Guys this is who we are now. Shame and adding DaRozen was a mistake . It's like when the Yankees signed Stanton when Judge was killing it. That hurt the chemistry. Kings didn't need him. Thanks for listening
We are all feeling so down! And angry.. But when it comes to you both.. you keep our smiles bright. We love you both dearly.. Go Kings no matter how bad things are. We need changes plain and simple.
How about stability? Do you know how bad it would have looked in NBA coaching circles if the Kings, known for their revolving door of coaches, lowballed or fired the only coach to take them to back to back winning seasons since 2006? No respectable coach would ever want to touch this franchise again if that was the case. They still deal with the reputational damage of firing Michael Malone, even Dave Joerger getting fired after winning 39 games, and Brown is as respected among coaches as anyone. If the performance on the court justifies a coaching change, so be it, but that wasn't the case after last season, in my opinion, and they had to do that extension.
@@august7576 No you literally did NOT have to extend him. You could've waited till the end of this season and his contract to end. But Sac media shamed Vivek into prematurely extending MB, so the organization is stuck with him even though Jeff Van Gundy is available. Stability is good but Mike Brown is not good Sacramento media holds that L. Now they won't criticize him at all. The media is terrible with the narrative they push
@@hc434 But what I'm saying is why would someone of Jeff Van Gundy's caliber even look at the Kings' job knowing the team changes coaches more than city edition uniforms? If he wanted to be a head coach again, he could wait it out and have his pick of jobs that come available. There's a reason why franchises like the Kings and Hornets have struggled to get high caliber coaches to interview. Even getting someone with Mike Brown's resume was an uphill climb. If they would have been perceived to be unappreciative to Brown after being the only coach in almost two decades to lead them to wins, even in spite of virtually no roster changes, it would have been yet another bad look for the franchise and one that coaches like Van Gundy would stay far away from. Just my opinion.
@@august7576 i totally disagree with the notion that its hard to get good coaches (though Mike Brown is NOT a good coach) to coach bad franchises. Coaches pounce at any opportunity to make 10 million dollars a year. Who else was gonna hire Mike Brown, who was fired like 3 times as head coach and was an assistant coach for the Warriors? Head coach is a luxury position in ANY franchise. Jeff Van Gundy has not been head coach in like 17 years. He would jump at any opportunity and he is superior to Brown And no, Mike Brown did not lead this team to winning records as we can see more and more evident with each season. The Kings reached the playoffs because Monte Mcnair assembled a roster with Sabonis, Monk, and Fox all entering their prime. Now theyre all getting Mike Brown'd - the former #1 offense in history collectively forgot how to shoot the basketball and they collectively lack coordination, motivation, guidance. How did that happen? The basic same core of guys just get worse and worse each year as a collective. Awfully coincidental, or there is a common denominator
We witness a master class in game management by Lebron James last night. The Kings played at the LAKERS pace all night, which is slow and slower. Lebron James, Rui, and AD, got favorable match ups all night vs the Kings small forwards Demar and Keegan. This game showed why the Kings miss Harrison Barnes. Harrison Barnes could guard bigger forwards. Lebron abuse Demar all night in the post. I agree with Coach Brown the ball got stuck a lot, the Lakers did not respect Demar 3 point shot, which allowed them to shut down the paint. Shutting down the paint, kept Fox and Malik from attacking the paint and finding splash 3s. Also on a lot of plays the shooters were open and the ball never found them. Last night was the perfect game to play a line up of Fox, Malik, Keegan, Jae Crowder and Sabonis, for long stretches, to get the pace up. Jae Crowder keeps the ball moving! And Jae is a much better defender than Demar. Smart NBA teams know how to beat the Kings now, attack their small front line, let Demar take tough 2s, cheat off Demar clog up the paint so Fox and Malik cant kill you with paint attacks and splash 3s.
It's too bad. You guys have a great podcast and now the Kings wet the bed. I'm so sorry you have a real challenge this season. I'm still here. Poor Mo I feel your pain😢 it's called attitude
I think I’m done. I can’t handle this garbage anymore. I was really trying to be patient with Coach Mike, but when he doesn’t take any responsibility for what is happening, I can’t support him anymore.
