The Spiral | New York's Latest Incredible Skyscraper You’ve Never Heard Of
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 чер 2020
- The Spiral is a 66-floor skyscraper under construction in Hudson Yards, New York City. The project was announced in 2016 by real estate developer Tishman Speyer as a 1,041 foot skyscraper with 2.85 million square feet and 66 floors. The tower was designed by Danish architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group, which also designed the nearby West 57.
The Spiral will be located on 34th Street between Hudson Boulevard and Tenth Avenue. When completed, The Spiral will join other developments made possible by rezoning, including Hudson Yards, 3 Hudson Boulevard and Manhattan West. A distinguishing feature of the proposed building is that each floor will have outdoor gardens that will spiral around the building.
Construction on the tower commenced in 2018, and as of June 2020 the Spiral stands at least 25 stories tall. The Spiral will greatly complement the Hudson Yards in New York's skyline along the Hudson River.

Skyscrapers & MegaProjects I think it’s looks amazing
looks great
This tower was very beautiful New York City has so many skyscrapers that have built.
The tower was very clean with 0% of pollution and 100% clean.
The name of tower "The spiral" has the same name
Same name of The spiral tower is in Tokyo Japan 🇯🇵
Tokyo japan's Spiral tower is taller than burj khalifa that is not builded yet
Tokyo Japan's spiral tower is 1000m and 200 floors
And burj khalifa is only 828m and 163 floors
But Kingdom tower is taller than Spiral tower.
Jeddah tower or Kingdom tower's height is 1007m and 200+ (2 basements) floors.
It looks great but not New York, I prefer Art Deco buildings like empire and Chrysler buildings
The glass walls of the balconies are so low. One trip and it's a long way down!
Beautiful image, looks like a dream, something out of this world, the New York skayline is the best in the world. I love this channel.
From Brazil. 🇧🇷👍👏👏
I heard of this skyscraper before but I didn’t realize they started construction already.
Same. I thought it was a concept or just a planned building.
New York has to be the best city in the world.
Agree
Indeed for the rich.
Far from it, it's good but certainly not the best.
@@m4x927 I have to disagree with you. It is the media centre of the world and it is the most stereotypical metropolis. It simply cannot be compared to any other city in the work. Fair enough you can compare heights of skyscrapers but it’s really the spirit of the city that matters. New York is the perfect city.

Cities need more green skyscrapers like this one, great video!
Great video as always!
Jesus ! My request for a video just unknowingly came true !!!
Fun fact : The Spiral's site is actually for a 550m/1800ft tower ( Hudson Spire ), however it didn't happened though,it's not cancelled but in vision...
I saw your comment on the last video and knew you were in for a surprise! Care to predict my next video?
@@Aaronaa4,9 DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn ?
@@LudicrousTorpedo Wait? So the spiral isn't happening?...
Squid Cena the original plan for the 1800ft spire was changed to the current plan of 1041ft is what they’re saying
@@SquidCena,no it's the Hudson Spire not happening
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this video!!! It's like you read my mind, I have been thinking of this beautiful building so much over the last couple weeks, because of the recently approved similar projects in Australia and Vietnam. I LOVE any building with gardens built into the design, and The Spiral adds them in such an awesomely seamless and innovative way!
Wow! It is beautiful!!!
Nice dude this is the best channel I have ever seen
Go see my videos man
And like them also
no.
What?
Great to see an office tower instead of just another residential tower for millionaires!
What a incredible video
Wonderful👍🏻
Real skyscraper enthusiasts have obviously heard of it before ;)
You’d really hope so!
I have heard of this very cool looking skyscraper and anxiously await its completion.
When will completed?
2021
@@Aaronaa4 ok
I have worked on this project as engineer

Jesus. New York is indeed a special city for me. It ain't the place where the tallest building is. It ain't the largest city there is. It ain't the cleanest city. But hell does it unique. NY has always been that city that's perfect because it's imperfectnes. Reminds me of where i live now, Tokyo.
Ever live in nyc?
Looks a bit futuristic
I like. Will be another landmark for sure.
The spiral Hudson yards looks like MahaNakhon bangkok.
I want to see in action movie
Rather lame.
It's more of a tribute to Sierra Nevada Club than an aesthetically pleasing style.
I don't want tributes, I want beauty.
The height is admirable though.
Well I found out about it in Summer 2017...
Looks stunning :D
I wonder, when will the city build a 1,000 ft affordable skycrapper for the people who wants to have that luxury feeling, and affordability. A lot of us the essentials workers deserve it.
That ain't happening in a long time, it's more likely they make a smaller version of that tho
The Chrysler building is 5 feet taller then that building
Song?
Why did UA-cam unsubscribed me from this channel?
Necesita ser más innovador
The general idea is good but the design is ugly. Should have used curves going around instead of steps.
Not very elegant...
Not to be "that guy" but I'm really underwhelmed by the landscape around the building. For a building meant to "merge" the natural and artificial world it really seems like the natural is GREATLY overshadowed by the artificial. Like, just a tree per platform and some moss connecting them? Not even draped throughout each of the entire platforms? Sorry but it's not green enough for the hype it's getting when there's already existing buildings that turn an entire wall of the building in to an ecosystem. The spiral isn't anything revolutionary.
YAWN! Another 1,000’ box! That site could’ve had a mega tall put there! It was actually marketed as the “Hudson Spire”, but we get this bland boring box! This parcel of land could’ve actually accommodated a mega tall, there are not many in NYC due to FAA restrictions that can.
More buildings they have, the more dumb their mind is.
How is having more buildings dumb what do you even mean?
@@Master-kh6ww they have a lot of buildings, but their mind is still in 3rd world country.
@@shukriwafiq5220 how so?
its ugly.
Well that’s your opinion they probably thought it was nice so they decided to approve it
@@Master-kh6ww yes. true. if it's for the people's benefit, then it doesn't matter ugly or not ugly.
