    Hello, I purchased one of these units used and found that it is missing the seals that cover the bearings. Do you know where I could find a part number for them?
    Also, I ran into you while you were filming your first Ray Roberts fishing video. Small world! Keep up the videos, this one helped me out a lot. My drive works but is very noisy, you helped me figure out how to disassemble and clean the unit without damaging it

      To be honest with you. The latest and greatest pedal drives that are coming out of China, are not coming with the rubber seals like the originals. The difference is that they’re coming out with a double bearing on each side and then the cover. Go to a swimming pool supplier and purchase the grease that they use for the seals before you assemble the filters. Fill that area up with the grease before you put the cover on there. Technically…… that part of the unit never gets submerged so the grease will keep the rainwater and dust from going in there. You should be just fine plus it helps lubricate the bearings. You might consider upgrading your kayak to a trolling motor. Check out my videos on how to get that done. You can always order the adapter from me. Remember if you live here in Texas, you’ll have to register it once you upgrade to any type of motor and follow all the other Coast Guard requirements.

      @@garzaoutdoorsproductions thanks for the reply. My other yak has a trolling motor on it, I bought this one because I wanted to get some more exercise while I'm out and not have to deal with setting up the motor and battery every time I go out. If I end up deciding I want to use my trolling motor on my pedal yak I'll definitely reach out to you for an adapter! Tight lines

      @@garzaoutdoorsproductions okay one more question. I found that one of the bearings is bent, I took it to a hardware store but they didn't have any that size. Do you know the size or where I can get a new set?

      @@ryrythepiegy I’ve never had to buy one because the manufacture always supplies me with what I need. You can also try a hobby shop, or Bearing Dynamics in North Dallas. Just take one of the good ones with you so they can compare and measure it with the caliper.

      @@ryrythepiegy One more thing if you could purchase them sealed that would be fantastic. A sealed bearing won’t allow water or dust to go in. That would be one heck of a upgrade

      I now use a pulley puller. put the screw about 1/4 back in and then use the puller to pull it off.

    Where can I get a replacement belt at

    • @garzaoutdoorsproductions
      @garzaoutdoorsproductions  3 роки тому +1

      The new belts say GANGDA HTD5M-1295. The old one was a 1300. I believe the size has something to do with millimeters. If you take a new belt and you stretch it and measure it with a standard tape measure it measures 25 1/4 inches. Just in case you want to try to find one at the auto parts store. If you get one too loose it will slip on you and wear out quicker. If you get one too tight you’ll never be able to reassemble the lower unit. I’ll give you a hint. Do not install the bearings on the pedal shaft until after the lower unit is Assembled and installed. Also once you feed the belt to the lower unit tested as if you’re peddling to make sure the belt down in the lower unit turns counterclockwise. Otherwise your propeller will work in reverse.

    3:55 If the flat part goes down while the unit is upside down?... should have said flat part goes towards the top of the unit and point out that it is upside down
