Incredible. Every time I watch it. I really wish TSCC had been MARKETED as a show with depth and intriguing characters rather than just as an action show.
One of my favourite moments of the show. Love how terrified Dereck is by what hes seeing, all the stuff he has seen in his life and that scares him. That Terminators, Cameron especially, are more than just mindless killing machines. More human-like than he ever thought.
Agreed. Probably the best scenes in the series thus far. Chopin's Nocturne in C sharp + dancing Summer Glau = Likely one of the most beautiful things anyone will ever see ever.
I love this show, but I would have to say this is my favorite scene so far. Because Summer is so graceful and the music she danced to was very appropreite
Considering how much the 2nd Arnie Terminator in T2 developed, learning to understand emotions and so on, I'm surprised Sarah seems to have forgotten these are learning machines.
Yeah, after watching the episode again when Derek was held prisoner I did notice the song she dances to is the same one. It took me awhile to get used to the actors playing these characters i know in T1 & T2 but I LOVE THE SHOW!
This may seem a little too much but: It's so ironic that Summer Glau is a professional ballet dancer and also gets picked to play as the Terminator. This scene is so perfect to compliment what Sarah Connor is saying. Beautiful, emotional, and legendary scene. XD
Well, she's the one who said it ended her career. *shrug* I do know that broken big toes have ended quite a number of ballerinas' careers, because sometimes they heal wrong and can't support the weight they used to.
I don't know if you noticed, but the song she dances to is the same one that was playing in the room where Derrek was taken while being held prisoner. And keep in mind when he saw her for the first time, he knew she was a toaster. Cameron also mentioned that everything from her "past" has been erased when she was reprogrammed to help John. I'm thinking that she was the one who tortured Derrek or whatever happened, and the song still has meaning to her...
That scene freaks me out. The idea that, if they can mimic us so well, so perfectly, enough to evoke emotions. What the hell does that make us? *shudders*
I think it is the best scene ever.~!!! This scene express vague borderland between wellmade machine and human by showing his agonized expression after watching machine's beautiful dance. anyway~ summer glau is absolutely fantastic ballerina~!!!!
agreed. this is why the writers decided to give terminators the ability to "choose", as we saw in that submarine mission episode. there are terminators that chose to go against their programming given to them by skynet
For someone who hasn't danced in 10 years, Summer is superb! And her extension! I'm teaching this to myself, and I can't do the développe écarte devant as well as her, and I'm a dancer currently!
If you listen to the monologue (which is difficult when caught up in Summer's movement), Sarah says basically, that Humans will always be more than Machines, because we can see beauty and grace, it's what makes a Soul. If Machines find that beauty and grace they become us. Therefore they would become the dominant species. Like how cro-magnon man thrived and neaderthal disappeared. He sees man's end in her grace.
@vyxtouch Cameron(Summer Glau) is a terminator, a robot. Derek pretty much hate all robots, even if they are working for the cause of humans. He's a big believer that robots will never be able to be like humans and act like them. Seeing Cameron dance the ballet as beautiful as a human being made him either wonder if he was wrong or fear that they(the robots) might take the place of humans someday. (that's my opinion of course)
this means that she's actually assimilitaing the humans and if you listened to the voice over of Sarah Connors, it's about Machines unable to appreciate art and if they did they wouldn;'t have to destroy us: but after that voice over you can see Cameron doing ballet...and Derek crying because he remembered the music when he was back in the dungeon...and perhaps he saw something that gave him the chills...in short...Cameron's mission may be to learn how to be human
im a ballerina and i had no idea summer was a ballerina too! thats so awesome. she has such a great body i feel so out of shape haha. i love her in terminator!
This scene is just that more intense if you know what happened to the woman who taught her ballet. =[ Brian Austin Green's acting in here is also very deep, his conflict multi-layered, given what his character has been through in the machine-governed future.
On T3, after Dyson's death, it fell into the hands of Robert Brewster the head of United States Air Force's Cyber Research Systems. In the future he is John's father-inlaw because he is married to his daughter Katherine, whom John met back in JR high while Sarah was locked up at the mental hospital.
derek is crying because the machine in cameron is turning more and more human and blending in which to him means the end of the world again and that scares the shit outta him.
@gloriakenny I'm not under the impression that they'll resurrect the show, but it does help to show them (Fox/WB) that there's a market for good shows and may influence programming decisions in the future.
Ballets do have stories. It's just sometimes they're not as plain for some people to see. It's one of the big dangers with being a dancer. The smallest injury can throw you out for good.
I thought he was more horrified? It was a beautiful but chilling scene where the distinction between the terminators and human beings is becoming more blurred.
@gloriakenny I recommend buying things whenever you can afford it. If something isn't profitable, it won't get made. Buying things is the best way of supporting TV shows (or movies, or musicians, or writers...).
@TimNP61278 The question you should be asking yourself is - What is the difference between the perfect simulation of humanity and humanity itself. Do androids dream of electric sheep? (that's one for your reading list)
i know...Fox has done this twice to Summer Glau now. I'm just praying SciFi picks it up. plus i heard Summer may be the new Lara Croft, so fingers crossed.
i guess that would have been confusing to see a terminator dance, but i guess cameron (the girl the terminator is based on) must have had a past as a dancer, and she drew on that, but who knows...
sunfireboy66... you're missing the point... part of what's supposed to make this scene creep is the fact that sarah conner' talking about how the machines can't commune with god, and that they don't have souls, et cameron is beginning to behave humanly, taking the characters distrust personally, dancing merely for the sake of it, studying her own origins and preserving parts of the dead terminators. the terminator going that direction is pretty bad ass in my mind, and philosophically creepy
Incredible. Every time I watch it. I really wish TSCC had been MARKETED as a show with depth and intriguing characters rather than just as an action show.
One of my favorite scenes in the whole series. It's haunting, sensual, and technical all at once.

