As a "State promoted ideology" Confucianism prevailed from Han onwards. At the same time, the Legalist legacy is highly significant. From the standardization of Script characters, coinage, weights, and the unification of the 2 river systems (yellow river and Yangtze) for the first time, China wouldn't be the same without Shang Yang and the Legalists. In all the dynastic rises and falls since, it has always been an aim to unify the Geographic region first unified by the Qin.
