I work with Dennis McCabe in Inchicore every Thursday. i learn so much from him as a very new volunteer in the Rpsi so it's like working with a encyclopedia
Excellent video Denis & Gerry. Loved the start up in Killucan on the oil with the pair of 141/181's!!
Thanks Eamonn it's really all down to Denis a great camera man captured every type of train and location in Ireland.
Gerry
Lovely to see 142 in service, very elusive loco when the video cameras were out and about.
Nice video what happened to Killculan station did it closed
LOVE THIS STUFF LOTS OF QUESTIONS. ILL START WITH ONE TODAY, SOUNDS LIKE YOU MIGHT KNOW. DID CIE OR IRISH RAIL BUY A FLEET OF CARRIAGES WHEN DELIVERED WHERE FOUND TO BE TO WIDE FOR OUR PLATFORMS. THEY WHERE THEN CUT UP AND BURIED IN THE INCHICORE WORKS. COULD BE A MYTH.
Myth for sure
@@gerryconmy It happened in France ua-cam.com/video/-B_k8W1P2KU/v-deo.html
At Monasterevin Railway Station in 2002, did it have the footbridge with lifts on them or was it just a normal footbridge and they changed it later on?
Not sure
any idea why the two trains at Killucan were signalled through the loop when there didn't seem to be any need for it?
No idea
Testing the points...
It's I believe called a 'rusty rail move'
