Is a Tiltrotator worth the investment?

- I run through all the issues I have had since running my Engcon tiltrotator, how its performed, what I paid for it, what the backup has been like, and most importantly - does it earn me any money!
Honest feedback from an owner operator.

This is the exact information I was looking for. I am still at the “holy shit they are expensive stage” 😂
So as an update I have now ordered an EC04 for my machine from Engcon. I am so excited to see what it can do for my business. Thank you for information like this Ollie, it really helps.
Cool I'd like to hear the next update.i couldn't bite on one of these w my kx040, but have a CMP tilt rotate bucket in bound. Compromise but looks high value. Their other gear has exceeded expectations.@@fearlesswhetu4555
What is the weight on your machine? I wanted the Takeuchi TB240 at 8600 pounds but it's 3-6-9 months out who knows. I can pickup a Sany 35U at 8500 pounds and run a slightly used Rotatilt on it within 2 weeks. I'm definitely concerned about the weight out over the side of tracks on a zero tail swing machine vs conventional tail swing. Your thoughts?
The guys that say it will break haven't use one. I get to use two, one on a Kubota kx080 with a Rototilt and the other is a Steelwrist X12 on a JCB Hydradig, they are tough rigs. I'm sure a really bad operator will put extra wear on them but perhaps that guy should stick washing dishes.
I have E206 model for 2+ years 4000 hours never had an issue. Only 1 time when it was new and work site was sandy so sand got between hitches and quick lock didn't open. Had to use hammer.
"trying to work and earn some money". When your not quite there as a influencer 🤣
For grading maybe for excavating no
great video mate!
im from sweden and i can´t really recal when i saw a mashine whitout a tiltrotor on it here.
lets hope that it will be a more comon sight to come, as u are making a piont here that it will make u good if u know how do use it in a business piont of view..
Great review keep videos coming
Nice one Ollie Thanks again
I was hoping to get an ec02 direct mount but they don't do that anymore, do you ever drop the tilt rotator. I feel on a machine of this size there would be no point.
I only ever take it off to put the auger or breaker on. Its proven to be much tougher than I first thought and the top hitch rarely gets used. Handy though if I've ever broken it to drop it off and carry on working - the top hitch has probably earned me more money this way than the need to remove it to get work done
Follow your advices!!! I would never go without one anynore !!!!
Great video Ollie 👍👌
Looking forward to next episode!
Ollie. Did yours come with a second service from manufacturer or retro fit after just having this with my kubota 27u as a single surply
Thanks for the review and thoughts on your Engcon. Looking at getting an EC02 here soon.
“This thing has seen some action” 💪 we’d never doubt that quote mr Gunns 😎
I test it so you don't have to!
I'd run that digger another 5000 hours mate! i get the resale value though.
So would I Bob, but the money was right to change and JCB aren't going to make the 8026 for much longer - I had to act now to ensure I had a new version of my favourite machine for the next 10 years/ 5000hrs!
Thanks for this Ollie!
Why are the Scandinavian style grading buckets shaped like that?
They are really well designed for digging at angles. The back of the bucket never catches
@@Olliegunns ahh interesting. Thank you
How much is one of these set ups these days?
Nearly double what I paid the first time! I dont want to give too much away in the comments, I think I say what they are currently in the video?
35k now
Just for the machine? Prices have risen so much in the last couple of years - its unsustainable.
Why not a standard encon tiltrotor bucket? That bucket looks a bit short and wide... Some sort of hybrid between a standard tiltrotor bucket and a traditional one?
It is a standard Engcon bucket. I think the picture somehow makes it look stumpy?
@@Olliegunns ah I see...the bottom of the bucket somehow looked a little short in the video.
@@Olliegunns It is not really standard, it is 1000mm, and not standard 900mm.
@@elbuggo very true, but the shape is the same!
