Not a perfect playthrough, Still don't understand if there is any point to that driving minigame or not... Oh well :D -

"These aren't clothes."
"Our skin is naturally green and vinyl like."
Max: "Good Lord he's buck naked!"
Sam: So are you.
Max: Yeah, but I'm cute and marketable."
lmao, you just gotta love Max. xD
amyvitality66 It's not just that, but Anthros have Fur Bodysuits to cover their unmentionable neither regions.
Good ole times. RAM memory was scarce and expensive, so was the HDD space. Games came with beautiful cardboard boxes laden with extras and such. The whole game was an experience right into its box.
In all honesty I would rather games came on SD disks than in a large box which takes up space.
+Ryan Duncan you take up space too.
LMTR14 Lol, nice comeback, it really shows a lot of thought.
Ryan Duncan
that's all the time you deserve. plus you don't even understand what I said
...And the manual! don't forget the manual! We were blessed and we didn't knew.
I remember, when my brother used to play this game, it was too complicated for me to understand but I'd ask him to play it so he could set up the "mini -game" where you painted the game's coloring book.
Good times, when my brother wasn't a jerk.
I was confused too when my sibling played it. But with how it was played it was just fun to watch and see where it goes. Much like reading a book or watch a show/movie and figure the characters understand where things are going better than you and you catch up when you can
Maybe he's more of a jerk because you are a loser
I don't think the cute little robot wants to follow it's new programming, Sam.
I don't recall giving it a cute little choice.
LOL fucking love it
Max: “Sam, the guy on that pole’s got a marshmallow”
Sam: “So?”
Max: “I want a marshmallow!”
Sam: “Max, you are a marshmallow”
This game is amazing.
It really explains what inspired the puzzle/gameplay style in the Tell Tale Games series of Sam & Max.
Also, there are SOME points of this game where the voices sound like they do these days.
Other than that, these voices of Sam & Max seem to be focusing more on the time period this game takes place in than the way Sam & Max act.
They should really bring the TV show back, I miss Sam & Max.
This is easily one of the all time greatest point-and-click adventure games. Even today, I find myself laughing my ass off at the humor.
This and monkey island
I actually love the pixely graphics and simple music in these old pc games. The limited animation has a charm to it.
If i remember correctly the voice of Sam is also the voice of Goofy.
Bill Farmer.
I love longplays. They turn my favorite games into my favorite movies.
1:50:39
A FUCKING ARMY OF DARKNESS REFERENCE! THIS SO FUCKING AWESOME CONSIDERING THEY MET IN POKER NIGHT 2!
HOW'S MY AIM?
CALL *1-800STARWARS*
Greedo?
I get it now, HAHAHA!
They had different voices back then
More New Yorker for both which fits
Love the song at 1:40:00
Brooklyn Max is the better Max :)
bloodrunsclear Agreed. The Telltale Max sounds too fucking nasally.
but holy shit his laugh is epic
Cannonball Burkeball True lol
It would be interesting if this version was merged with the TTG voice; give him that Brooklyn accent but still sound somewhat nasally but fitting voice for Max's stature.
Max: this is one of the ten most liberating experiences of my life
Aaah good old times, only the coolest played these types of games. Still my favorite of the bunch! thanks alot for the stroll down memory lane
Love these games. Ever notice how there's hundreds of lines of voice, but they use the same 5 sound effects over and over and over, even across games (DOTT shares many with SaM)
So much nostalgia
2:35:56 I knew Max would eat foil covered chocolate whole lol
This is long overdue to be made into a movie- some of the funniest, sharpest writing I've ever seen in a comedy, let alone a video game.
OMFG!!!!!! THANK YOU! I miss this game :)
I love this game so much.
The script and voice acting in this game is ridiculously good. I must have finished this over a dozen times as a kid.
2:30:17
As a kid...I can't tell you know long it took to find out you just had to click on the right of the screen to finish the game. We did everything, exhausted every possibility.
And all you had to do...was click on the right. There's just nothing to really indicate there's something noteworthy there.
Man, I've gotten so used to the voices in the new games, it was jarring hearing these ones again. Still love them, but took a second.
TJForceIX They're basically the same, just underdeveloped and sound too new Jersey-ish cop
I dunno. This game had Sam voiced by Bill Farmer, a man people know as the voice of Goofy.
Sam & Max will never get old!
