What I love about Common's music is that embodies the full spectrum of the African Diasporaic Experience. It's all about oppression, police brutality, economic injustice, poverty, struggle, strained relationships, and having to FIGHT THE POWERS THAT BE 24/7. His music also embodies sex, love, fun, liquor, weed, partying, family, community, success, and so much more. Every element is reflected in COMMON'S MUSIC. He's one of my favorite HIP HOP ARTISTS. COMMON, RICK ROSS, KENDRICK LAMAR, & ICE CUBE are my favorite. COMM & CUBE are legends in this game.

First listened and watched Common on the track Testify. From that point knew there was something about him, although he was physically appealing it was more than that that attracted me. As time has gone on and I'm now the very ripe age of 44 I still feel the same because his flow and presence still remains. He is a lyrical mind that speaks a truth that I agree with, especially the lines "That's why your vaccine I gotta second guess it. We don't know what your shootin' in our black kings and black queens" Hope the Most High blesses me at a chance of meeting him one day just to listen to him speak.
