Nikon Z lens DX 12-28 PZ, tested on Z30 & Z8 cameras, a marvel or just makes the cut?

- I bought the 12-28 for a studio lens to use on the Z30 because of the Z30's 2 hour shoot time for video. Took the lens out for a test spin before deciding to keep it or send it back... And why not test this compact DX lens on a full frame camera as well? Thanks for joining us!

thanks for the comment! I'm not too worried about attracting a super-large audience, that'll develop or won't. we've got our own good society going on the channel and that's what I'm striving for.
Nikon forces to shoot in APSC mode with APSC lenses? Or could you shoot in full frame mode with black corners? Is that different for video or photo?
@amermeleitor Thanks for the comment! I didn't test the photo aspect. My understanding is the camera body, in this case the Z8, recognizes a DX lens and adjusts automatically.

is the Z DX lenses are similar to the old DX lenses? Are they compatible? Do we need any adapter to reused the old DX lenses on the new Nikon Z30?

@lanphanh Nikon F lens to Z needs an adapter to work on Z cameras. Z lens mount, either DX or full frame works on either DX or full frame Z mount cameras. Thanks for the comment!

Do you find the lens to be very sharp?
Sharp enough for using in the studio to film arts and crafts videos. The full frame Z 14-30 S lens(one of my go-to lenses) is a way better choice, but also about 3x the price. thanks for the comment!
