They were neat shows. They were regional, so each part of the country, each major city anyway, had a slightly different show. They'd have big stories, that every PM Magazine show had, then local stories, unique to the local viewing areas of each show.
Had a big ol' crush on Missy Gold back in the day, she's a year older than me. 😁 Glad to see she landed on her feet....many child stars don't, unfortunately.
I remember these two co-hosts, but for other reasons: David worked on the short-lived "World of People" [1980-81] from "PM Magazine" creator Bill Hillier. Sandie went on to be the original host of "Hollywood Insider" a bit later in the '80s on USA Network, then ended up on a TV station in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. I think she was more recently a regular on Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family".
What I have noticed is that Kirk Cameron's mom has blonde hair, as does Tracey Gold's mother, so it's very believeable and appropriate that Joanna Kerns could play their mother. I thought that casting at Growing Pains was amazing. Alan Thicke was even believeable as their father.
I remember PM Magazine in Charlotte NC, had a contest. The winner got to go to China with the crew. I remember each show was usually hosted by a male and a female.
I just saw a episode of eight is enough with 2 girls that looked like the Gold sisters in it. I wasn't sure if that was them until I saw their names were Missy and Tracey in the episode
Apparently Tracey's struggles with anorexia throughout her teens wasn't enough for her parents to pull her from the business. Gotta keep that money coming in, no matter what it does to the child. I like that Missy did go to Yale and become a psychotherapist.
Tracey has said that she struggled with her weight and body image long before she became famous. Tracey wanted to be an actress, loves acting and has said she couldn't do anything else.
Thank you so much. How I miss shows like these. The 80's were definitely a "Golden Age'' for t.v. the BEST shows on T.V. History.
Glad you enjoyed it
Now aged 51, I'm so warmed by simpler retro television. Never seen this show (in the UK). But still enjoyed this short clip of the show. 😏
Thank you so much, Mickey.
MickeyDJ1 Im 56, turning into an old man. I too long for these days. Was a special time. No triggers, and self respect in public still reigned.

Steve Byrd They were excellent people to work with!

Yes, exactly. It was a national show with local hosts that shared stories. An interesting concept.
@@louisepalanker yes. It should be brought back. I feel, even as a child, it broadened my horizons. Always something to learn.
"My Mommy has decided....and my Daddy, also...have decided we can do this as long as we stay normal."
Missy was the cutest Gold sister!!
Anyone happen to know where to get old episodes of PM Magazine? I am looking for the one filmed in Danville Illinois.
These Sisters are as good as gold.
That is so awesome. What shall we tell them about the future?
I just saw a episode of eight is enough with 2 girls that looked like the Gold sisters in it. I wasn't sure if that was them until I saw their names were Missy and Tracey in the episode
Oh, wow. It may have been them.
It was them, I looked it up
@@daved1535 Oh, awesome.
19:09 He was in the Monster Squad
Those two little girls Tracey and Missy Gold are now in fifties?
That sounds about right.
Yeeeeah, Burt. Get it!
Do you have one for MJ?
No, I don't. Just The Cowsills.

@@ddjmfan What she wanted should not have become before her health.
When you're 8, you have no say if your parents force you into the business. She liked acting because she was told to like acting.
She was pulled out of acting when they found out about her eating disorder.
Actually Melissa went to George Town University & California school of professional psychology not Yale!
Sandie's pink Barbie hot pants are too hot for TV!