"Hi, my name is Rex" That voice has me cracking up every time.
love the little Star Wars reference at 1:44:23
Question... Was Bubsy the Bobcat among the targets at the end credits sequence? XD
I can see that...makes sense since Star Wars and Day of the Tentacle were LucasArts properties at the time...but I'm not sure why Bubsy is among the targets... Then again, I too would shoot that annoying bobcat. XD
Brings back great memories. I would have liked to see you play through the minigames that you get from Snuckey's.
Love the Woody Allen based character at 'World of Fish', 1:11:11
1:11:11
Thanks for this. One of the best adventure games ever made. I'd be peeing my pants if I wore any!
They used the same sprite and modified it! Three times, in fact; each of the three Snucky's clerks has some different facial features.
Now there's an hello from A Day Of A Tentacle.
Damn.. these are the games!
I had such a hard time with this game when I was a child.
The words "Do you want to ride the T.O.L. again?" are permanently etched in my mind.
RIP in peace Lucas Arts
This is fucking ancient thats why I adore it
Hope more Sam & Max games will be made in the future.
I love the Snuckeys theme! : )
Rasp, rasp rasp...
It's on GOG, so that's nice but I'd love a Steam release of Hit the Road, anyone else?
Hell yes!
1:50:25 Evelyn Morrisson is my favourite voice actor/actress in this one I think, absolutely perfect.
This is a great detective game
Thumbs up 👍 if you miss the old days of Lucasarts 😭
Oh, I love this game! It's not abandonware anymore, though... I hope I'll get to replay it sometime, somehow!
Man this game looks great! Why didnt I get these games.....
Me and my dad both played this at the same time, at different computers, one getting ahead of the other at times, helping each other and occasionally checking our (printed) walkthrough. I didn't get to finishing it, but my father did. He died a year ago, I'm now 16 and I'd love to replay this sometime.
I'm 21!
This is classic masterpiece game. They don't build like this anymore
*rewinds a bit after the quote starting at 1:55:20*
And I thought Sierra had a monopoly on the 'terrible puns' market....
It's a pity I missed most of these old adventure games, but I guess they'd be funnier to me now because I actually recognize more of the jokes (I was way too young then to have a clue).
I love the Ball of Twine music. I can't really even explain why. Also, if you haven't already Mr/Ms Cubex, PLEASE do a longplay of Grim Fandango.
@KazuyaPrower
Yep, there are multiple versions, one has glasses too, but with a 'stasche.
OOOOH.
Doug and Shuv-ool.
Dug and Shovel.
Molemen.
I wish I had noticed that earlier...
...although you seem dangerously unequipped brain wise we've come to you for advice"
The three Snuckey's clerks remind me of that one nerdy guy from Day of the Tentacle!
CooperGal24 You mean Bernard Bernoulli? He was also in Maniac Mansion.
This was before Harvey Atkin and Rob Tinkler perfected the duo.
"He's not a real guy, Sam! Can I keep his head for a souvenir? Why do you suppose it's ticking?"
"Stop em, Sam! he's going to tell us a story!" "Shut up! For God's sake just SHUT UP!"
I can't find a purple door in this level of chaos
Ah, even Evil Dead references :)
The Bigfoot chief sounds somewhat like Dana Carvey's Jimmy Stewart voice.
Was this on a Creative (Sound Blaster or AWE series) or a Gravis sound card? It sounds amazing!
I believe it's in DOSBox with Sound Blaster emulation.
The new games Telltale is putting out are pretty fun.
How do you actually do these playthroughs? I can see you organize your inventory in a certain way as you go along. Did you practice the playthrough before hand, or do you "simply" follow a walktrhough as fast as possible?
Thanks for a great longplay!
I agree. Though I can't help but one 2 things: 1. I thought there was a moment when the ball of twine at one point goes rolling off the holder. And 2. I seem to remember there were more landmarks on the map
Whoa the whole game...Never knew anybody who does that...
@Hemley1 yup
53:12 If this were a Sierra adventure game, this would be game over already. Sam would have died from his injuries and the British cowboy guy would have torn Max to shreds or made something out of him. Maybe Sam and Max should have waited a bit longer before hitting the Gator Golf, since they do NOT even have the necessary fighting skills to subdue or kill Lee-Harvey. Speaking of which, would you like to have Sam or Max murder Lee-Harvey in the game?
i wish i have the power to decide who lives and who dies
The voice of "Wally the Wooly Mammoth" sounds like the voice of Barney Gumble: the character from "The Simpons".
I wonder if it's the same voice actor...🤔
i wish i had a friend like you, somebody who play good games and point and click games. There aren't many at our school but much like bronies "throwing up" when we see somebody play an old point and click game we instantly become like buddies and can talk non stop about it but mostly because there are barely anybody who play or remember these games so we have a lot to talk about instead of blabbering nonstop about our fandom "sigh pathetic show".
