Good to see that these machines are still in use today and that more and more young farmers are ditching the million dollar computerised machines in favour of the classic long lasting machines.
I very much enjoy all the older combines. The side hill combines are interesting to watch the suspension on on hills. Really cool to see the old school JD rocking the tracks. GO BTP!!!
The hillside combines are neat. It was exciting to get the 7722 and 1470 as they were running in side by side fields.
Yes, I absolutely love to see more classic, combines, and even tractors
👍👍
I remember the days when farmers had self propelled combines in the early sixties, which I thought was really neat. I was still using a pull type Massey Harris. In my 20's I started using an International 101. I found out sitting up on the platform right behind the header with no cab was not so great after all. THANK GOD for air conditioned cabs!
I noticed the New Holland turned around on the lawn. if I did that my grandmother would have shot me right on the spot!
The 1470 international and the 7722 john deere were great finds . Never knew they were made . Rare combines . Great video !
Very rare. The great thing was they were running in fields right next to each other.
Boy this takes one back to when farmers were real farmers.
When I was growing up, I'm 65 now, my grandfather has a massy 300 then up graded to the tr70. Never picked corn just harvested oats and soybeans. He ear picked corn with a mounted 2 row picker on a farmall then upgraded that to a deere mounted on a 4010. He was a dairy farmer that came from Iowa to Minnesota with a cow, a hog, 38 cents in his pocket and my grandmother! That was 1938 and he farmed until he was 88. Tough old dude!
Great history. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome video and history lesson ! Reminds me of my childhood on our farm and when the harvesters showed up,
I would run out of the house to watch ! These combines are exactly how I remember them !
What workmanship seen! Lovely
The 3300 was neat to see. A guy near us had one with a Cab, and he had the M&W kit added to the head that was supposed to keep beans feeding nicer.
The 6600 has always been my favorite, I grew up riding in one and purchased one this year as a working toy, I plan to harvest wheat with it this coming year
Thank you for capturing some rare old machinery still earning a living for us! Look forward to 2023!
My first combines were two case 600 one had a grain head and the other had a two row corn head. Grain head combine had no cab the corn head machine had a cab. Gas engine’s no luxury but got the job done. I’ll never forget the good old days!
Case combines were popular in the area I grew up in. With in 3 miles of my house was a Case 1060, 660 and 600 on three different farms. I am always on the hunt to film Case combines. I have filmed a 600, 960, 1160 and 1660.
Sinceramente da gusto ver tus vídeos especialmente de máquinas antiguas en orden de marcha y aún trabajando. Un saludo
Loved that 3300 no cab, back in 1977 Dad bought a new 6600 and the neighbor bought a 3300, his had a cab though it was the only one i ever saw in action, man at the time i thought the 4400 looked small but the 3300 was really small but a pretty cool machine. great video keep up the good work, today we run two S780s
Hey these old classics are really neat, thanks Jason. I’m a gleaner guy myself and we still run gleaners on our farm.
I am looking forward to making a 100 years of Gleaner video in 2023. What model Gleaners do you run?
@@bigtractorpower we have a 1993 R52 and a 2002 R72. Our R52 has a 70th anniversary logo on each side of the cab.
Gleaner C !! wild find . worked for a Gleaner garage yrs ago . loved the few i worked on .
I would like to more early Gleaners for 100 Years of Gleaner in 2023.
I like all of them especially the hillside John Deere combines.
👍👍
It would be neat to see a 95 john deere combine to the 9rx combine in the same field with all generations of combines in between in
staggered formation.
agree.... I still own one (of 2) 95's my dad had
Where in the world did you find a 7722!?! Weren’t there only around one hundred ever built. Crazy!
The farm in this video just bought a second 7722 a few weeks ago. They farm in Oregon.
I enjoyed the video. I used to operate a 300 Massy Ferguson for a neighbour, and like the on in this video it had the Scour Klean unit on it. It's a shame that the technology fell out of favour, the Scour Klean removed a lot of weed seed from the fields. Plus were great for harvesting small seed like clover. Excellent video.
Really cool combines. Never seen a 4425 deere combine before.
The 4425 was the entry level model in the Titan II combine years. It was built in Germany and replaced the 4420.
Good video as always. Showed a couple I started with on it. John Deere 45 & a Massey Ferguson 300.
Very cool.
Our first self-propelled combine was a JD45, like the one at the 3 minute mark. Without tracks.
The 2 row corn head resulted in the rear tire running down the adjacent unpicked row if you were going the wrong way on a tight curve on our 80 ft. wide contour strips in SE Minnesota.
rất tuyệt vời cổ máy lớn
😁👍👍
Thank You
Thank you for watching.
