Im starting to wonder which is worse… always having a bad team, or getting teased into thinking we’ve finally risen out of perpetual suckiness only to get our hearts broke every 2 years
Guys , according to the Gridiron MD the Miami Dolphins rebuild led By CHRIS GRIER since 2020, paints a troubling picture out of 33 draft picks 45 % are no longer on the Team 36 % have been relegated to back up roles only 18 % became starters and a mere 3 % reached the pro bowl
I think some of these are related to the timing not being there specially with only one week of practice and faster than normal receivers. It’s going to take weeks before they are anywhere near in sync
tyler huntley didnt play too hot on monday. but I still have some hope for him, he ran somewhat well. he definitely needs some more reps with the team, but what i can say is that hes still the best active qb on the team
I think Huntley has potential as a long-term backup. He's got a build that seems to be more durable. He's mobile. He's got power. He needs reps and time in this offense. Let's face it, Skylar has been here 3 years and still holds onto the ball too long and makes stupid throws. If this regime survives until 2025, Tua #1, Snoop #2 and I'm drafting my future QB1 in Round 1. Cam Ward please.
Doug, what is going on, in your opinion, with Achane this year? Watching the film study the last couple weeks I have seen numerous times where the O-line has opened up a decent sized hole and instead of Achane planting his foot and cutting to the hole he is trying to push the rush to the outside for a lose or small gain. Is he injured and unable to plant and cut, is he afraid of getting hit, or is he just not seeing the field well this year? To me it has been a glaring problem specifically with Achane. I see Wright hitting those holes for good gains. Your thoughts?
While I see the sub par QB play with Huntley I also see a player that was asked to run one of the complicated offenses in the NFL- with a week and a half of practice- then the usual factors rolled in OL and abysmal coaching
a week and a half is plenty of time for a QB. last year the Falcons lost to a QB that was signed and played only 4 days later. Dobbs for the Vikings. not a good excuse because Huntly was so terrible. He is just a crappy QB.
mcdaniel needs to simplify the offense. he built it to take advantage of Tua's ability to make quick reads, but when you have weapons like Hill, Waddle, and Achane - any NFL level qb should be able to produce
@@SamNewman1984 It worked with a better OL (marginally overall but signficantly at RG), and McD able to call a balance of deception plays. Teams have figured out our scheme and when Tua comes back he won’t save us. Unless McDaniel can come up with another scheme. It’s a shame with the talent we have
Its really not the scheme, its the playcalling. The deception part of the scheme should be the exception to the expectation, thats what makes it the deception. McDaniel seems to think if he runs the same deception enough times then someone will eventually fall for it, its literal madness. I honestly believe the scheme is fine if there are _enough_ north-south/one cut runs and seam/slant passes, to make the other plays work ... right now its the simplest plays that are the only ones actually fooling anyone, thats how much McDaniel has out-thought himself.

Now look, everyone who was complaining when we were good, this is the Dolphins without Tua and essentially Tyreek aswell👍🏻🤷♂️

+1 to the NFL website media player for being junk and not disappearing so the film has a grey shadow over it. I hate that thing. Billion dollar company.
Tyler Huntley does not consistently see the whole field and has throw consistency issues. We know that. There are other more important issues to solve: blocking by TEs, inconsistency of Patrick Paul, and coaching incompetency where the wrong package is in for a key 4th down.
I used to think McDaniels positivity was worth his naivety. It all seemed fine when we were improving. Now I realise he's going go be positive even when we're awful, and keep making the same mistakes over and over. I think this was the game I lost all confidence in him. If I could replace him today I would (although only after Grier).
We really dropped the ball when we decided not to resign arguably the best right guard in the game (Robert Hunt) and replaced him with arguably the worst in Liam Eichenberg. That one sequence illustrates the front office dismissive attitude, arrogance, and incompetence 😔 name a profession where you consistently perform so terrible and continuously hear rumors that they are looking to replace you, and then all of a sudden you get a promotion ? Not only did Miami do a complete disservice to their fans by their lack of interest in solidifying their offensive line, they also disrespected their fragile franchise QB who is dealing with the most sensitive, career threatening, life altering injury the league has ever seen. Their lack of awareness and activity to build the offensive line is not only disheartening to their fans, but it’s irresponsible as an employer of men who play a dangerous game where their leader is dealing with a neurological condition that can be triggered by the slightest impact. The cheapskate front office is more interested in quantity (signing mediocre players on prove it deals) over quality. The fact they still haven’t signed an established lineman is truly disgraceful. Then to top it all off u have the kid lose 15lbs and motivate him to run more. This team is cooked. The franchise won’t protect Tua and we already know Tua won’t protect Tua with his inability to slide or avoid head trauma. McDaniel is now fighting for his job at this point. If we lose 1 or both of the upcoming 2 games and are 1-5, trade Hill for draft capital, see what u can get for Holland, Poyer, Ramsey and even Armstead, and set your self up for next season. Also one last thing, I think Mike White is a better in game performer rather than practice producer. We can all agree he’s a much better pure passer than Skylar. I think letting a guy go who was a pure passer and had a relationship with the offense and knowledge in the playbook for a scared Skylar was a lethal mistake going under the radar
