Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- A little ranch work this time. Need an all weather horse paddock surface for Zippy's dry area. Mud and muck will just not do. 23 tons with the little John Deere, see how we did it.

Tim the barn is looking like it is 50 - 100 years old.Great job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Doug!
THAT LINER WILL MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE FOR SURE, BRILLIANT JOB, MICK UK.
Thanks Mick, it will for sure
In 3 years, the extra work of laying down the liner will be AAAALLLLLL worth it! Nice job doing it right.
Thanks!
I’m curious how this dry lot has held up I’ve the last 3 years. I have a 12’ x 36’ area in front of my shelter that I would like to do this. I would need to use a 2”-3” aggregate as a base layer because my mule likes to dig.
YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THAT Fabric .Pepole in Alaska use it all the time ..love the way your barn for the tractor turned out 👍 grater job..& SKIPPY IS BEAUTIFULL..That horse has nice colors ..Good Luck .can't wait to see more..Thanks for sharing .I live in PGH PA ..& that's ..... But I'm waiting on my Dream to come true.until then I Appriciate you showing me how good its going to be . ✌u tube freind .👍
Thank you William!
Zippy seemed to know what you two were up to and appreciated your hard work at 9:15
Nice hard work makes you feel good.

I know that was funny. Thanks Will
Nicely done, Zippy will be a happy camper. That area will hold up well with the geotextile fabric underneath. Thanks for sharing, good luck with winter storm Aubry.
Thanks Dana
Skippy looks good for his age. We have a quarter horse that is 35 and a pony that is 22. If you take care of them, they live a long time. Both were jumpers in english riding for the girls. So Skippy should enjoy the good footing.
Thanks Joe
Are storm was a dud 2” of snow glad to see you got it done for Zippy💚💜
Yes here too. Only about 4". Thanks!
I like your work . Greetings from Switzerland Daniel
Greetings Daniel! Thank you
Thanks for another video 👍.....film the storm that would be cool to see.......JJ..
It was a dud Anthony
Looking good! Beautiful place you have.
Thank you so much Dennis!
Very good Tim it looks awesome it's going to work great and keep zippy cleaner
Thaks Mike
Hey Tim, looks like a good job the two of you did for Zippy today. I was watching real close and the two of you did an excellent rendition of an original Indian Snow Dance !! Show us how it worked in the next video! 😁 We really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing with us.
Will do, thank you!
Would like to see you ride Zippy into the video or trailer for your channel...always watching ...nice job on paddock for your horse.....
👍
Another good one !! Zippy is gonna love it.
Thank you Randy!
In future check out an industrial supply house. They carry that textile in a much heavier grade in twelve foot widths for much much less than those 'homeowner' style lightweight four foot rolls. Take care. Doug
Thanks Doug
Hey guys, I’m planning a round pen right now, and I’d like to know if you have any recommendations on where exactly to buy the geotextile fabric. Thank you for the video, I appreciate the well-thought out planning.
That fabric is awesome... beats watching your dollars spent on gravel sink in the mud
I'd really like to see a handmade wood sign above zippys coral entrance or his indoor building entrance with something along the lines of zippys palace or zippys mansion on the hill. I'm sure with your creativity and awesome skill you could make something really one of a kind and awesome to see
So Zippy gets a gravel driveway to his house nice.
Ha yep!
Great job!!! What geotextile fabric did you use? Where did you get it from? What square footage used? How is it holding up?
I'd like to know too please! 🐴
Where to buy the fabric? Cost? I have 3 Belgians in a sea of mud. Ohio. 23 tons and whadya get? Another day older and a little less wet 🎼
What was the approximate thickness of drain rock over geothermal membrane and what was the thickness of limestone topping. Thanks.
Couple of inches on both, give or take. The fines top dressing could be thicker.
Time-lapse shot of a clock and a thermometer ...... with the usual backdrop of course?
I have never laid a base down for a horse but I have done the membrane and MOT filler (under a block pave drive)....... Would it be an idea to compact it before the fines? As you say there is a Lot of force from a horse! It was bad enough to have one stand gently on my foot and lean against me squashing against a wall. I can imagine what that kind of force would do to a muddy substrate, and it would involve wellies ;0)
Got to agree though ...... it Does look Good!
Thank you Dave
A few hundred extra dollars upfront can really save thousands of dollars over the years. Doing it right the first time, in just about anything, ultimately saves so much down the road.
Well said Joshua
@@GreatPlainsCraftsman Thank you.
Pics of the snow Please. We have not had any yet this year in the snow belt
Not really much here either. Storm was a bust Larry
Did I miss Zippy's story? if so, would you restate the YouYube URL? I don't do social media because of a personal issue. This is not the place to discuss that, so I won't.