How is this mikes fault? We have been garbage since we have had Fox and the 1 time he took us to the playoffs was in mikes first year. This is more a personnel issue your crazy if you blame this on Mike
@@BantonioAlvarez when the players collectively and coincidentally are all lost at the same time, you blame... the players? It starts from the head coach. He is not handling the team right if so little is produced from so much talent

I am the most "it's a long season," "every team has ups and downs," "just string some wins together" type of fan, but this game legitimately upset me. There was nothing reassuring about that performance at all. As painful as the last game was, at least you could say "Well, I liked how they fought back in the game" or whatever, but this game was an abysmal "don't care" preseason type of performance, and I hate to say it because I absolutely hate this word, but it was *inexcusable.* I try to have reasonable expectations and just wanted to see a decently fun season, but it's so depressing how it's turned into this miserable nightmare so early on, with this inescapable cloud of constant negativity everywhere. Like, it just feels like we're the Kings and we're just doomed to be an irrelevant laughingstock until the end of time that the rest of the league can come in and twerk on our home court and get themselves a feel good win. I wish I was somewhat normal and had other interests in life.
It’s no secret that this home game stretch with the Lakers, Pacers, and Pistons will be a defining point in the season for the Kings. What the heck are they doing at this point? Are they trying to send a message to the front office and the fans? Going rogue and losing focus hardcore last night. The Monk start game stats are telling and promising…and I get people have off nights, but what gives? I was there at that 141 point win against the Jazz…the Kings are very capable of performing good offense, defense, and feeding off the fan energy. I will be shocked if we see Fox, Huerter, and Murray in Kings uniforms after next season.
Going back to spending a couple hours on game nights with Deuce and Mo…without the additional two and a half hours of aggravating basketball from my favorite team.
Not trying to point the finger at Keegan, but seriously, where has his offense gone? He was one of our best shooters and is now nowhere to be found offensively.
Thanks Deuce for saying it like it is, especially on air!! My thoughts, Demar getting picked on last couple games on defense. Not seeing an adjustment from MB.... why not roll out Crowder or Isaac early to combat that mismatch?? Maybe Demar should move to bench... Reminded me of the switching of Monk and Fox onto WEMBY.... What is this defense???
Home court not exactly an “advantage” this season. Best atmosphere in the NBA seems to inspire the opponent more than it does the Kings. Home record is the most perplexing and disappointing thing so far.
Who or what do you think we could get for Fox? We have guards, guards who can play the point. He is just not consistent enough to build a team around. What star or stars could they get that would give us his 20 points plus size and consistency. He is the kings most valuable trade option, not Keegan.
Feels like the players aren’t locked in because they don’t believe in the roster. Then you got coach and the media calling out the stars to do more. I don’t know how you fix it, but I imagine Vivek is breathing down Monte’s neck meddling in FO affairs again.
Love Fox but it looks like the time has come.. His demeanor to me lately seems like he "wants" to be traded without saying it??? I just don't want to lose out on his trade value if we wait too long and he'll end up leaving anyways..
Deflating loss. I think if this inconsistent effort/play continues, the risk of the Kings making a change to the GM or Head Coach role increases - which I think would be a very bad move for the future. This club has been there - done that multiple times resulting in 16+? years of missing the playoffs. Clearly some personnel moves need to be made, but what assets are we willing/able to move? Even if we consider moving off Demar - He's not an expiring contract, so what team is going to want him at his age and give us something back that we need? I don't think we change our season arc making a move for better bench players - and Cam Johnson is not a bench player and he wont come cheap. Just a fan speculating like most other fans - just so frustrated with this inconsistent effort - this team (on paper) should have a much better record. But what do we need to do to manifest that? Badly need a win Saturday.
Bottom line we are undersized at every position. Fox monk and demar are gonna be smaller than every 1 2 3 in the league. Keegan is not a pf and sabonas is an undersized center.
