The anime will absolutely increase the series' popularity, I just hope it doesn't ruin the comfy community like so often happens when these series blow up.
I'm only watching this to quench my Witch Atelier thirst. I remember reading the first chapter and immediately buying all of the physical volumes, cus I knew It was going to be good. I had to limit myself to only one volume per day. Wish I could delete it from my memory so I can read it again
Honestly one of the best mangas I've ever read. It would be my number one if it had been finished, but I'm holding my horses ✋️😭. Not often we're given both good art and story. It's incredible what can be created when creators actually take their time and create a beautiful package ✨️🎁✨️
I got into Witch Hat Atelier because of your recommendation and I love it soo much 😭 I think it's the perfect mix of cute and whimsical and some fairly deep themes, and the main characters are all interesting and unique. Plus the art is just so gorgeous!
I am so concerned for so many of our characters, but not in the typical way…idk if that makes sense; I’m trying to be spoiler-free 😅 But yes! The art and blend of feelings is exceptional :D
I don’t understand how this isn’t a more well known manga. It’s amazing. I’ve only heard you talk about it. I read it because of you and it is an all time favorite so far. Im on a second read through. So glad you talk about it! ❤
It has similar problems to another underrated series - World Trigger. They are both relatively slow burn series without too much action. On its own it would be fine, but the fact that they are monthly series really hurts a lot of people's interest.
I'm only four volumes in but I've been hooked since I picked up the first volume back in August. For me, what makes the series so interesting is how perfectly it fits as the opposite side of the coin to Berserk. Both series have beautiful art, amazing paneling, and subvert expectations they set up. Berserk is this dark and brutal world where the main character struggles against an increasingly mystical world. While things are always grim and stressful, Guts and his friends catch glimpses of hope beauty in spite of it all. On the other hand, Witch Hat ia this cozy, nostalgic world where the main character has her sense of wonder and interest in magic directed into a very mechanical magic where everything is within your reach if you know how to utilize the toolbox at your disposal. While everything is vibrant and comforting, these wonderful characters all have very relatable issues to work through and sometimes have to face undeniably dark realities that you would hope kids pike these would never have to experience.
I love this series so much. I've been following it for a while now, and it is one of my favorite stories. The plot is very interesting, and even though at first some characters seem like they are just going to be simple sidekics, as the story progresses they're all growing and bringing a new thing to the plot, like Tetia in the most recent ones. I'll try not to do spoilers but something that I really like is the way the author brings reflections on being an artist, the struggles and hapiness that come with it. Also the manga is so pretty that I'm constantly reading it again 😂
Y'know what.. I think it's time. I've seen images of this series around social media for months now & always thought the artwork & "Qifrey" character were SO pretty! I just never had the motivation to read.. until now. Thankfully my local bookshop has paperbacks of it, so I can buy & read a physical copy of Vol1 tonight. Thank you for not giving too many spoilers, but still explaining what to expect going in & why you love it. Hopefully I'm not too late to become a fan 🙏💛
thanks for giving more attention to one of my favourite series ! the 3 current series of manga that i get my comic store to pull for me are: Witch Hat Atelier, Magus of the Library, and A Bride's Tale. all have beautiful artwork by visionary female creators, who tell great stories that examine how their (historical or fantastical) societies are structured, with a wide range of characters and cultures interacting in good and bad ways. my first manga was Mai the Psychic Girl from back in 1987. my collection also includes runs of Nana, Library Wars, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Sanctuary, Crying Freeman, Lone Wolf and Cub, Chobits, etc. (not enough shelf space !! lol)
@@deliii395 true-- in my corner of the internet it's also well known, but i doubt the average shonen consumer will know about it. i think we'll have to brace ourselves for a thousand qifrey/gojo comparisons once witch hat finally gets its anime lmao
Never read any manga before; took your suggestion and started reading it today. So happy I left my comfort zone and tried something new. Thank you for the recommendations you give!
I used to be the type of person that wouldnt watch a movie before reading the book but i think sometimes it helps me imagine the characters. Just recently got into Full Metal Alchemist because of you and reading along helps
WHA is by FAR the best manga I have read in my entire life, and I doubt I will ever find one I enjoy as much as this. It has everything you said and more!!! I absolutely cannot wait for the anime!!
I'm glad you made this video, though it's one of your previous recommendations that already got me to check out Witch Hat Atelier (though I don't read any other manga). I agree with everything you said in this video. It's a wonderful series (and I suspect that I haven't even gotten to the really good part yet). My biggest "disappointment", and something that kept me from starting it initially was that it's black and white when the lovely art really cries out for colour. The covers show how much more wonderful the entire manga would look if it were fully coloured. I'm getting chills thinking about that. That also bodes well for any anime adaptation that will hopefully come, assuming they are really true to the art of the manga.
the anime is already confirmed! it's just the waiting game now - we dont know of any studio or staff yet so all that's left is hoping they're taking all their time in making sure a worthy adaption is made. i myself cant even imagine how it will look like, since the paneling and style is so unique. but hopefully they make use of the new medium creatively! if done right, it would look absolutely breathtaking with motion and color added.
an anime was confirmed 2 years ago but there's sadly no news whatsoever about it yet, hopefully its because they're trying their hardest to do the amazing art justice :')
I just bought the Kobo libra color and its larger screen size makes it perfect for graphic novels and manga. I was looking for some manga and graphic novels, so this recommend came at the perfect time. 😍
I LOVE this manga so much! She’s talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before…😂…well, you get it.
Girl you need a spoiler video to go with this!! Not enough people talk about the series and the few that do don't go super into it the fandom is hungry 😭😭
Already seen it, and i freakin loved it Btw the anime trailer for Witch hat Atelier just came out reasently so this will most likly bring in more people in to this franchise. Which is good, the story is like Kung fu Panda mixed with harry Potter, and it’s art style is a kin to berserk. A perfect combinination.
The anime will absolutely increase the series' popularity, I just hope it doesn't ruin the comfy community like so often happens when these series blow up.
I’m going to start gatekeeping the show/books if this happens 😤
Trust me it will. Exactly same thing happened with Frieren
I cant wait for the anime to boosts its popularity
Witch Hat Atelier is such an incredible piece of art

Looooooove this one! Just finished volume 3 and trying to pace myself as to not binge and run out immediately

I’m excited to continue this series because ascendance of a bookworm is finishing soon and I need something good to replace and quell my sadness.

💯
Read it on a whim.
Couldn't put it down.
Now read Frieren.
Frieren is also such a good manga and it translated so well to the anime! ❤
Frieren and WHA are my two favorite fantasy series currently running
Reason 1: because it is beautiful and awesome.
Okay, you convinced me!! Off to check this out. Thank you❤
I LOVE this series! :) I think I'm on vol 8? I love the story and the art style :)

Underhyped?? I've been seeing witch hat atelier everywhere! I am not complaining. It has actually gotten me really excited to read it 🤗💖
It is highly critically acclaimed but it is underhyped in pop culture. Compared to some other mediocre shonen stuff.
