I actually want to say, there were a few years in the early oughts where my parents number was one number off from a nearby battered wives shelter. So we would always get calls from guys trying to talk to the women they had abused. The quick 180 their attitude made when they realized we didn't give af was astounding.
"I would never hurt her, let me talk to her" to "How dare you, I'll fucking find you and kill you." actually happened a few times. I was about 12-14 during this, I did not treat these abusers with kindness. Shame on me for that, but more shame on them for beating their partners n children.

When you say it “actually happened a few times”, do you mean that those people actually found you and tried to kill you? Because if so, that’s deeply concerning.
@youngnoodle1963 how can you say that as if women want to be abused? People can end up in abusive relationships due to many things, being drawn to abuse from trauma etc. is not the same as being aroused by or consenting to it. Women (or men) in abusive relationships dont actually want to be abused, and blaming them for what someone does to them is awful. Consensual pain like bdsm is a totally separate thing, its all about consent and being abused is not consensual.

@@weasley7273 if they forgot to take their insulin, their blood sugar wouldn’t be low at all; it would be high. Eating a candy bar then would make it MORE high, making the problem worse.

I think most of those were prank calls since Ron is the call screener and he didn't bother to let the callers know that this isn't 911...or he did and they tricked him
