Great videos!!! I love your sense of humor. I just saw a pristine TR6 in a friends garage... I never saw a pristine TR6 before!!! Great work... keep the videos coming!!! Dave from Long Island, NY.

Great to see you still pushing on towards a painted and assembled body.
I guess the bootlid was maybe changed when the car was fixed after its rear end damage.
"Baby Blue" was probably officially "French Blue" - a nice TR6 color.

Interesting work, I had forgotten about all that work you did on the doors. I now have some hope for my hood (bonnet) now that I have seen what you have done ,as mine looks in pretty much the same condition except for a couple of small dents. Thanks for the update.

Lots of effort to use a wire brush. I use a commercial car paint remover especially for complex corners like the inside of a bonnet. Paint it on and leave overnight and then scrape it off. Use wire brush for any stubborn patches.

When do you use fiberglass vs when do your body filler instead ?

Hi Elin, looking at the drain holes in the doors, is doesn’t strike me that Triumph designed them to well? (Why only one each end but none in the centre?) obviously a super water/rust trap, by tradition it seems.....is there anything you can do to alleviate this problem prior to painting possibly? What’s your usual strategy E?

what is the advantage of painting in pieces? Could paint inside fenders etc, assemble then send out for paint?

Usable and reasonable looking or show condition ? For me cars are for using and show condition means that becomes an issue that restricts the pleasure of using. I would be very tempted to spray the panels off the car and get it on the road asap. I guess I'm just not a club/show kind of person.

I think back on the frame to tighten up things is the way to go. At least you know it will be correct “in white”.
Reassembly after paint is going to require much patience and care. I’ll light a candle for you!

Elin, you look tired at the end of your video. You need to take care of yourself & not get burned out. :)

@@G-Cam1 It's great information, and as usual he includes a discussion of what he is doing and why. It just that Elin usually has solid view angles & good close-ups, not the swinging camera approach. It was one of the distinguishing features of his channel.

You camera panning is a bit too fast and blurs what you are showing us. Great work on the car otherwise! As usual.

Just my opinion....leave the luggage rack off. The car will look better without it.

I agree. Please don’t put that back on. It looks like a towel rail. Totally spoils the lines.

@@Vespanation the rack must be mounted with the upright part towards the front, to prevent the luggage flying in your neck in case of an accident.

    • @Vespanation
      @Vespanation 4 роки тому

@@wimtillaart8671 I think that may be incorrect. The rack is mounted correctly, with the raised bar at the rear to prevent items on the rack from falling off the back under acceleration. If you check the period photos from BL, for any of the cars that used this type of dealer installed rack (the MGB, Midget, TR7, Spitfire, and TR6), you'll see that they all have the raised bar at the rear, as this one does. BL also offered what they called a "Spider" to be used with the racks. It is basically a stretchy net with hooks that you would stretch over your rack stored items and then hook the hooks to the rack.
