This is on the media as much as it is the franchise. You all babied Fox and Keegan. Just like you did McLemore & all the other failed picks we've had. Fox felt comfortable because you made him feel ok
Brown's rotations _have_ been bad this season and I would probably understand this decision after the season if nothing changed for the better, but firing him NOW was absolutely a bad call. Both for the team stability and financially since they just gave him that extension before the season. But all of that said, Brown wasn't the singular issue the Kings have had... our lack of size/length on the defensive end and guys not hitting their 3 point shots are out of his control. Even worse than all of that is HOW he was fired too... letting a man run a morning practice and talk to the media and then firing him on his way to the airport for the next game is just scumbag behavior. MB has definitely made a lot of mistakes this season, but the fact that he didn't get at least the most basic of respect from the organization after what he did for us in two seasons is just sad. Especially with the history of coaches we've had sinde Adelman. Just a rough day...
I've been a fan of this team since 86, and I'll be a fan tomorrow. But man, this just wears me out. I want to stop being a fan right now. I won't, of course. But man, I want to so bad.
Weak emotional reaction to a bad start of season . It’s a process . All this does is sets us back and hurts the franchise reputation amongst its peers . Nobody wants to come and play and coach for this franchise because of moves like this . Called Mike Brown on the phone on his way to LA . He deserved at least finish the season . So disrespectful
I don't like how they did it, but there was no great solution. Something had to give. "Start of the season"? We're thirty games in, almost half the season.
Can’t believe people were crying to fire mike because he wasn’t playing a undrafted guard in our guard heavy lineup. Hope all you people out there are happy. This doesn’t fix anything. Why do i feel like somebody passed away
I thought the firing of Coach Brown was unjust. Who knows what was happening behind the scenes with Fox and Brown, maybe some appeasement there to try to keep him. Who knows, but on the surface, just not right. Mike Malone was fired and won a title with Denver, I have no doubt Brown will find success with a better front office.
I hope the team feels good now. But it's a big mistake by the owner ship .the team needed time Monte needed to already made a big traid why is he waiting for even if it cost 2 draft picks I think it's all over now sad sad .I have. Been waiting to win ever since the team came here 😅
I'm embarrassed to call myself a Kings fan. The common denominator is Vivek. This organization has been a laughing stock, and there has been no stability since he's been here. Fox just needs to ask for a trade. The fans are mostly against him now, and his stock won't be any higher. Fox will never lead this team to anything, either.
Flawed and reactionary (even tho I voted YES on the poll 🤷🏼) because with Monte's wonkey roster construction, coach Dougie isn't exactly set up to succeed much better than Brown. Fox asked for accountability before Mike Brown was hired. When he holds you accountable this should not be the reaction from fox. And lets not misunderstand, this was Fox and Rich Paul's doing. Mike Brown told us a week or so ago when he said "If Fox doesnt want me here i wont be here."
Don't like it. Adversity helps teams get better and Vivek folded on the first sign of trouble. 5 game losing streak is hardly something to be impulsive over. MB wasn't perfect but his roster isn't that great either (talking about the bench and length).
Look at where you are. San Antonio have a better record than you, so do the Clippers (without Kawhi). Memphis are a playoff team again. Houston have taken *that* leap. Sacramento has fallen off and missed their window last season and the year before that. Can't blame Vivek for firing Brown. He's lost the locker room and the change was needed. This won't change where they finish at the end of the season though
Lol. How about that theyve lost 12 of 17, that they have one of the worst home records on the league, lost 13 clutch games. You're acting like they're third in the West and not 12th. The season is almost half over.
Deuce, Mo, I don't know what's the most inexcusable firing since Rick Adelman left Sacramento in 2006. 1. Pete D'Alessandro terminating Michael Malone despite Malone coaching a banged up squad including DeMarcus Cousins in 2015. 2. Vlade Divac kicking Dave Joerger to the curb despite the Kings winning 39 games. 3. Monte McNair handing Mike Brown the pink slip in his Christmas stocking after a practice and almost two years since being the first NBA Coach of the Year by a unanimous vote.
This is a correct decision if there are more changes to follow but if vivek thinks this is it, we on for another playoff drought run. This change was inevitable because players were not responding to coach on the court, how many games players kept missing little details. Unfortunately for coach it was either blow it up or fire him. Vivek will not blow it up because of the ticket prices and all, he wants keep selling to fans that team is contending. Also DC is ok for short term but from what i keep hearing that DC is vivek's guy which is just a no no for long term. Good luck to coach MB he did his best I've been critical of him but he is not the problem, it's a much deeper spread out issue.
Not even that deep an issue. The roster just doesnt fit been obvious since the demar trade. There was false hope he could fit but he was never gonna work
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. After losing so many close games, you dont just magically turn it around. Keegan has regressed, he obviously lost Fox.
