    Made the big mistake of buying Bosch (most premium model) after leaving my amazing 12 year old Miele’s behind when we moved country. Bosch is not comparable to Miele machines. Lots of functions not available, no soak function, poor stain removal. The dryer does not reverse tumble so sheets crumple into a ball and dry unevenly. Hate them. Will be buying Miele when we move home again next year.

    Miele is a premium brand while Bosch is just a regular brand.

      It’s also weird seeing all these people say they’ve had so many problems with Bosch in the states, maybe they aren’t built as well over there? But they’re known as being among the most reliable here in the UK, for good reason.

    I got my Miele W1 washer and T1 dryer in January 2019 and they are an exceptional combo. Washer works great and my white t-shirts have never been whiter. The dryer is excellent and takes no more time to dry than the vented Whirlpool I replaced. There does appear to be a bug in the washer - probably a glitch in the motherboard. When I try to use the prewash function the washer will stop and say "water intake problem," although the intake is fine. I simply turned it off and restart a "normal" cycle and it's fine. Other than that little glitch, machine is solid (you really don't need prewash anyway). Also, if you use Express mode and set soil to "light," you have a 20 minute short wash cycle. Last, if you have dirty work rags or towels, use the Sanitize wash cycle. It's 3 hours and the water gets really hot but your towels come out nice and clean.

    I purchased Bosch when moving into our new home in 2019. The purchase was for a Washing Machine, condenser dryer with heat pump, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The fridge part of the fridge freezer kept freezing things so that had to be replaced after 18months, a lot of hassle and having to contact Bosch numerous times. The washing machine went wrong at three years old and even though it was just out of the standard warranty with about thirty phone calls to Bosch and a lot of hassle we got a new machine, but it took six weeks to arrive.
    I definitely would consider Miele over Bosch, Bosch apparently are better than cheap brands. However Miele is apparently top of the line, now I believe it would have been worth the extra money.

      @@aammssaamm Maybe because the consumers whom normally buy Miele are so old that they don't know what the internet is and where to complain? 😁 I'm a big fan of Miele, but they're not free from issues either, especially their newer models. Our Miele T 8823 C dryer died at only 10 years old, while the BOSCH washing machine started having issues pumping out the water after 15 years of almost daily service. Older Miele's (with less electronics) needed their brushes replaced at ~25 years, but besides that they were practically indestructible.

    weve had heat pumps in the UK since around 2007 (the first being Electrolux, followed very closely by Bosch) I've had them personally since 2011, and i will not go back. Heat pumps can be made bigger so Bosch and whirlpool could make a 'American' sized heat pump dryer to match their 'American' sized Front load washers. at the minute the Bosch and Miele's on sale here are just European imports.

    I have heard the drum is only turning one way around, meaning that pants, sheets and so on, can look like a twisted rope when the clothes are taken out, while other brands, alternate between the two direction and thereby avoid "rope" clothes? :-)

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  2 роки тому +3

      Yes, there are units on the market that tumble in both directions but tangled clothes is usually more of an issue with a load more so than the machine. Mixing heavier things with lights can often lead to tangled clothes.

    I appreciate very much your comparison. I have gradually replaced every kitchen appliance with a Bosch. Very happy with them. Now I need a new washer and dryer for my old bright red Samsung laundry set that lasted me 13 years! If I hadn’t started using too much detergent I may have gotten more years out of it. Anyway, what to buy now? I want 1) reliable that 2) cleans well. May I ask your recommendation?

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  2 роки тому +2

      Not sure if you are talking compact laundry or full size. If compact, every customer is a candidate for Miele. They make the best laundry, compact or otherwise on the market. If full size (since you have red Samsung's I think you might), the GE85 set is the best most feature rich full size laundry on the market. Just be sure the bigger dimension can fit in your space.

    @Yale Applicance Is AEG a brand that's being sold over there in the US? Or is that maybe sold under a different name over there? It's part of the Electrolux Group, I think. Here in the EU Bosch and Miele are considered to be the top brands also. I am very pleased with your channel and the data it provides. Am I correct in remembering, from another video, you get about 40K service calls each year in total for all brands? Or are those 40K on-site calls? I'm wondering which brand has the best percentage when calls that need someone on-site are considered solely. I would guess that Bosch and Miele still end up close together but that assumption could be very wrong, of course.

    made a mistake of buying a Bosch for my 2nd home. the thing washes just fine, and was inexpensive, but when it finishes it emits very loud, unpleasant beeps that continue for a longer while until one shuts down the machine or opens the door. there is no way to turn this 'feature' off. feels anti-user and hostile, the engineers must never have used their own products themselves. after that, no more Bosch anything for me. my 20 year old Miele laundry machine works just as quietly as it did when we bought it - it was a 1.5k top of the line option back then, and when the technician came to inspect it last year for residue detergents stuck in the hoses - they told us it has another 15 years of useful life in it. the Bosch is getting replaced with a Miele next week.

      I'm a big fan of Miele, but if you expect their newer appliances to live as long as their older ones, you'll be coming home from a rude awakening. They're still high quality, but their failure rate has gone up throughout the years. Also, you're probably comparing apples to oranges. Only on entry models without Wi-Fi you can't control the beeps. Those entry models are half the price of an entry Miele, so that isn't a fair comparison.

    Currently the house we moved into has a stackable Frgidaire. Don't think they make these anymore and clothes get snagged and come out wrinkled from dryer. My current washer is 3.5 and the dryer not sure but think it may be bigger.
