    Frank has a great talent to play duo and chamber music..I was so impressed by his performance with Timothy Ridout back in 2016, and I really admired his talent. This concerto proved me right, his talent is way beyond my expectations! Such great music composed by Kapustin and great performance by Frank!

    The thing that makes this recent recording so so good is the tightness of the ensemble, and the subtle changes the drummer makes throughout the score.

    • @Nooticus
      @Nooticus 8 місяців тому

      Pretty sure that the drummer has made no changes and that all of this detail was written by Kapustin in a detailed score

    • @tfpp1
      @tfpp1 8 місяців тому +2

      @@Nooticus Trust me, there's definitely small, subtle changes. The drummer mirrors more of the rhythms throughout the rest of the ensemble. The score does this sometimes, but much of the time he's supposed to just keep the beat by playing straight eighth beats and such.

    was this edited to be acoustically closer to Angelov's live recording? I loved Frank's original, drier recording but the added reverb here really suits this piece too! so good

    • @Pianodud
      @Pianodud  Рік тому

      Yess! i agree with your opinion. The result track wich i made is quite similar to Angelov’s one. I just put on track an altiverb-plugin(sound likely to make acustical reverb) to create likely real acustic reverb sounds. 😊

    Nikolai Kapustin hat Musikgeschichte geschrieben. Seine Kompositionen beinhalten die wichtigsten 3 Elemente aller Musik: Melodie (steht für Liebe), Rythmus (steht für Sex) und Klang - oder Sound - (steht für Atmosphähre). Die sogenante "E- Musik" aus dem 20. Jahrhundert ignoriert diese Elemente und wird deshalb nicht überleben!!! Die Werke von Nikolai Kapustin wird man noch in den kommenden Jahrhunderten hören. Die perfekte Interpretation seines Piano-Konzertes No.4, gespielt von Frank Dupree trägt dazu bei.

    I may be wrong, but I hear where some inspiration for Cory Henry's playing in Lingus is from.

    I feel a New York energy in this totally Russian composer's style.
    Kapustin gives me the impression that while he seems to have an American side to his compositional style,
    he is too blatantly Russian to venture forth from his country to discover the 'glories of America.'
    What a waste!!! He died undiscovered!!!
