    Thanks for this great tutorial.
    What kind of boat are you using?
    Has this boat more benefits then a bellyboat?
    kind regards

    Iv been a pike fisherman since I was able to talk, I'm well versed on the different techniques with plenty of fish accounted for and as part of my ever-growing curiosity of these magnificent animals iv decided to have a go on the fly, I'm using a wf9 rod and reel with a flaoting line also a 9 weight. Iv tied a 4ft leader but the question I ask is how do you get around the issue of nearby tree's and snags when casting, I can place a spinner or a wobbled sprat in the most intricate of places but the fear of casting in confined areas scares me. Iv even slowed down some videos to study how the line acts under tension/casting etc. I'm in the UK and my practice water is a canal with any new rig or lure, maybe 15ft at the widest point. Can anyone help?

      Well that is a problem since pikeflies often are to big to switch or roll cast. perhaps get a really short skagit setup with a head of 4-5 meters. that is my best guess

    Please don't use a 6 or 7 weight , unless you want to play your fish to death .

    • @NordicAnglers
      @NordicAnglers  4 роки тому

      Hello Derek. You cant say it like that. You can play a big fish fast with a 6 wt. With a pike leader you can put a lot of pressure on even a big fish with a 6 wt. The biggest reason to go for heavier gear is to cast big flies not due to time it takes to land the fish.

      @@NordicAnglers ridiculous reply . You know very well to target Pike using such a light rod is mental .

    Hi, Daniel and thx for a good video. I just bought a float tube and a bunch of pike flyes (Before I saw this video). One question. Maybe I didn´t hear it but a 9 foot 5/6 is that ok for pike fishing with relative big flyes? : Thor

    • @NordicAnglers
      @NordicAnglers  6 років тому +1

      Well Thor. if you only make flash flies you can swing them with a 5 or 6. but for the big badass monsters you need something with more power. GL with the float tube it is fun :)
