Nice review Ollie The fact that the gripper isnt a quick detachable unit could be an issue, negated somewhat if you have top hitch with oil and you can drop the whole unit off easily, but I take the gripper off the engcon quite often in deep trenching and its a great design, very quick n easy. Bucket vibrate looks a useful idea, if it will shake sand or gravel backfill material out of the bucket without having to shake yourself out the cab to do so :)
The biggest issue with the joysticks from svab/steelwrist is the two rollers on top instead of bottom so you cant easily run tracking gripper and tracks, which you can do on the engcon. The new RC have the two rollers on the bottom so that solves it for them. I believe that the SVAB new A9 joystick also now have two on the bottom.
Hey ollie, the engcon ec02 are doing a deal at the moment £5500 fitted with 3 buckets, kn the ec02 can you work a pecker on it? Also what about if you wanted to keep your own buckets will they gjve you a template to weld on top of the buckets to suit the engcon? Cheers
I believe that offer is for a 4 pipe setup, so you would need an excavator with two aux lines down the boom and ideally both working off rollers on the machines existing joysticks. You cant use a breaker under any Engcon. That's a Rototilt USP. As for brackets, yes you can buy brackets to weld onto your existing buckets, but as I explain in another video I made on here, the angle of the buckets, shape and weight of proper scandanavian buckets are significantly different and designed to work under a tiltrotator at all angles. I really would advise saving up and getting proper shaped buckets - they are a dream to use, especially the grader and cable bucket. The general digging buckets aren't so important.
Thanks Craig. They all have their plus points but to be honest, I think its such a small difference between the top 3, you'd be happy with either of them.

A hard topic to cover, so much to talk about.
Very good video 👌