I'm a drummer, but I still think dancing is an amazing thing to watch. Especially when the dancer is very graceful and as beautiful as Summer Glau.
I love this show, but I would have to say this is my favorite scene so far. Because Summer is so graceful and the music she danced to was very appropreite
this was a beautiful scene.......I miss TSCC so much...
I love Cameron, very interesting android
I miss this show
Agreed! I think its that which makes her right for roles like this, and River Tam in Firefly too.
Summer Glau is beautiful...i love the shot where it's derek lookin at her and just her shadow dancng across the wall....gorgeous

She also played a ballerina in the Angel episode 'waiting in the wings'. She's really talented.
A beautiful scene. This is one great TV show.

This was one of my favorite scenes for this show. Thanks for sharing!
Just beautiful, just beautiful:=)
That's one lethal machine with a subtlety
could she be anymore perfect *melts*

Bu sahnesi diğer diziye gönderme niteliğinde özellikle konulmuştur yarım kalan dizilerin kraliçesi seviliyorsun.
Summer is an amazing actress and dancer, thanks for putting this up! She looks so free and beautiful.
such beautiful cinematography! ach, especially at the end, when the light it filtering through her hands!!
Summer Glau moves her body in such a graceful, artful way, it's like poetry in motion. Once seen - never forgotten.
100 % agree.
This is so beautiful...
@Paislee1991 Thanks you so much!! this music is beautiful and I love it!! this is perfect combination of feelings
Best 1 minute of the show so far.
Me gusta esta escena!! Cameron es más que expresión, a pesar de ser un robot sabe que ser humana seria diferente!
Deberia haber una tercera temporada.
Victoria Florez Hey victoria, you asked about the music for Summer Glau ballet.
It is chopin noc.20
Your welcome =D
Beautiful !
shes so graceful
Very good observations. Thankz!
yeah, I do too. and Season 2 is freakin awesome!!! TSCC is a keeper :-)
I think it is the best scene ever.~!!!
This scene express vague borderland between wellmade machine and human
by showing his agonized expression after watching machine's beautiful dance.
anyway~ summer glau is absolutely fantastic ballerina~!!!!
Thats one of the best STFU lines I have seen in a long time made me laugh.....when you are right you're right Nice post Austin
this is an uberkewl scene, but imo the best on this far is john saving cameron at the end of season 2, episode 1
Chopin's nocturne in c minor, and i get chills too, its eerie

@therockindtb Yes this ending is very well choreographed. Stylish and artistic! Well done, Brian and Summer.
i love this scene.

summer rocks!
im a ballerina and i had no idea summer was a ballerina too! thats so awesome. she has such a great body i feel so out of shape haha. i love her in terminator!
I am hypnotized
@geagweg
The Oscars aren't for TV shows. The awards for TV shows are the Emmys.
She is so beautiful.
she is the best
I'll bet that's why they chose her to play the role, they knew she's be capable of very precise mechanical movements
Thank feck someone invented the piano, or we'd still be stuck with the harpsichord!
Great scene btw
such a beautiful and disturbing scene - one of my favs of sci fi :D
This scene is just that more intense if you know what happened to the woman who taught her ballet. =[

Y Love you Summer !!!

Oops. Didn't know this vid was already on here. Anyway. Beautiful scenes like this deserve a few links.

She's so beautiful *-*'
It's by Chopin. Nocturne In C Sharp Minor, Op. Posth.
When I watched this on the tv, it really gave me the shills. My favourite serie at the moment.
This is a very powerful scene, because when the days that machines can do this and act like humans like this, then what? All will be lost
Ballets do have stories. It's just sometimes they're not as plain for some people to see.

You are so right.
It's a cool clip, in context.
she is veary good
@gloriakenny
I recommend buying things whenever you can afford it. If something isn't profitable, it won't get made. Buying things is the best way of supporting TV shows (or movies, or musicians, or writers...).
Beautiful, she is 26/7 when she danced this piece. Her incredible flexibility is stunning.
A very beautiful girl and a very beautiful dance.
She is the best.
Wish i looked like that haha.
@socaldude i agree this show had a lot of sensitivity
@ beantna .. Yes I am obsessed wth Summer Glau. She's attractive and can dance beautifully. Got a problem with that?
Somebody knows who played this piece of piano?
Help me !!
I love it!!
That's pretty funny. :)
She probably dances like this for John all the time. No wonder John went to the future to get her chip back. =)
Probably analysing and re-evaluating his prejudism towards the terminator itself.
@jjbebekill
its called "sarah connor chronicles"
Don't think so, If you watch closely you can see that she's all metal in some of her fight scenes.
Nocturne n.20 in C # minor by Chopin
i guess that would have been confusing to see a terminator dance, but i guess cameron (the girl the terminator is based on) must have had a past as a dancer, and she drew on that, but who knows...
holy schmidt! good point.
I love that look of terror on his face. Disturbing to know what a killing machine she is...

I sure hope not. I look forward to new episodes. And to seeing Summer.
god that's beautiful. what is the name of the music?
Well said man. Well said.
こんにちは😀
Save the Sarah Connnor Chronicles!Go to savesarahconnor website and keep sending emails to Fox and WB!
The reason why Brian Austin Green was crying at the end of that scene was that Megan Fox had left him......
one day this will come to pass machine will come of age to think for them self. then what then..
I think it was at the end of season one finale.
