    The baking soda/vinegar is supposed to make them fluffier. I find whoopie pies to be halfway between cake and cookie and they are a little dense.

  • @yoyomax12
    @yoyomax12  12 років тому

    It is a good rule of thumb for baking to use unsalted butter. I usually use salted butter and omit the salt asked for in the recipe.

    I've never in my life sifted flour and I've never had a problem with it, not once and I've been baking for 35 years.

    No clue what the foamy milk does, helps make the dough fluffy? I didn't write the recipe, I just followed it.
    Vanilla bean paste tastes like vanilla extract.

    Problem is that the warm marshmallows will melt the butter in the filling and I'm not sure how all of that will turn out.

    ive seen in alot of your sweet videos use chocolate. do you know of anything that i could replace chocolate for? even just in general. (im allergic to chocolate) also....i love your videos!! i cook alot more than i used to since i started watching you :) love from Scotland ^.^ x

    Do you think it would look nice if I made the whoopie pie green, and then did what you did for the frosting so it would look MORE realistic?

  • @Shiilus
    @Shiilus 12 років тому

    Oh you're Scottish? Same here!!! Do you normally have any chocolate alternatives? Anything chocolate-like should do, or even more black icing itself. I know that you can get quite hard fondant icing that could easily replace it. Icing is also meltable is some instances! :)

    amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing as always! i love whoopie pies so much! mom made them a lot when we were kids and now all of a sudden they are the snack cake of maine for some reason and there are wonderful varieties everywhere you look, homemade ones in the country stores, etc. mmmmm you have done the whoopie proud! and... great job to angel for the intro :)

    the little milk/baking soda/vinger.... what is that for? is that what makes the cakes so fluffy?
    If so... can I add that to any cake recipe to make them fluffy like woopie pies? The reason I ask, I make red velvet woopie pies, but they are always a little too dense for my liking....

    Also, if you dont have marshmellow fluff, just put ALOT of marshmellows in the microwave to melt it down, youll end up with the exactly same thing just dont let it get too soft and thin. Make sure its thick so keep stirring it!