I agree no matter what…many many people will say it’s stupid…and many many people will say “finally!!” …same with trading Fox…dammed if you do or damned if you don’t is exactly correct
@@stevenschoen1138What was the alternative? Blow it up. That's fine, but does Mike Brown want to stick around for a rebuild? Double down and trade some picks for help? Trade for Fox. They're on 12th place, they've lost 12 out of 17, they lose every game.
Fox had to have told Vivek to fire Brown after Brown (rightfully!!) shitted on him post game. Imagine bending over for a flawed 1B star player who is gonna demand a trade anyway and making decisions based off that. Clown show
Browns rotations were garbage, Derozan doesn't fit into this system, Fox's agent got the coach fired, Monte should be next Draper needs to be the coach

of course it was annoying to see the team in such a funk, but it never crossed my mind that a solution was for Coach Brown to be fired…so crazy. i was looking forward to see Devin Carter play & contribute. and maybe a trade for some wing/length help. what players would want to stay NOW? ugh…dusting off my Kangz t-shirt to add back to the rotation
I was not in favor of him getting that extension. At that time I said, "If you are really that good of a coach, get the team in contention for at least a western conference finals at the midway point then demand a lot of money." Asking for that contract extension when you didn't even make the playoffs sounds like insecurity to me that he cannot get the job done. If I am the owner, I would fire him as well. It's like I am paying big money to Sabonis, Fox, signed Monk to a new contract, extended Brown and for what? A 13 - 18 record with very, very embarrassing losses and a pathetic crew? Geez, I would fire f&**ing everyone!
No matter how good a coach you are, if you don't have the players, you're not going to win. Look at Pop, considered top 5 coaches in history, yet what have the Spurs done since Duncan and company retired? Nothing cause they didn't have the players
@toddpacker1015Do you ever not have a stupid take? Keep forgetting to block you. Getting fired has usually nothing to do with how well a person coaches but a new GM or owner wanting his own guy. KANGZ just proved that AGAIN today. Mike Brown is a universally loved and respected great coach and human being.
Good riddance. Next up, Monte. Half the problem is ineffectual coaching and the other half is catastrophically abysmal personnel choices. All stemming from an owner who doesn't truly understand basketball.

As a sixers fan that's an awful move. We've got one hell of a coach but he can come be assistant I guess! No shade to Doug Christie who is a GREAT guy.
We should be thankful that we still have the Kings. Everyone is very emotional right now. The Kings was not going to win the championship this year. We should just wait and let this season play out. Something is definitely off this year’s team. Things need to be shaken up because they are heading the wrong direction.
I think Mike Brown was a very good coach! Having said that, it was obvious that his offense got players open shots. However, the players weren't making them consistently. At that point, the practices should have switched from being tactical in nature to being more technical. Mike Brown was a tactician. Doug Christie is a technician. I would not be surprised if the Kings do better at this point with Doug Christie.
They could have made any type of trade, even just a small move for the short-term, and absolutely no one would have faulted them. It's a struggling team trying to find itself and something had to change and switching some of the pieces would have seemed like a necessity. Instead, they do this, fire yet another coach and now they're back to being the joke of the league against, perceived as the dumpster fire franchise defined by dumb decisions and instability. Like you just had to push this button first before you tried anything else. That's what's baffling to me, because the ripple effects reputation wise for this franchise I fear will be much more damaging and felt for years than if they just tried some trades around the margins that didn't work out before they made big panic moves. It just feels like we're not even fans of a team, we're just subjects in an elaborate psychological experiment.
People don’t realize how much of how the Kings play is on the coach. The missed threes, the bad playing, bad rotations are all on the coach. If my players are not executing the plays I am telling them to execute, I’ve lost control of my team. Somehow or another I’ve lost respect as a leader. I think this was a good move and I’m excited to see what Christy will do. Christy has a much better relationship with Sabonis and I feel the team may trusts him more than brown.
I agree that i think brown had lost his way with the team but thats because fox stopped listening and the rest of our team are sheep. I wouldve traded fox before i got rid of brown hes a snake in the grass especially now he has rich paul backing him. And if we look at it objectively fox has never been and will never be a winning player. Theres a reason Indy or any other team in the league didnt want anything to do with him before we made the domas trade
I’m not sure if it’s the right decision…and people can argue both sides for hours and hours …and both be right on each side ..was it handled right…I guess not ..but how do you handle a complete disaster…I will say while this roster is flawed it certainly isn’t this bad ..idk why players refused to listen to him …but it’s certainly one of the many problems this team has …not sure if should have been fired ..bottom line he was…no what do we do?..that’s the question
Such a poor impulse decision. If DeAaron doesn't screw up that last defensive set, MB is still our coach. Vivek has no clue how to run an NBA team and Monty has failed at multiple trade deadlines to give MB the length and 3-pt shooting we need.