Awesome and unique video! Idk y, but the one that caught my eye was the JD 7722. Your thumbnail 3300 OS was a heck of a find too…immaculate & unique; I’ve never seen one. Very cool.
Thank you for watching. The 7722 is one of the rarest combines in John Deere’s 75 years of self propelled combine history. Customers could order the 00 series combines with out a cab. Very few did. I have seen open station 3300 and 6600s in sales literature.
@@bigtractorpower 👍🏻👍🏻
My grandfather had an 300 Massey Ferguson combine..I think it was an 300..can't remember if it was gas or diesel tho..sounded like a gas burner when it was running..I was a kid..ha..still awesome to see these older machines still in operation..😎👊
I think it would be cool to see what Canada has for farming equipment
My great-uncle's bean picker was an open cab case. A four cylinder with a bore like a coffee can. He picked all the way into the 1978 harvest with it. That's a rough day on that platform.
Great finds. You can tell some of these machines were built for all purpose and no looks...
Great old machines, hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and holiday period. Regards from Down Under.
Never seen a John Deere 45 With steal tracks on it before . That was way cool. Happy holidays thanks for sharing
It is a cool classic set up.
3300 John Deere. Show some 7720 combines with the yellow top on the cab.Merry Christmas.
The 7720 Turbo is one of my all time favorites. I did not get to film one in 2022.
Mesin combine yang bagus, Terima kasih sudah berbagi moment yang bermanfaat teman 👍
Thank you for watching. 👍👍👍
Great video, my hope is to see Massey 510. I operated a MF 510 in the early 70’s. I really enjoy your channel. Happy New Year.
I definitely want to find more Massey Combines to feature. The 510 would be a great one to film.
Farmed with pull type Baldwins, Case and mounted 2-row JD mounted corn picker on a 520 JD. My first self-propelled was 1962 round back JD 55 used for wheat and Milo(Heston heads). Next was a 1958 JD 55 round back with a 210 corn head bought used. After that several JD 95s with feeder house conversion for 444 corn head and 454 bean head. Last was JD 7700.
What a great history in combines. Very cool on the pull type Baldwins. Gleaner is marking 100 years of combine production in 2023. I plan to film a special 100th Anniversary Gleaner this June harvesting wheat. I filmed a few 75th Anniversary John Deere combines in 2022. It was neat that you development from the pull type days to the big 7700
The 45 EB on tracks was my favorite
We had a 95 round back gas and a 105 diesel in the 80s
I'm a John Deere man but I like all of them
😁👍👍
Green, it's all in the Green!
There is green along with silver, two brands of red and yellow.
Those machines albeit small gathered a lot of food for people and animals alike for a lot of years...
That they did.
Honestly never seen a 4425 John Deere. That’s way cool didn’t even know they were made
I had a Massey 300, it had the Chrysler slant 6 engine, great for my smaller farm. and, that 6 was cheap to run and always dependable.
The gleaner seemed and sounded nicest machine🌄🌄 to me.
The C and CII were good combines.
another rare find would be a Oliver 5555 only seen videos of this combine!!!! l will be watchin!!! oh yea more gleaners LOL!!!!!!!
I have filmed an Oliver 7800 but I have not come across a 5555. Hopefully some day one turns up.
Lo mejor del mundo
😁👍👍 Thank you for watching.
The 45 EB ...Interesting machine
Interesting set up for the edible bean machine.
I love all combines, but the titan series are my favorite
Titans are one of my favorites too
Would liked to have seen more of the 2 row pullbine at the very first and the 1470 on a slope. Then a sample of what the Massey was mowing in the meadow!
The good news is the No. 42 pull type combine is fully featured in this video I posted ua-cam.com/video/lg1FU-8K69M/v-deo.html
The 1470 and 300 will be featured in their own videos next summer during wheat season.
These are all great classics. Good video
Thank you for watching.
i remember grandpa telling me back when he had an old open station combine, steering wheel in one hand and shotgun in the other shooting rabbits, good times he said
bet the tracks on that 45 really sucked power when there was none to spare! nice to see the old girls out doing their stuff.
Great video, three of those combines had different tyres from the rest, looked like the tyres that guys doing grass or lawn work would use,not the usual normal farming tyres.
The Hillside combines use a diamond turf tire for improved traction. The turf tire has more surface to ground tension than an ag tire with deeper lugs.
Always like the Gleaners. I’m an AC fan.
Great combines.
I gotta go with the 3300 I still use mine it's a 1974 model Diesel with cab & AC 13ft bean head & 244 corn head it has almost 2500 hours on it
Nice video.
I would like to see some IH 915 or 815, some MF750 or 760, some more Gleaners, some New Hollands (Clayson), some Fords (Claas), and some Whites or Olivers, all from the first half of the 1970's before the rotary combines were introduced.
