    In side chain mode, soothe will remove whatever freqs are present in the side chain input. Super useful, especially in mixing when you may have masking occurring between sounds/instruments

    This plugin has totally transformed my mixing and sound design process. I was debating buying Soothe for ages as it's quite expensive. But anyone who is unsure, it's a complete game changer. Worth every bit of the asking price.

    Been looking at that plugin for some time now. Good explanation of the features in this video. Only downside is the price. Nice video as always.

    200$ and ilok is just too big of an issue for me. I am currently testing "Smooth Operator" from baby audio - at least they offer a trial version!
    And actually I am getting great results when it comes to bass design! My basses often end up harsh in the top end but this mitigates it nicely! If I apply the effect a bit too strongly and my bass then becomes a bit too dull I just add in a final OTT in post and it's quite perfect! (Or you fiddle around with Smooth Operator until you have dialed it in of course.)

    How did you get a waveform to appear at the top near the transport?

    • @artfxdnb
      @artfxdnb  3 роки тому

      That is the Image-Line Wave Candy plugin.

      Thanks for your reply, just paypal’d you $10. It seems to be an fl studio thing. I went to a link and it appears to have installed flash player? Do you have a link?

      @@kevinsmith4785 You can find the links to Image-Line's discontinued plugins here: www.image-line.com/vst-downloads/
      The Wave Candy plugin is part of the Juice Pack and you need an FL license to use them.

    I've been using Soothe2 for a good while now and I like it a lot.
    The only thing that bugs me is that when I add any plugin to the fx chain AFTER soothe2 and then automate parameters of those plugins with automation clips in the song editor, they will sound out of time because of a latency soothe introduces.
    For example, if I put Soothe2 on my main bass, and then add a balance(gain) knob and automate it to manually draw in the sidechain, it will be out of time. But if I put the balance(gain) knob BEFORE Soothe2 in the chain, it will sound on time. Problem is I usually need the automations to happen AFTER Soothe2. I'm using Fl, if anyone figured out how to solve this without it being a pain in the butt everytime, please lemme know :)

      Maybe try to explain your problem to the FL user forum or support... With a video or pic maybe... I had such a problem with the smart eq 2... First everything was fine then it became out of sync... Try open the plug in (soothe 2)..open the settings and then the wrapper settings... There you can see processing and troubleshooting... I clicked on "use fixed size buffers" as recommended and from there on everything was in sync again... Sonible told something about block size and buffers wich i didn't understood but this helped me... If it work just look sometimes when you open a new project that it's enabled bc'z sometimes you have to click it again...maybe this help, if not the fl support/user forum is a good place to Adress your problem

      @@Motekk67 Hey, thanks for taking the time to reply. Enabling the fixed buffer size button doesn't help fix the issue. I actually should ask the Flipside forum as you said. Good suggestion thanks.

      @@FinalfixMusic ok good to know... Yes do that maybe others have this problem too... Another way you can do is render the mixer track to audio with soothe 2 enabled but without the automations... And then use the audio track and put the automations onto it... This way you have everything soothe did to your sound and you have the automations after it

      @@Motekk67 Yup, that's the workaround indeed. But I wanted to have it work properly in realtime. Thanks for your suggestions though, very kind of you.

      If you are on FL, a recent update added plugin delay compensation for automation, was reading on Reddit you can turn it on from the main menu in the mixer.