Imo, Fox got Brown fired. Fox probably has one of the worse defensive ratings for any guard. So many Managers underrate defense. It is 50% of the game. You need a balance of stars and defense.
The move was get demar out of the team for a lengthy 3 point shooter i.e johnson or collins not fire the coach we might aswell trade anyone with value and tank
You guys have a blind spot. Same thing in Cleveland La and now Sac bad coaching. Good the first year then down hill. Your don’t disparage the league is showing.
The beam team died when Jordi left. Mike Brown is only as good as his staff - and he had a lot of game management issues. I wanted him gone when he was holding out for extra contract $ last offseason, because it was clearly a bad deal for what he offers.
He lost the locker room. Fox’s comments displayed as much. There’s no accountability. You have to fire the guy, considering the record, considering the rotations, not being able to implement DeMar on offense, there’s the obvious. It’s a mess, but Fox is probably next and then Monte. It’s unfortunate, I would have liked him to get more time.
mike brown i never liked to uptight not good for team like this i feel doug christie better leader and never been coach hopefully he has them playing more loose get back to basics
The league will never let us win. Especially now, they’re bleeding money. They can’t afford for Sacramento to win. The league determines winners through refs. The only way the Kings win, is by putting together an undeniable roster and the national audience follows. We’re 75 percent of the way there. But we have to recognize we have the most two minute reports of any team. What do you think they do for the 46 minutes? We’re doomed.
This is on the media as much as it is the franchise. You all babied Fox because he’s your friend, you also babied Keegan. Just like you did McLemore & all the other failed picks we've had.Fox felt comfortable because you made him feel ok
Fox was never gonna be the saviour of the franchise. We need to dump him now when he still has value build the team around domas. Get derozan away i would give a first round u protected with him to get him off this team. Shouldve always gone for a collins or cam johnson type
What do you think this is? It's spectator sports. If you're a fan why wouldn't you support players drafted to your team, especially ones that are likeable, work hard, and develop as players over years? Just a thought but it's entirely possible you don't really like sports and just like drinking alcohol and yelling at people.
Morgan is a legend I remember you with the montage is so hilarious in this angry hour feel like we are back to the chaos years fox is trash as a person
What do you think of the decision to fire Mike Brown?
I think they should have waited until the end of the season to make a move like this.
Holy moly. Can't say I expected this one.
KANGZ will be KANGZ

As a group, any group, you will never learn how to face adversity if your first reaction to adversity is to get rid of the group's leader.
The players have to feel guilty for their sloppiness costing MB his job. They better step up for him
No balls, no class
Mike Brown also was fired by Cavs and Lakers so it do be like that sometimes.
We can point fingers all we want but the reality is as long as Vivek controls this team it has no future

How are missed 3s on the coach
I am so surprised!!!
coach was stressing the players out.
... time to make a change
Should never have traded for demar and now him and fox need to go
Imo, Fox got Brown fired. Fox probably has one of the worse defensive ratings for any guard. So many Managers underrate defense. It is 50% of the game. You need a balance of stars and defense.
The most pitiful franchise in the entire NBA, rivaled in the past 50 plus only by the Cohan Warriors, Sterling Clips, and Stephen Cavs.
@@mikeberman9270 “…in entire NBA”?….if you can name a worst franchise in all sports, I’d love to know who it is. Cleveland Browns maybe?
I think Fox and Monk get very greedy sometimes.
The move was get demar out of the team for a lengthy 3 point shooter i.e johnson or collins not fire the coach we might aswell trade anyone with value and tank
If he were not "Pop", he would have been fired a long, long time ago.
You guys have a blind spot. Same thing in Cleveland La and now Sac bad coaching. Good the first year then down hill. Your don’t disparage the league is showing.
They gave him an extensioin as a parting gift, know it will be hard for him to get another job
How oolish does the detention look now. Back to the coaching carousel.
fire vivek and monte and bring back MB this sucks man
I think more heads will fall yet. Next, McNair?
The beam team died when Jordi left. Mike Brown is only as good as his staff - and he had a lot of game management issues. I wanted him gone when he was holding out for extra contract $ last offseason, because it was clearly a bad deal for what he offers.
Somehow, tho I don’t know how, we will win a game at some point. I think the beam should now be retired…it would just feel stupid
Demar should never have come here in the first place. It was never gonna work and the results show
mike brown i never liked to uptight not good for team like this i feel doug christie better leader and never been coach hopefully he has them playing more loose get back to basics
Does this mean they may guard the 3 point line now?
No. Arms are still too short. Not Mike Brown’s fault. He is a loved and respected teacher of defense but apparently you missed the memo
This is on the media as much as it is the franchise. You all babied Fox because he’s your friend, you also babied Keegan. Just like you did McLemore & all the other failed picks we've had.Fox felt comfortable because you made him feel ok
I hate Fox so much.
@@DanielTaylor-tz1rf😮
