 10 inch clutch. The mechanic told me if I felt the clutch slipping to stop using the tractor until the clutch got readjusted. If I were you I would have a dealership mechanic check it out and save yourself the cost of clutch replacement and down time of the tractor. Good luck

    I been watching serval different people that has bought the 4700 series Massey Ferguson and most of the are happy with their tractors and haven't had any issues. Only a few has complaints. I heard the same about the others John Deere, New Holland, Case IH, ect. One person has brought 3 of the 4700 series and has no complaints. Hope you got it fixed. And have no more trouble

    Going to guess something needs to be recalibrated. Your dealer should have stuff on it. Maybe ask Bagwell Farms to see if he knows anything, he has a 4710. I do find it odd on why the power shuttle doesn't do it, unless it utilizes a different potentiometer or circuit due to the forward/reverse sensitivity that can be adjusted.
    You mentioned my video I did a few years ago with a dyna6 trans. Issue with mine was one it got up warmed up somewhat, putting it in reverse in any way it would jerk into gear, but forward was good. Since then have only needed to calibrate it once more about 1000 hours later. Not surprised for new machines to have clutch issues early on... think 1/2 of our machines needed to have some recalibration under warranty as parts wear in. Hope you get it fixed without too much headache, if dealership isn't helping much might have to call around to others. I'd say roederer bros in Iowa is a knowledgeable dealer.

    Calibrate the clutch pedal. Key on, depress clutch, left power shuttle, listen for beep, slowly let pedal off until beep stops, continue releasing clutch slowly until beep comes back on. With clutch fully up, release power shuttle lever and turn key off for 5 seconds. Thanks.

    On linkage arms. I had same issue. But found that if you rotate the ball joint part around, it gives more clearance.
    Also watch as there is only 8cm of thread & 4cm screw.

    I just had time to watch the whole video, yours sounds like it was doing the same as mine other than mine wasn't smooth with the reverser either randomly. Mine only done it warm also. I know there was several updates that came out since I got my tractor that help with the clutch too so it might need an update. If it turns out it does need new solenoids the tractor doesn't need to be split fortunately.

  • @DLHFarms
    @DLHFarms 4 роки тому +4

    Yeah I had trouble with mine. Mine was random sometimes it was smooth sometimes it would jerk terrible but not only would it do it with the clutch but the shuttle was doing it also. The dealership sent me instructions to calibrate the clutch but like I said it was random and would work fine most of the time so calibration didn't help. I remember that it never jerked when it was cold either it only done it when it got warm after about 30 minutes of running. The dealership finally put all new solenoids on that control the clutch, updated and calibrated everything and it's been fine since.

    Interesting, I have a 4600 and that was one of my major complaints. Took two trips to the dealer to resolve the issue by recalibration, so surely there is a similar fix for the 4700.

    Seen this issue on a 4709 we test drove. We didn't buy one as a result of it. The dealer said he wasn't able to solve the problem and wouldn't sell another one.

  • @melodyanderson468

    there is a video out there that a guy had the same problem he said turn the key to run push the foot pedal all the way down and pull the finger lever up and hold it up till it starts to buzz the very slowly release the foot petal till it stops buzzing then turn the key to off for 15 sec it will reset it and he said it work on his 4707 hope this helps

    If it's anything like a Kubota, you should be able to reprogram the clutch through the dash without tools. You just have to figure out which two buttons you need to hold down to get into the dealer menu of the dash. It should just re calibrate the modulation of the clutches. In the clutch pedal your modulating the clutch vs the computer modulating the shuttle clutch on the dash. It may be holding up the shuttle and depressing the differential lock button on the Masseys.

    What is going on w/ the rubber floor mat next to the door? Is there a clutch inspection port in the chassis housing?

    I owned 5 new Massey’s in my life and only one of them was worth a damn. Just bought a new farm and the owner has a 6 month old open station 47 series something . He offered to sell it to me and I told him to take the price off the farm and take the damn Massey with him. I was the biggest Massey fan in the world in 1998 and by 2011 I had bought and traded 4 more thinking they will get better. They never did.
