I have since childhood been a fan of Calvin & Hobbes. Thank you, firstly to Bill Watterson. A great live action spoof made a wonderful homage to this classic Character within Calvin's mind.
They wouldn't have to necessarily have an animated show, but Watterson most definitely could have had more merchandise for the strip. Most strips that have merchandise actually didn't kill the strip off, excluding Garfield's brand, which obviously broke the strip down.
Now that-is one great video. I think you guys should really make a long film on Calvin and Hobbes- if Bill Watterson lets you. (which he probably won't, sadly!)
ok.. thise is a real pearl of a video right here..! honestly... you guys totaly did it!.. i'm impressed.. the dialog is all there.. the dark ambience of tracer bullet was incredible! thise is a movie FROM calvin & hobbes fans, FOR calvin & hobbes fans! great work... i loved it! couldnt be better even if you tried ;)
My sister told me about this video cause she thought I'd like it. Unfortunately she was wrong. I absolutely love this! Wow. So good. Production wise and everything! What comic is this based on? Is it a real published one or just something a friend wrote because this dialogue was amazing! So so good. Anyway, thought you should know.
I still don't understand why Watterson won't make commercialism out of Calvin and Hobbes. Take Tintin for example. Herge made a bunch of merchandise way back and Tintin still is a valued brand. Did it ruin Tintin? Make it cheaper? No! So Calvin and Hobbes would be the same.
I am guessing you guys got a C grade, because of it's unoriginality. If you disagree, please read on. The 2004 Winter Light Works featured a different Tracer Bullet on 16 mm, with similarities in shots and premise. For the creator.. Yes, I did say "Light Works". This is only open to University of Michigan student films such as yourself. If you still believe it is "original", show this video to Chris MacNamara in the FV office. I am surprised that you didn't get in trouble for this.

How did I not know this was a thing until right now?
Brilliant! I love Tracer Bullet and Calvin + Hobbes.
This has actually got to be one of the best adaptations I've seen! Well done, sir! :D

AWESOME!
Well done. I don't look forward to the day C&H enter the public domain, but in the meantime I'm happy to see little indie gems like this one.
Nice video.
actually i saw a calvin and hobbes comic strip on a shirt one time
Perfect location. Where was it filmed?
Amazing vid!I still can't seem to find the David Plona who wrote the piano soundtrack.
same. it would be nice to have the legacy move on.....though they could not beat the very last strip : ' )

Because he didn't want his creations to be ruined and rewritten by public. It happens a lot with popular stories. Take movie adaptations for example.
@@allaniadall9686Yeah I don’t think Watterson wanted a world where Calvin twerks in CGI family movies.
HA!!! I Love it!!!
other than the lack of cutaways to calvin's real life this was excellent! It worked without htme! you should do another film of calvin and hobbes
This movie is mad wack. Just kidding. Its the best ever.
