Fun Fact: Last time we had horror writer Stephen King as a guestwriter, now we've got cyberpunk-novellists Tom Maddox and William Gibson (Necromancer). So that explains the cyberpunkish nature of this episode. And it won't be the last, written by these 2. I really love this episode. I think its ahead of its time, it's clever, funny, has a lot of action and nice music. Perfect. The episode got mixed reviews though. Don't know why some people don't like it. I think it's one of the seasons best and very underrated. Kung Fu Scully is hilarious. By the way, fibre connection in rural places of my country (germany) is still something you can only dream of these days. ^^
8:54 Lets just nevermind the actual upload process and how that would be done. How much data can the human brain potentially store? 100 TB? To find that much storage space with backup and maintain it would take a lot in 1998 - I mean cheers for thinking along those line and probing the possibilities and whatnot, but come on, that's like proposing space travel in 1901.
13:43 Some handyman two hick towns over, paid via bank transfer. Around the same second some other guy was paid for a trailer a third guy picked up and placed there for a fee from some European chick. Putting all of it up using a dozen non local people would take seconds over the internet - might have had to tell another guy over the net to order the actual companies and people to do it since maybe not all of them operated via the net back in 98 but still - Think Bram Stokers Dracula moving to London modern version - If you have enough money you can always find someone to do anything no questions asked - even hire someone to keep an eye on those you hired in the first place.
I actually skipped ahead from watching earlier seasons react videos because this is my all-time favorite episode of the show. Any time something is going horribly wrong in from of my in life, I hear "Twilight Time" playing in my head like "Yeah, everything is falling apart, doodely-do-do-do-dododo-do-dodo...."
The cold open is so good. Yeah the tech stuff hasn't aged well, my mobile phone is way better than a T3 but the question of what is consciousness and will computers ever be able to emulate it are very much still present.
One of my favorite lines as well, "Mulder! That's EVIDENCE!"
Mulder: "Gee, I hope so..."
Fun fact: there is an episode in season 11 that clearly references this one!! combined with ghost in the machine from season 1
Yeah, I think there are more artificial intelligence or cyberspace episodes in this show than he is aware of at this point.

Next episode is really good and it's Gillian Anderson's favorite
was your Video Resolution 1080p or Lower when you were Watching it ??? and you Gotta Love That Twilight Time Music 😃
The series was never shot in 1080 HD, they were only ever remasters upscaled to 720p. Why?
@@GreyWolfTV - i Have Every Last Episode in 1080p NOW so 😁
3:37 I have been looking for the name of that band for ever and no one knows nothing about it, I HELP with that!!!!! - Good Video.

Are we just supposed to forget the DOD has this weapons platform after this episode?
Just like we're supposed to forget the government can control all airliners by remote as we learned in some early-2001 pre-9/11 X files shows.
You STILL need to Watch PMJ's "Dream On" with Morgan James, it's INCREDIBLE!!! (as is Everything Morgan has done). You won't regret it!!!
