- The island of Crete (Kreta / Creta 2024) is the biggest island of Greece and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea. Crete is strategically located between Africa, Asia and Europe and played therefore an important historical role in the trade routes between these continents. Since the beginning om mankind the island developed it's unique culture of king Minos with the Labyrinth and the Minotaur at the Palace of Knossos, better known as the Minoan Civilization. Even today the island has a distinct culture. The island has 600,000 inhabitants in 4 main cities (Chania, Heraklion, Rethymnon and Agios Nikolaos) and around 600 villages.

This is only the nord of Crete. Nothing about the beautiful southside. What a disappointment
That's not completely true. I filmed the biggest city of the south Ierapetra. If you want to see more parts of the south including the Messara plain you should watch my other video:
