I started my career doing close-up magic, and then spent 30 years doing stand up comedy. I'm back to doing a lot of magic with many bookings doing walk around at festivals, corporate and parks and recreation events. I love doing bill magic and after just a little practice, I already know that this is my closer. Brilliant. Thanks so much for making my performance better.
Absolutely brilliant!!! Such clever handling, you could have sold this for a decent amount on penguin downloads, but generous enough to give it to us free!!
I love your attention to the little details that are convincers for the spectator ... folded corner in this case. Thanks for this video, I can't wait to try it out!
Hi this is Drew. What a GREAT trick. Something I know I can do without any kind of major sleight. I am going to practice and one I feel really good about it I will perform for my grandsons. I really appreciate you taking all the time you do to make these videos. Thank you so much!!!
Seriously brilliant! Your sincere and honest enthusiasm is both engaging and inspiring. You're a born teacher and a wonderful magician and I'll look forward to following your career.
Love, love, love this homeboy!....you read my mind, I love to have at least one coin and one bill trick in my pocket. People love card tricks but you gotta be able to wow them with organic EDO like money. I usually keep it simple with the black ops watch vanish routine I came up with, water Trap, one of your dope coin vanishes and either melt 2.0 or mislead,.....but I just Lovvvve your take on this. Super simple but baffling💯😱. I can speak for the community that we Love you Bro,....your ingenuity, generous nature, down to earth personality, and of course having Kayleigh keep you on your toes❤️.....🤷. I thank you my dude. I will be donating in the future when I am able, you give us too much not to pay it back.
Thank you Lloyd I am 63 years young and have been watching your Tuesday tutorial for a while now and enjoy every one, you have brought out the child in me and I have bought a few tricks from ellusionist and my wife enjoy's them. If you read this comment could you recommend a video or a book to learn slight of hand. Every Blessing, Nigel
Finally got to sit down and watch this finally! I really don’t know how you continue provide amazing content. That will serve upcoming magicians endless amount of top tier reactions
I agree I've seen it done with a gimmick pencil but never with a borrowed note and pencil..and this is way more effective..as Lloyd said..remember your first reaction to it..I was open mouthed
Just wanna say, you’re one of my favorite magicians/ teachers on UA-cam. To me you’re kind of a combo Chris Ramsay and Daniel Roy. Who happen to be my other 2 favorites. I think you’re better than you give yourself credit for, but I’m like beginner/barely novice so..my opinion doesn’t really count lol. You are awesome at teaching though! I’m no beginner at learning so my opinion can count on that. I hope that comes off as the compliment it’s supposed to…sorry if not, I really suck with words.
Good on you for sharing a great effect for all of the people who want to entertain people! Thank you for sharing, everyone watching needs to like. When bartending in my younger years at a country club I did magic & it increased my tips 500% & kept people coming back with their wives & kids.
Thanks for sharing.... i have always loved magic.... seeing your clips.. reminds my why i love magic ... I have dipped in and out of magic since a kid... now over 50... I still love the buzz...making people smile...
Yes, even though my show morphed to less impromptu and more prop magic for stage this type of magic is what I still get compliments about when I bring back my old stuff.... and now I'm morphing back to this modified for stage because I'm tired of lugging suitcases and storing props and want new act to keep... me... entertained. Nice stuff
This is gold! I’ remember when I first saw Copperfield perform misled. And how happy I wax when they released Timothy’s gimmick to the market. But this is awesome!!!
Omg the version David Copperfield performed was one of my first ever magic tricks as a child. I magically lost the gimmick shortly after my parents bought it for me. Now, I'll never lose the gimmick ever again!
Really great bar room trick..love it ! ..and Lloyd you are so right that even if someone found the hole it just cant be connected..I like the idea of asking someone to look at the note before you do the magic, as they wont know what they are looking for..and brilliant idea to act as if something is up with the pencil..that's a master stroke!! I'd fall for that!
I’ve done Misled, but when I saw this, I thought omg…great, but in Canada we have plastic bills. Then you explained doing it with plastic notes….perfect Lloyd.
Being an amateur without any aspirations of doing magic professionally, EDC and organic stuff is my jam! Loved this. For an additional phase that doesn't even use the gaff, consider Daniel Garcia's first phase where the pencil goes through point first. He uses a straw, but that's more to do with the other phases.
While the effect is powerful the explanation of human behavior is more so. What a brilliant lesson in human psychology. This is where the real magic happens. Thanks for sharing.
