- I apologize for the long delay but another review is finally here! Today, I continue my Yakuza journey with Yakuza 5 Remastered and let's just say that I am not ready to step away from this series just yet.

I loved playing this game when I first played it. I remember playing saejimas part during christmas. It was perfect
Yeah, I find it amusing that most of the games are set during Christmastime.
Lol true i'm playing it know, but saejima chapters were really, really boring

It’s just an RPG, not JRPG. Games like Xenoblade, Persona, and Final Fantasy fall within the JRPG genre

I am saddened by the fact that Yakuza: Dead Souls did not get the remaster treatment. I know it's a spin-off, but I really enjoyed the fame when it originally came out...
Yeah, I really wish they would localize it for the West at the very least. Everyone seems to really love it.

Right you are. I was confusing Dead Souls with Ishin and Kenzan. My apologies.
Dead Souls desperately needs to be ported to a more powerful console because the frame rate is atrocious on PS3.
5 is probably the only one out of the three remasters which actually still holds up.
It is my favorite of the three but I still had a great time with all of them.

phenomenal remaster reviews (all 3). As someone else stated, the Yakuza series is now quite popular, yet no one's reviewing the remaster collection. Thank you. BTW, where would you rate the Yakuza remakes (1&2)? Are they "must plays"? Or do the other titles in the series outmatch them? Also, have you played Judgement?

As for your question about the Yakuza remakes, that is a tough one to answer. My first Yakuza game was Kiwami so that one will always hold a special place in my heart. I liked Kiwami 2's side content but I did not love its story (most fans love its story though).
To keep it simple, I would have to say that the other titles do outmatch them. Yakuza 0 and Yakuza 5 are my two favorite games in the series. Give them a try if you choose to play any game in the series if you want my honest opinion. Though it is Yakuza we're talking about so they're all worth a try in my book!
I only played Judgment for an hour or two. I really need to finish it though. It seems like Yakuza but with different characters.
I love yakuza side stories, I spent the least amount of time on side stories on yakuza 5. I might go back to do more hunting and fishing

to be honest the locker keys are the exact same in kiwami 2
I just wish you could simply walk over them and they were automatically picked up.
After you play 6 and 7 you should import Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin from Japan, it’s excellent😉

I swear to god I thought that was rdr2 at the start and got confused af, like why are the graphics so low res? I never thought I'd see a hunting minigame in yakuza, thats lit. Im still playing kiwami 1 tho, hopefully I get to 5 soon

Are the side stories necessary to fight the Amons or can I ignore them entirely and focus on the substories?
The Amons only appear after you've finished all of the other substories so you're good!
how many chapters do each character get? I ordered the remaster collection and I am just curious
If memory serves, each character gets four or five (I don't really remember) chapters except for Haruka and Akiyama. They share a set of chapters between them so they both don't get a full section to themselves if you get what I'm saying.
This review is pretty good however I want to add some more problem i have with the game... Yakuza 5 is definitely my favourite in the series but it's not perfect. Imo I wish they make some part of the game snappier like by remove the sewer so we can enter purgatory easier and the shining item on the ground... Also more phone booth, taxi and a sprint button would be dope
Yeah, the shiny items on the found definitely need an auto-pick up option. Especially after so many games in the series.
Tsukimino is the part I'm on now and it's annoying literally thugs or enemies everywhere. On top of that the main story mission so far has you running around to find places.
Yeah, there are a ridiculous amount of enemies in that town.

@@s.o.k5207 Oh, it's definitely worth it. I'm a little biased though since Yakuza 5 is my favorite in the series (0 is tied with it).
@@thepretendgamer5019 you were right I continued with saijema part and did alot of side missions. The activities were fun as well especially the snowball fight one.
Nothing against the remasters but they could’ve did better with 3-4-5 to standout as a great game. When I played the remaster it felt like the old gen. No disrespect but I think I’ll stick with 0-1-2 because 2 pretty much has a good ending to the series to me.
Obviously they won't be changed much they're remasters not remakes like the Kiwami games

I think we all would have been ok with these games being remade but, having said that, they all stand up fairly well in their own right. As you can see from my reviews, I really enjoyed my time with all of them.