Seeing the massy 300 combine . Dad had a Massey 410 gas that he bought from a good farmer friend back in the late 80’s early 90’s. Has some bugs that need worked out an had a header for oats that we use to have back in the day.
Very cool. Massey has built some great combines. I am always on the hunt to film more.
@@bigtractorpower 👍🏾
Need more Gleaners.
I agree. I am always on the hunt for them. I have a pair of C62 Gleaners filmed.
Did not get to spend any time on the C series Gleaner but i did on the next series Gleaners the G's and some on the M's brings back lots of good memories .
I am looking forward to making a 100 years of Gleaner video in 2023.
1955 John Deere 55 round back. Ran one a lot in the 70s early 80s
Stay tuned for 75 Years of John Deere combines in a future video for that very 55.
Seems like driver is awfully exposed to the elements dust ,bees,on that one tractor without cab .
I love your big tractor videos
Love the farmers ,god bless them please and their families in these difficult times seems our own government disrespects them our military, and first responders so much .
The backbone of America without a doubt
Older combines are just awesome😁👍 I like the older axial flows, hopefully you will get the opportunity to film some of them next year👍😉
Great video👍👍
I am excited to say BTP has filmed a 1420,1440, 1460, 1470, 1480 and a 1482.
Would love to see a Ford combine
I filmed a 642 in 2019. I am a Ford fan. I hope to find more to film.
Can't decide, give thumps up for all👍.
Would like to see some more action of JD 5200/5400 SPFH if possible some day.
Thanks BTP for sharing!
Stay tuned. 50 years of John Deere self propelled forage harvesters is on the way here on BTP.
@@bigtractorpower juchuu, thank you so much, can't hardly wait.
What is the bag on the side of the MF 300?
Merry Christmas BTP and family. 🙂
Merry Christmas. Thank you for watching so many BTP videos.
@@bigtractorpower I never miss one!
Definitely the MF 860, great machine in the wheat. John T.
The 860s really stand out.
The 860 looked absolutely massive
Hi Bigtractorpower good video. Did newholland make twin rotar combines right from the beginning? Just curious
New Holland acquired Claeys in 1966. Claeys was a European combine company . The Claeys combines were painted yellow. In 1968 they were imported to the United States and painted red. In 1975 the TR70 was introduced. Built in Grand Island, NE it was the first rotary combine.
We used to have a 4400 and 4425 John Deere for as long as I could remember before we upgraded to a 7720 titan II and man were they the goofiest looking combines I’ve ever seen drone Deere
From*
The 4425 is different. A farm I grew up by had a 4400 and 4420. They traded the 4400 for a 4425 in 1987. I had heard many farmers were frustrated by the metric tools need to work on the 4425 and 4435. The farm I mentioned stayed with smaller combines. They currently run a 9570STS and S550.
Do the diamond stud tires work better in a hillside application?
Yes they do. You can order modern combines with Diamond turf tires for hillside applications today.
I liked the jd side hill bought a corn head at a farm that had a jd 4425
Jason we had a Tr 70 new holland combine
Very cool. I was excited to film this one in early December. They are harder to find these days.
What was that massey at the end even harvesting? Looked like he was harvesting johnson grass
It was harvesting oats. When oats dry down they often have weeds and grass grow up in them.
Me RECUERDA mi JD 55 con 2 hileras de.maíz !!! Alla por los años 1970 ....
What is the crop the Massey 300 was combining? It was the last one on the video.
It was harvesting oats. Oats get allot weed pressure when they dry down.
Ok the green threw me off
I alway like to see the older model Deere like the 7720 and 8820
Me too. I am always on the hunt for 7720s and 8820s. I just put out an 8820 video a few weeks ago posted at ua-cam.com/video/-NJfRYz9hOU/v-deo.html
We had a Massey 300 open station. Cockle bur's would hit ya right in the nose off the reel. Fun! I rode behind my dad. He would let me drive while he jumped off and walked around and checked behind us . Literally the first machine I ever drove by myself. I was 5.
We had one, it was the first corn combine we had. Never drove it, my brother and I ran the NI mounted picker whenever we were home from school to fill cribs and my Dad and grandfather filled our first bins. They were put up in 1966, some of the first in our area. Eventually traded for a MF 510 which was the first combine I operated. Had problems, eventually went to JD, 6600, 6620 and 8820.
I had 2 JD 45's and 1 JD 3300.
Very cool. Thank you for sharing.
Anyone have an idea why the first hillside Deere unit runs turf style tires VS lug tires? I’d guess better traction but if the tread fills with some mud wouldn’t it slide sideways down the slope? Just curious.
The turf tire surprisingly grips better. You will see even on modern hillside combines rear turf tires and maybe even front dual turf tires.
