ohhh, it brings me back to my youth. I am today 67 years old and in 1972 as a 14-year-old boy I started on a farm where I stayed for 4 years. We had 140 acres of land that we harvested with an 8 foot massey ferguson 87 Diesel. Harvest time was the big time for me when I was allowed to drive the Massey Ferguson 87 4 cyl. Perkins. It was a fantastic combine, it always ran and we never had heating problems like the class and others had, as the Massey Ferguson had a rotating drum in front of the radiator which meant that it never got hot. It's wonderful to see that you don't let go of what was before. A warm greeting from Denmark.
In Brazil, we have modern harvesters with 62-foot cutting platforms. This makes harvesting faster, since soybeans are harvested in December/January and then the 100-day corn crop is planted. In short, soybeans are harvested during the rainy season, which only ends a few days before the corn harvest. Machines with 2 soybean and corn platforms cost approximately $500,000, which can be financed over 10 years with a 1-year grace period and annual installments. Today, interest rates are 0.45% per month.
Interesting , Thank You. So Many of there I have never heard of . I have Never heard of the John Deere 970 , I had a New Holland 1500 but it had a Cat 3208 , I also owned a JD 7700 Turbo . which replaced my Dad's 995 , NH. We also had a Jd 95
Thanks for sharing. Machinery is nice to have, until of course crap breaks..lol. inerways it shows how far we went from society. Earlier before it was all done by hands, then it began machines, that seemed big then. Nowadays we have machinery at least here in America, ten times bigger. Compared to the machinery that the old timers had 50, 60+ years ago. P,s thats the thing about agriculture or just farming in general, is to teach the history about it.
One of those 21 was actually a 21A it had an auger in the header not canvas like 21. The silver 21 was restored by Ron Knight. The original 21 belongs to Arthur Hinch. Plus Andrew Blaggs machine is show. In fact im sure some of the footage was shot by me back when he had just restored it.
@agroenfocoenglish seriously our one went on fire ,I went running with an extinguisher and my father wouldn't let me try to put it out .went to newholland then claas .both good particularly the latter .
I might have watched these classic machines working away. That irritating, annoying, loud, totally unnecessary background noise some people's kids call music. Keep that crap at home!👎
How did I end up watching this crap…. Didn’t know that bands set up in fields and played music when harvesting???? FFS….. NH 1530 great machine….. Belgian Built….

Um, not really. Try fixing an American made vehicle and you will discover that we use metric bolts. Same holds true for our tractors and combines.
