I made your roast today for my family and it was amazing. Thank you for sharing, my wife used the Instapot and cooked for one and a half hours. Delicious! Thank you 😊
Allie, I prepared tonight and my wife thought it was the most delicious roast she had EVER ate! I am no longer allowed to carve the meet out for hamburger meat again. Thanks again!!
I love seeing the recipe videos sm. I had some family stuff happen and wasn’t going to be able to hunt this season and it’s been a huge bummer as this was going to be my first season but now I’m at least getting some ideas of what to make when I do finally get a deer.
Great video. Only thing better than easy food, is great easy food! On butcher day, we have taken to throwing a blade and a couple shanks into the crock pot to cook down for pulled venison (add sauce of your choice later) or just add large chunk potatoes and carrots, garlic etc for a stew. 8-10 hours later, pull the meat and serve. Often start the pot at the end of the day and have the next days lunch ready in the morning. Best way to dissolve the cartilage in the shanks without wasting time firing up the smoker. We bag and freeze the remaining shoulder/shanks for cooking another day.
Season the blade roast well and let it sit in the fridge uncovered overnight, then the following day toss it on a bbq or smoker on low heat. I do the same with the ribs.
I've usually ground up the blade roast but I'll have to give this a try been looking at ways to cook it up. I'll have to see if I get a deer during gun season and give it a try.
Awesome! A butcher told me to debone deer meat and cut the skin off of the meat where it was sticking to the bone.He claimed it’s less game taste. I don’t see much of a difference.
Here is a venison recipe: crockpot some venison, put it in a casserole dish when tender, add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, and long grain wild rice, and put in the oven and cook to perfection.
save that blade for rattling bucks, or as maybe a dog bone? also...can be used to archery broadhead testing.....both white tail and elk shoulder blades testing....ua-cam.com/video/BHu2gfWMw14/v-deo.html
My old Shepherd buddy used to love having that shoulder blade bone to chew on, God rest his soul!

Sure! The bone adds flavor though.

Can't help myself, gotta have carrot chunks and turnip chunks in there.
