    Could you possibly give out more tips targeted towards beginners? When starting out waiting months for small profit just isn’t realistic. And I don’t want to put a lot of money into picking up items at the thrift when I’m not sure if im going to make a return for months. Not to mention as a beginner it can be difficult to find what’s profitable at the stores. Love your vids and all the tips you’ve already given.

      Or should I just slowly add up listings until profit starts to come in?

      Great comment.
      Off the rip, I do not like or enjoy selling low profit items. If I had a choice I’d prefer high dollar fast selling items.
      The reselling game has gone from simple to extremely difficult.
      One reason is a lot of people over the last 4 years have gotten really good at finding to high dollar items.
      The reason it’s difficult to find items is because seasoned resellers are going to your thrift stores every week or day and grab the great items within seconds of hitting the sales floor.
      I’ll think about a video to explain some things that could help but just being straight with you, this side hustle is not as easy as it once was.

    on low to no profit things, why didn't you just donate it and get the writeoff for FULL value? That makes more business sense...just saying. I would have a floor and at that price I know I can write it off for more than what I would get...that is what happens. I will write off full resale value and document it. but that is me.
    EDIT - I also would have tried FB marketplace to see if I can get it sold without fees.

    This is actually a well timed video with all the talk going on lately of the Cassini algorithm weighting sell through rate #1 metric. I’ve been considering myself instead of being willing to wait six months for an item to sell start discounting maybe within even two weeks to 30 days of listing trying to have everything gone as fast as possible. Like 60-70% off already at or even before 90 days.
    Thoughts?

    • @TaylorExchange
      @TaylorExchange  Рік тому

      60-70% is very aggressive.
      A lot of it for me is how replaceable the item is. If it’s something I find every week I’ll good accepting or sending a low offer if I’ll still profit $5-$7.
      Rare items I’d rather wait the 6 months for max money or 10% off.

    • @johndough23
      @johndough23 Рік тому +2

      marking stuff down is pointless. It sounds logical but rarely moves the needle on items without any demand. If the listing is solid and lacks views then remove the item from your inventory. Nothing weights down the STR of your store more than piles of boat anchors. Another alternative is to make lots of slow movers. There is a market for lots on eBay.

    Had the same thing last year with those old items popping back up. Yet another thing They seem to have never fixed. Do you use the end listing sell similar after a certain time? A few of the UK eBay UA-camrs recently went to a "eBay Live" event and were seemingly told that after around 90 days if your item hasn't sold they get buried by the algorithm?

  • @rick9705
    @rick9705 Рік тому +1

    Have you made or could you make a video explaining why you end and sell similar then bulk edit reduce pricing vs just running markdown sales as inventory ages? I’ve heard their AI detects ending and sell similar so you don’t get the impressions bump anymore.

    • @TaylorExchange

      I won’t make a dedicated video to it.