I bought a lawn and garden tractor with ag tires and a snow plow and wow I will run right through the snow. All the ag tires do is spin and spin. The tractor will not move an inch with out chains. I have seen models on turf tires with no chains cruise through the snow.
I would love to see an IH 915.
Me too. I am searching for one to film.
I use a John Deere 55 with a3 row corn head and a 13 ft grain head
Very nice.
I'm still using a JD 4400 diesel here in western PA. It's a good old machine. I enjoy seeing all the older combines. I like the 4425 and have a chance to buy one at a decent price, but the parts scare me - It's a German-made machine.
First combine I drove was a massy Harris 780 special 50+ years ago
Very cool.
How about the rare l4 glearner
Do any of the manufacturers still make a hillside combine ?
No. Hillco builds kits for several modern combines to run hillsides.
Case-IH has leveling cleaning area, others may also. That is adequate for midwestern use, but would not be enough for the Palouse area out west.
Thats a C2 Gleaner, made from 64 to 67. The flairs on the grain bin is the difference. From 60 bu on the C to 85 bu on the C2. Would like to see more Gleaners on the channel!
I took a guess and was worried it was a C2. There were no decals on the combine showing it was a C or C2. I guessed based on the shape of the rear end. Thank you for the information. I am glad to report two C62 Gleaners were filmed for BTP this year that will be published next July. My local dealer has two 100th Anniversary Gleaners in order so they are a top priority for 2023 filming.
I would have to say the 300 is my favorite! Well maybe that's a bit bias I suppose. Hard to not like your own machine.
Very nice combine Rusty. Thank you for having John out to film it. There will be a full 300 feature next summer.
I'm not sure you can apply the label "classic" to a combine that has a cab and a folding unloading auger. Only the JD 45 would qualify in my book.
I was hoping to see a JD 55 like the ones we used when I was growing up on a farm in northern California, harvesting barley and corn.
Anything over 25 years old is considered classic. The 1970’s combines are approaching 50 years old quickly.
I did not film a 55 this year but I do have a video posted on a 55EB at ua-cam.com/video/N8vMvQNdheo/v-deo.html
@@bigtractorpower Thanks for the link. It's great to see it. I'll leave a comment there too.
Hey Jason....what is a 4425 John Deere, looks nothing like the other models from this generation? Is it European model that was brought to America?
Yes the 4425 was built in Germany. It was the direct replacement for the 4420. When the 9000 series Maximizers came out in 1989 the 4425 became the 4435.
Remember the European models used a different number.
$18,000 for a 3300 was a lot of money Then.
Yes it was.
Youll have to come video my 6600 next year im wheat, be the second year of owning it but might be last, may be upgrading to a 8820 after it
The 6600 is one of the all time greats. The 8820 is a super classic. Drop me an email at toytractortimes@gmail.com
Still running a massy 850 love it
👍👍👍
The last Massey looks cool
The 300 was a popular small acre combine.
I used a massey Ferguson 300
Very cool. It seems to have been a popular seller for Massey.
Always love the Massey's. The ol 860 was gettin it! Merry Christmas Jason!
God bless everyone! Please make sure you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour everyone! He is coming very soon! Please don't be left behind! Repent and accept Jesus! JESUS LOVES YOU! John 3:16, Revelation 20:15, 1 Corrinthians 15 1-4
Can I stay back and keep working and drinking?? I mostly enjoy that!!!
Jesus doesn’t leave anyone behind! Stop spreading lies! He died on the cross for EVERYONE!!
@@The_pipeliner hope he picks me!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😬
@@The_pipeliner Jesus died for everyone thats true, but you have to believe and put your whole trust and faith in him to accept that gift
@@aidencrawford3487 now that sounds like a dictator to me. Rather sadistic to be honest.
My dad had a 3300 with a cab, I think it was a 1970. Does Turbo mean that one had a diesel? I thought they were all gas, and I definitely don't remember any without a cab. He traded it for a 1972 4400 in 1974.
Or a 1470 international
what the heck only one Gleaner?????? my first combine was aC and the unloading drive was different that looks like a Cll to me and also l didnt know you could put a two row head on a C. could this be a A???? also l learn that JD made a 7700 hillside l thought it was only aviable in the 6600!! so l learned something!!! l will be watchin!!! would like to know more about the Gleaner in this video!!!!
I am a Gleaner fan. Unfortunately with out a model number on the combine I was left guessing if it was a C or CII. I guessed wrong. A pair of C62 Gleaners were filmed this year that will be in a 100 Years of Gleaner video in 2023. The C62 is just about to reach the classic mark of 25 years next year.
no can would be absolutely unbearable in the wind and dust i don’t know how they managed to sit on one all day long
Is the JD 4425 European
Yes it was built in Germany and replaced the 4420.
