I use to get harassed ALL the time when I use to ride. I had a few ZX-10's, and I would get pulled over literally for doing 5-10 over the limit which is easy to do. So after a while I just started not stopping if you know what I mean... I got fed up and sold my bike before something bad happened.
And that actual crime is happening in the cities not on the Highways which is where the Highway Patrol enforces the law, if it were city cops or sheriff your statement would make more sense.

Sam if this is a common occurrence in LV with the NV State Patrol there should be a class-action lawsuit. It appears these meathead idiots are just jealous of guys driving around in nice cars. Not just the citations but the predatory nature of the way that was done is abuse of power and since the whole incident was being filmed by many people he should be brought up on harassment charges and fired and the state police should be liable for damages; it was something that never should have happened and the guy overrode his superiors to go on this ridiculous tirade.
As an aside, I graduated from UN-Reno in 2002 and all I remember is that although there would be trouble occasionally with city cops or Washoe County Sheriff officers the university cops were a pain but I have always noticed State Patrollers seem to be hardest to deal with (now in WA St., WASP officers and ORSP are both big pains in the butt) In Seattle I have never had trouble with SPD but WASP have messed with me plenty.