41:42 WTF? Interesting mechanism!
"Lucasarts Entertainment Consortium in association with Illuminati local #421"
Illuminati Confirmed! Kappa
R.I.P Lucas Arts
1:21:56 if you watch on mobile, lock rotation and turn the screen upside down, get a fun new perspective
Thanks past me
A few made up AQ (asked questions):
1. Why is Snuckey's in the game?
Well, we had to make up a convenience store chain because at the time, certain laws forbade Lucasarts from putting in a cross promotion with 7-Eleven or any other convenience store.
2. Why do all the Snuckey's managers have the same voice?
We couldn't afford four voice actors for the different managers so we only paid one.
3. Why wasn't Sam bleeding to death? Lee-Harvey is much stronger physically than Sam.
One, this is a Lucasarts game, so not much chance of a bad ending. And two, if Sam's blood was spilt, this would bump the rating to an M or MA15.
It is pretty damn funny seing this, after having seen season 2 and 3, and just how much has changed. Like Bosco's Inconvinience or Stinky's Dinner.
Huh, so THAT is how they came to possess JJ's Hand.
You know, for how often they fight, they never seem to get any better.
Wait a minute, someone actually HITTING on Sam? That is a first (and a last)
Hmm...Miss Hunny Bunny & Mama Bosco (slightly) after she gets over her thing for Max?
+Freya Jay oh yeah, I had forgotten about those two.
There's Bungee girl, Ms. Hunny bunny, Mama Bosco and it would seem a new girl fell for him. Mr. Purcell posted a drawing on Valentine's day...though I can't say it means anything. Could be just playing along with the holiday. Oh! And not to mention the real life fangirls.
RIP Lucasarts.
Sam: I bet you can't make the flames shoot out of your butt.
Flambe: Take a hike.
Max: Amateur.
LOL!!!!
Can anyone tell me at which point Sam says 'My mind is a swirling miasma
of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas.'? I've lost it, and I need
to hear it.
1:43:22 , XD "Facebook:" ur doin it wrong
wait
oh my god
that convinient store worker is the kid that is it manic mansion day of the tentacle
but no glasses
Yeah, it's Bernard :)
I think in one of the shops the otherwise identical store worker has glasses, either that or I'm thinking of the mosutache.
now i know where they got Jessie James' hand..
btw, my DosBox can't play voices. But it could do it in Fate of Atlantis
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID.
Next Exit.
...That's ominous as fuck.
When shadow of war comes of war comes out 4:57 to 5:05
Phone: the shadow of war game
Sam and max: people who are fighting to get the game
They should make a Remake of Hit the road.
Wow, I totally forgot that there was originally a Bosco's, a diner across the street, and that their neighbor was Flint Paper. I thought they were only made up by Telltale.
Lol. The virtual reality thing is Reality 1.6! XD
I intend to make a video for every line in this game as well as Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle & Fate of Atlantis plus perhaps the 1st 3 Monkey Island games. If I can get my older brother or someone else with the technical know-how to help I will use the recorded audio to make soundboard apps for those games or put everything into 1 big App. If someone reads this & decides to steal my idea just don't charge to much for it ok?
@cubex55 Do you think they would consider releasing such an app themselves or care if I had a program made for my own personal use as long as I didn't sell it to anyone, because I care more that I get to have a program/application like that than I care who makes it. If I can get a copy I will also start making videos of myself screwing around in DK64.
weird, 480p wasn't selectable at first
If you are squeamish, don't prod the beach rubble
I wanna corndog.
HAHAHAHA! I LOVE THIS GAME!
Disney should own Sam & Max.
I think the comic’s author Steve Purcell still owns the characters. He currently works in story development at Pixar. (I was surprised when I saw his name on the opening credits of Brave.)
"Shuv-Oohl" lol that's a gay german pun joke.
This game's engine is SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) right?
I only played the demo of this game over and over again. I decided I want to know how this game ends.
The Nostalgia Critic brought me here
Utubeblows What?
ProMonarchyGenius Don't respond, He sounds like a troll or hater, just walk away!
@@ForrestSchlageAnimation Couldn't agree more. Not a fan of channel awesome nor nostalgic critic. Never saw the appeal. But let other folks enjoy it if they wanna. We can't all like the same thing.
What happens when you try to talk to Bruno and Trixie before using the key?
You walk through the beam and get thrown out. That's why you needed to program the robot to go in there so you could get the key from the VR machine in Lee-Harvey's room.
