Sweet single from a great album. It would have deserved a kinder fate on the charts, but then again, this statement could be applied to much of her career...
I remember Kim being interviewed when promoting this song. She was talking about the video's lighting effect to get extreme blacks and whites and less gray. Still a very stylish video! Thanks for posting!
June, 1985 - For the second time Kim co-produced her album : "Barking At Airplanes". "Producing myself was an incredibly big step," she said. "It was the first album where every note was precisely the way I wanted it to sound."
I do remember "One kiss." It's my favourite non-single track off the album. Although years ago, one of my friends who worked for EMI America during this time told me that was planned as being a single. He even did a remix for it which was shelved. So somewhere in the vault there is a Rusty Garner (Endless mix) remix for this song that never surfaced.
So many of her songs after Bette Davis Eyes deserved a better fate! This one I thought along with Crazy in the Night would have been huge hits for her. So much for that theory but glad people are discovering her again.
Kim carnes é a minha cantora preferida. Esse saxofonista da Kim Carnes é surreal o cara é incrível em todo os aspectos simplesmente maravilhoso assim como todas as músicas da Kim Carnes, destaco algumas delas as minhas preferidas: Bette Davis Eyes, Abadabadango, Crazy in The Night, Met You At The Wrong Time Of My Life, Blinded By Love, Its Hurt So Bad, Jamaica Sunday Morning e Paris Whithout You.
This is an amazing track and its chart position @67 is an absolute insult to the song and to Kim Carnes who obviously put everything into the track and album.
A découvrir !
This song is a lot better than its position on Billboard indicated, Kim had a hard time breaking into the top 40 from 1984 on, her music didnt find the right audience for some reason
perhaps the music at that time had passed her by but her music was good and I think this was a better song that Invisible Hands which actually hit number 40
The only time after 84 she had a top 40 hit was "Crazy in the Night" in 1985 which charted #15 on the Pop Charts. "Abadabadango" was not as successful stalling at #67. This should have been as big as "Crazy in the Night", this had a good sound to it and had a beat you can dance to. I love the Barking at Airplanes album and the song crazy in the night, and one kiss, as well as this one Abadabadango.
Just can't believe that so much time has elapsed since this song!!! Guess I stuck my head in the sand and refused to come out until sanity was restored. Well, that didn't happen!!! I'm going back in time!!! Music today is for SUCKAS!!! BYE
Damn can this woman sing ? A very unique voice. Great songs etcetera she had it all.
Still incredibly that voice and song.still listening 2024

I am her biggest fan! Does anyone remember :One Kiss"? I would pay anything to see her in concert But I dont think that will ever happen

metsdudenj i think this song charted just as it should have. It isn't very good and her sound had passed her by by the time 85 had rolled around
perhaps the music at that time had passed her by but her music was good and I think this was a better song that Invisible Hands which actually hit number 40

Concordo! Sou fã dela há muitos anos! ❤
forget billboard.this lp should've spawned seven top ten singles and sold over 3 million. bad publicity ?
Agree!
sehr geiles lied
❤❤❤❤❤
ZEITLOS SCHÖN ❤
@ about 2:47: '80s sax solo!! ;-D
I've just started to become a fan of Kim Carnes. I've avoided Bette Davis Eyes like the plague. I'm loving her other songs so far.
Betty Davis Eyes is an acquired taste. Like a really dry French champagne. But some people like you, enjoy a warm Mountain Dew.
@@MisterMan7516 I can't disagree with that lol
