- This is the only song from the "Homecoming" album not written by either band member. The original version is a beautiful collaboration by each member lending their own unique vocal style to this John Martyn tune. A true classic by any measure!

AMERICA rocks still to this day..have seen them over times in 40 yrs..met them many times..partied with them once or twice backstage..met their famililes ..nicest guys EVER!! Their music is timeless.....and they packing in the crowds all over the world.!!

Being "that '70's guy", I won't comment on sexiness...but now that you and I are both well into our 50's age-wise, I will say, Beckley and Bunnell have aged very well, they look absolutely great. Just miss Peek, RIP. Saw "America" when I was a student at Villanova University (PA) in '76, and would love to see them again!

I got in touch with Dan Peek about a month ago, I have loved America ever since "a horse with no name" but I hadn't realised they knew John Martin.Dan was kind enough and magnanimous to reply and take the time to explain how it all came about.I don't want to presume but I guess he was very unwell at this time.All the more respect for a great guy who improoved the quality of my life countless times. R.I.P my special soul mate.
He was such an essential part of the orginal lineup- Many of Dan's songs are my favorites from America- "Today's the Day" and "Woman Tonight". Wow- so sad just a month before he died...

I saw these guys playing a Balloon Festival in Battle Creek, MI. Some little kid band opened for them, like a Hanson clone group and about 1,000 people left after the kiddy boys were done. This was in 1996 and only about 100 people stayed to hear this great band. They played as if there was a sold out house, just did a great show for 100 people. I love these guys sound man, but what a bummer crowd. We were within 10 feet of the stage, great for us. Their tour bus said HOMESICK on the front of it. Peace, M.A.

Daredevils and met both groups after the show!! great guys and a few years ago they gave me a couple of free t shirts!! Love this song! The original recording has a great electric piano groove running through it and the piano is really turned up in the mix. The song as well as the recording has a most haunting beauty to it.

Dan's sound and songwriting are very missing from every song America's produced since he left. Dewey and Gerry are great- and nice to see how much live performing they've done past few years, keeping their repertoire alive. As good as they sound, it's never topped the original lineup... So, did you meet Dan before or after he left the group?
