  • Exploring, getting lost, and talking to EVERY npc possible in this part. I love the world building and learning about all the history and species!
This part and future parts will be on the longer side to avoid cutting most of the dialog and gameplay! All cuts that have been made are mostly sound alerts, redeems, dead air and talking to chat!

Always great to see someone play Mass Effect for the first time. It takes a while to get to grips with what's going on, but you're going about it in the best way. Taking your time, talking to everyone and learning about all the alien races and their motivations is a huge part of the whole saga. If you skip conversations, you might miss some great moments, not to mention crucial ones. Always best to exhaust all conversation options. You'll make lots of decisions on how to deal with various situations, like the religious freedom one you found between the Hanar (the jelly🙂) and the Turian official. Some are minor and some are major, but they all give experience towards your next level up, so are worth doing. And many of the decisions you make in the first game carry over into the other games with some having lasting consequences.
Anyone familiar with the game knows this and won't find it boring, so don't worry. There are some extremely well written characters that you'll get very attached to over the course of the trilogy. Quirky, funny, sad and poignant moments in equal measure, not to mention mystery and romance! You'll probably get many people telling you what you should do and it might be difficult to avoid spoilers, but ultimately it's your play though, so do whatever you think is best.
The 'Codex' menu option has lots of information, both narrated and text only, if you need a recap.
While there is plenty of combat and action, talking to people and learning about their background and the history of what happened (up to 50,000 years ago) before the events of the game is one of the primary things to do in these games. Also exploring every new area for containers and useful objects.
You might recognise the voice of Saren's female sidekick. It's Marina Sirtis, who played Counsellor Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Oh, and it's Saren, not Sereen!😜
There is so much more to come!

1:22:42 I can definitely give the developers a pass on this since Mass Effect was released in 2007; but unless there's something about those audio files that indicates that they only could have come from the geth, audio evidence like this would be laughably weak (considering what we now know about the way that voices can be mimicked).

It's a game dude, with about as much basis in reality as your average cop show.
