Drew, some yards require you to take off the gas tank on lawnmower 's. Lower the change of fire from the tank.

Me and dad found 2 lawn mowers and dad fixed them now they run because people throw them away thinking that there tore up lol great video buddy!

Good video. Is there anything worthwhile breaking down the motor further? I am a hobby scrapper and have the time if there is anything good.
Not really. That’s about it on lawnmowers
I remove the spark plug and then remove the head and create a pile. It's the only part of that engine I find to be clean. My scrap yard wont give me a dirty aluminum price for the motor. Way too much steel in there.
So how much can you get for a single pushmower deck?
It’s the aluminum motor that you get most money for the deck you don’t get much more at all unless I sell one now when I sell decks I get $25-$50 each

According to scrap and pallet man people that strip stuff down for extra are wasting their time and energy, i would say he's just a lazy git 😂😂
Lol to each his own. Everybody scraps differently.
Idk s&p man has some good points regarding time and energy expended versus an extra buck or two for tearing things apart. Paul focuses more on editing I reckon.
In Paul's defense, just like he has to explain over and over to some commenters, everyone has their own unique scrapping situations. You have to balance a lot of factors including time, space,tooling,family time, personal abilities etc ect.
Paul's yard pays him very well for shred making it less profitable for breakdowns. Paul does not have a large area to store stuff for future breakdowns. Paul spends more time editing videos for UA-cam than doing breakdowns .
All said he breaks down what is worth to him and not the Monday Morning quarterbacks
I cringed each time that you cut a control cable. A complete used control cable that is not rusted can sell for $5 or $10 if it has a working lever assembly.
Actually that John Deere mower with RWD could sell for $150 if you spent an hour to replace the carburetor, and get it running. Those aluminum decks on those John Deere machines never rust - they are very desirable.
