I'm an essential worker and my workplace is struggling to keep people at work. Everyone is taking unemployment and doing VERY well. The only thing keeping me and others at work is the idea of staying employed after this passes.

At this point a negative reaction to bottlenecking the economy is certain coupled with the ludicrous amount of new money artificially entering the economy diluting its value (à la grace to the $3T stimulus package). When quarantine is over and people start spending their checks, free money, the market will justly readjust pricing, everyday commodities start becoming gradually expensive and our money become increasingly worth less the government will start stepping in again. Not to mention that the government will need to collect funding for the bills and programs, by taxation and will undoubtedly increase taxes.

The bill includes a section that says the year of mortgage payments would be deferred. That means you’d just have to keep making payments for a year more than if you hadn’t done it. Meet kevin did a video on it. Edit: i just seen that Graham says this in the video 😂

The stimulus check should also include people who have been laid off and not just people making under $75,000. Lots of people who are unemployed make more than 100k in adjusted gross income.
There are a lot of people in oil and gas that are unemployed. The oil and gas industry is one of the most affected during this time. Also hospitals are losing revenue because elective surgeries are not being performed. This means high paying doctors/surgeons who perform these high dollar surgeries are not getting paid.

My parents file me as a dependent even though they don't provide for me financially. I am a full time college student and I volunteer and had unpaid internships last year so I didn't have time to work; thus, I didn't file taxes. I will get nothing from this even though it had been revised and I feel cheated. The virus has prevented me from doing paid research this summer and this money could really help me pay off my loans.

This would change the game for people in poverty. I absolutely agree front line workers should get an extra $13 an hour especially since people not working can collect $600 plus per week. I for one would make much more money being unemployed right now. There is no incentive to continue to work. Luckily I love my job working with senior citizens and when you have a job you love it doesn't feel like work. I know that someone has to do my job and not many people are running to work with seniors right now. Because of this I feel like paying healthcare/frontline workers an extra $13 an hour is the least they can do. It seems unfair that we are expected to risk our lives for $11 an hour.

So many people were angry last year when their refund checks were smaller than in previous years, this year many are jumping for joy for this stimulus check, next year we'll all be angry with the higher taxes we'll have to pay for this stimulus. The cycle continues. Free money is never free

Actually it applies to both. However at the moment, they are only gonna give this student loan forgiveness to those who are in an "economic hardship" which they equated to those who have not been making payments and their loans are delinquent as of March

At this point a negative reaction to bottlenecking the economy is certain coupled with the ludicrous amount of new money artificially entering the economy diluting its value (à la grace to the $3T stimulus package). When quarantine is over and people start spending their checks, free money, the market will justly readjust pricing, everyday commodities start becoming gradually expensive and our money become increasingly worth less the government will start stepping in again. Not to mention that the government will need to collect funding for the bills and programs, by taxation and will undoubtedly increase taxes.

The bill includes a section that says the year of mortgage payments would be deferred. That means you’d just have to keep making payments for a year more than if you hadn’t done it. Meet kevin did a video on it.

I live in Europe. The governments here are being even more liberal when it comes to giving out free money/welfare during this crisis. I am not a European citizen nor do I have permanent residency here, I'm only here on a temporary residence permit, and even I am receiving about €1,520 euros ($1,700 dollars) per month of free money. From what I understand, Japan is being similarly as liberal. If anything, post crisis, the US dollar will be strengthened relative to other currencies in the world.

and i am a front line worker as i work for UPS. but they will only give it to medical persons instead of everyone else who still had to go into work each and every day.
The stimulus check should also include people who have been laid off and not just people making under $75,000. Lots of people who are unemployed make more than 100k in adjusted gross income.
There are a lot of people in oil and gas that are unemployed. The oil and gas industry is one of the most affected during this time. Also hospitals are losing revenue because elective surgeries are not being performed. This means high paying doctors/surgeons who perform these high dollar surgeries are not getting paid.
People are getting 4200 a month take home from unemployment that should suffice

My parents file me as a dependent even though they don't provide for me financially. I am a full time college student and I volunteer and had unpaid internships last year so I didn't have time to work; thus, I didn't file taxes. I will get nothing from this even though it had been revised and I feel cheated. The virus has prevented me from doing paid research this summer and this money could really help me pay off my loans.

This would change the game for people in poverty. I absolutely agree front line workers should get an extra $13 an hour especially since people not working can collect $600 plus per week. I for one would make much more money being unemployed right now. There is no incentive to continue to work. Luckily I love my job working with senior citizens and when you have a job you love it doesn't feel like work. I know that someone has to do my job and not many people are running to work with seniors right now. Because of this I feel like paying healthcare/frontline workers an extra $13 an hour is the least they can do. It seems unfair that we are expected to risk our lives for $11 an hour.

The dumbest thing the gov did was give an extra $600 a week to the unemployed. There is nothing more stupid than incentivizing people to not go back to work by paying them more to be unemployed than to be employed.

Senate won’t pass it. We’ll hopefully they won’t.
They wont pass it. Instead they will give more money to large corporations. Difference in economic theory. Republicans tend to be more stuck in the "pay large corporations lots of money and it'll trickle down". Democrats are more along the lines of "give a bunch of average people small amounts of money and let it build up".
Most likely a hybrid will eventually pass that gives the average person something, and large corporations a lot of money. Hopefully with some stipulations this time around.
If everyone was going broke for real all the over priced stuff would drop there would be competition in the market instead of price fixing. Your savings would go further. They do need to do away with a lot of these taxes and government jobs that serve no purpose.
The amount of pork and amnesty in this thing is a non-starter. The House dems loaded it with candy because they know it's DOA and they can all yell that Republicans want people to die. Yet again, dems are politicizing this 'demic. Basically they're saying, "We're selling out your kids future, but here's $1200 so shut up."

As a student who worked hard to graduate early in December only to be stuck in a position where I cannot find any jobs in my field this would help me A LOT. It would get rid of my student loans. Allow me to collect that bonus unemployment. And I was claimed as a dependent. Like this would actually benefit my life in such a positive way until I can get a job and start building my career. I really hope it passes.
Even if this don't pass, they're giving Graham a lot of content. Also, I guarantee those politicians aren't reading this thing.

They don’t read them. They have “advisors” summarize it. Or a senior legislator advises the rest of the party how they are expected to vote (true story). So someone like Schumer or McConnel. There are occasional rogue elements like Tulsi Gabbard who will think for themselves, but for the most part the sheep follow their leaders without question
