  • If El Chepe sounds unfamiliar it's probably because not many people know that there is this amazing scenic passenger train that takes you through some of the most incredible landscapes you could imagine. El Chepe is the only Passenger train in Mexico that takes you through the Barrancas del Cobre or Copper Canyon, a canyon system that is 4 times larger than the grand canyon and can reach up to 1 mile in depth at some points.
It is both a tourist and commuter train so if you just want to hop on to get from one town to the other or buy a ticket with the ability to jump off at different stops to explore the town for a few days you have options. For more info: chepe.com.mx/
We went with a tourist ticket and chose Creel as our first disembarkment. We took the train 5 and a half hours south to the Pueblo Magico of Creel. This was the first of many Pueblo Magicos that we will be seeing as we journey through Mexico, and we have become huge fans of the Pueblo Magico initiative after our time in Creel.
On our first day, we check into our hotel, La Troje and then booked a tour with one of the local guides. We explore some of the more popular tourist sites in the area on our first afternoon there and ended up having a pretty heartwarming and magical time in the Pueblo Magico.
We stayed at La Troje, a highly rated but very affordable option, which ended up being a very nice place, with great rooms and amenities, personal attention from our host Guillermo, and just an overall great place to stay.

However, you do have to climb stairs to reach the rooms, so if that's a problem for you, there are some other options. We went to have a beer here at their restaurant and it looked nice and cozy. It also has good reviews.

We understand booking tours ahead of time is important for some travelers so we feel confident recommending Omar as a guide. He offered a good price and was very accommodating with our private tour. He said they can also offer tours in English but you would need to call and set that up in advance.

I am so happy you gave advice in this video to always buy something small like cookies or put some money in the tip jar to make a donation to people who open up their homes for you to look inside. It really makes a difference to give a tip in Chihuahua and that was so kind of you to buy cookies from a family and a bracelet from a little girl.

Your video is Soo great, thank you so much. Thank you! - I need to edit my comment: there are many many beautiful elements in your video, this video may be underrated and should maybe be broadcasted on TV. Just another compliment to you guys. I will subscribe and hope we perhaps cross our ways sometime.

You guys are from El Paso, as I recall, so how did you get from there to Chihuahua city? Did you take the bus from Juarez or. . . ? We'll be coming from Deming, NM, so I was wondering how to get down there.

Thank you so much, we’re just coming back from El Paso we live in Phoenix, why People from El Paso liked so much Chicos Tacos 😝 they’re so popular that we wanted to try them 😁 we didn’t like them at all , why they pour tomato juice on top of the flautas and lots of cheese on top of the tomato juice , then gave you a fork to eat it with 🤣😂

Your film is amazing! I love the music and the color. What did you use for color grading? It's so beautiful! YT definitely doesn't know how to push nice stuff.

Thank you so much!! Seriously such a nice comment. Javier uses different Luts on Final Cut Pro and then adjusts the grading to fit the style of the video!

Nice that the poorest can make a few bucks from the most privileged, even though they have to have their homes invaded.
