  • Let's simplify what Lexus self-charging hybrids are all about.
    So you've decided to take the plunge and try driving something that's electrified. But where do you begin? How do you introduce yourself to this new and bold future of motoring? Driving something electrified presents its own set of unique challenges, and they're major enough that they can deter even the most committed amongst us to this future, or cause concern as the charge goes down, and you're stuck in traffic.
    Lexus, however, has an answer.
    They call it Lexus Hybrid Drive, and it's been around far longer than many of us may think. And if you have a few minutes to spare, we think we can explain why it's the perfect first step you can take in driving, owning, maintaining, and enjoying what the future of the automobile has to offer.

    It can charge itself while it drives...wow! If only an internal combustion engine could charge its battery while it drove :P

    I like Lexus. It's like a more honest Toyota where they're not trying to hide the fact they're expensive but you can rest assured they didn't cheap out on you.
    Plus hybrids are really cost-effective nowadays with fuel prices going up if some Saudi prince so much as sneezes.

    Hi. Looking at the 2022 NX350h. Tell me, what kind of maximum cruising speeds should I expect - some ppl are telling me 30 kph others 60kph. What do you think?
    Thank you.

    Wrong it is not good for the environment as he says, better than just petrol but still pollutes. Only electric cars powered from renewable eg wind wave HEP sources do not pollute

    • @evyb3590
      @evyb3590 4 роки тому

      Ya exactly your not supplementing the amount of gas you use. Therefore it’s not coming from a renewable source. The only thing it could be doing is helping with fuel efficiency.

      Electric cars DO POLLUTE. You have to take in the total cost of manufacturing.
      Making electric batteries and aluminimum bodies is a *very* dirty, energy-expensive process.
      Batteries don't come for free. It takes years of driving an electric car just to get to parity in CO2 emissions, compared to a petrol car.
      But manufacturing costs are hidden from the consumer, so we don't worry about them. But we should.

    You are perpetuating the myth about self-charging hybrids. They are not 'eco cars'. The car has very limited capacity to move under electrical power alone and in any case ALL the energy that goes into the battery comes from the petrol engine - the energy 'recovered' from regenerative braking comes from the momentum of the car that the petrol engine generated in the first place. They are not more environmentally friendly or lower in emissions than standard petrol or even some diesel conventional cars. I am all in favour of moving to electric cars but people shouldn't be duped into thinking they are doing a good thing by getting a self-charging hybrid.

    How it can be good if you still use gass? It is not friendly at the moment and what happening in the world it just damaging eco system.

    • @w0mblemania
      @w0mblemania 2 роки тому

      It's not that simple.
      Electric batteries are *very* dirty to create, dispose of. Nothing comes for free.
      When you take total costs of manufacturing in to account, would need to drive a new plug-in battery car well over 100,000 miles in order to reach CO2 emission parity with a modern petrol-engine car.
      So "electric" doesn't mean "green" or "eco-friendly". It can help, yes, but there's still a cost.

    This guy is a donut, every car stops when you run out of a juice,. Self charging hybrids are just a compromise and if you want a compromise you are better off with a plug in hybrid.

    Based on the intro alone, this video deserves a double thumbs down.