In the original performance, the only thing that made me question was the final bit where you slip the pencil out of the bill as you are "sawing" through it. By no means did I know how you did it, but if someone is paying attention, this might cause a small bit of doubt. I had no idea that there was a hole, but I wondered why you pulled the pencil all of the way out only on the last couple forward motions. I thought it was something to do with the bill, because paper bills are much easier to manipulate than a wooden stick. Great trick through! I wish I could do magic like the pros. I love seeing that look on people's faces.
Thanks for the videos 📹... I've been practicing magic along with piano keyboard for few years now... the fingering for piano and card tricks really helps for both 👍.. I can understand how magicians 🎩 like shin lim can do some of the moves so smoothly.. being a piano player himself... because of the black and white keys on the piano 🎹 my question to you would be can you do a video on (black) magic... like black ⚫ felt on a coin or card contrast on a black shirt or table 🤔.. thanks again and I appreciate your work .... keep it coming!
I saw David Copperfield do this with a borrowed US $1 (paper) in the middle of an audience & projected on a stage screen maybe 25 yrs ago when he was stil doing yearly specials (I think it was the Walk thru Great Wall of China show). I think he used a different method though because I taped it and watchd that trick many times at full, half, and quarter speed and I'm (almost) certain the pencil end(s) never went far enough to slide out of a small tear. The effect LOOKED the same, though! Have to see if my VCR still works & if I kept that tape!!
The disclaimer at the beginning had me ready for a really cheesy method, but I really liked this method a lot. I have the perfect pen , so now I can do this version and since it’s a similar effect with a totally different method I think it may make both methods even more fooling
I haven't been performing nonstop, but I did a lot of performing as a kid and as a teenager, and have recently started back up as an adult, so I do have enough experience to know that this illusion absolutely will work if you hand them back a bill with a tiny tear in it. I know that, and I believe it without a doubt. But...if you lack that confidence, there is a small concern that I would point out to any Americans who wanted to try to swap the bill out. Over the course of my lifetime (I'm 37), the American government has issued at least three kinds of $5, $10 and $20 note that I can remember off the top of my head, and at least four kinds of $100 note. The $1 note has always been the same, so that isn't an issue, but...if you ask for a dollar bill and they hand you a twenty, you might run into some trouble. Like I said, it's not an issue if you hand their bill back, which I have already said that I 100% believe would work...but if you lack the confidence to hand back a bill with a small tear in it, you're gonna need to carry around a few hundred dollars, and develop a system to remember which pocket each one is in. 😂
great illusion. Suggestion, if you're going to give the original bill back, have them sign the bill with the pencil or pen. That will assure them that it's the original bill that was used for the trick.
Unfortunately with the polymer notes I notice that the slit tends to get wider the more the pencil is placed through it because the plastic tends to tear along the snip. Presumably this doesn't happen with cotton notes.
another possability : if you bringing your own bill with a slit than you could hand out the bill for them to examine in advance. After they took a look you start with the trick.
If you wanted to take it up a "notch", use one of the new $100 bills, they already have a slit in the blue ribbon, not sure if it's already big enough for a pencil, but if you're good enough you might be able to make it bigger and if anyone does notice it, it already comes with the slit. If it's not big enough and you don't want to tear it, maybe carry something narrower to use and be examined. But if I'm in your audience and you ask me for a c note, you're in trouble because I'm to broke to have one, lol.
The first roll/flash penetration I'd revise or skip. The only reason for this is that you are left with a visible wrinkle in the bill -- and while that wrinkle alone doesn't give away the gimmick (because this is gimmicked) it looks extremely odd and suspicious (and just doesn't look good overall). When I watched the performance for the first time I was immediately drawn to that very odd wrinkle (which looked like a fold or double-fold-in) and it distracted from the performance. I'd focus on the other points which look a lot more amazing and clean. Otherwise, kudos for creating something that could go into a routine with Misled (by Timothy Wenk). I love having multiple ways to perform a similar illusion... especially when people want to "see it again".
This is one of those tricks which it like fries completely fries ppl XD But what's important here the are subtleties you shared llyod! Epic tutorial! 🤘🏻
Edit: okay I am gonna practice with Canadian 5$. This is awesome. Once I master it, I want to use it in some of the house parties with friends and family
ANOTHER pencil through bill but with a gimmick? ua-cam.com/video/drJhn-9mG9s/v-deo.html
That is awesome
I see. Psychology. Make the mark WANT to see the un-gimicked pencil INSTEAD of the bill. Well played.
didn't Timothy weak come up with this trick concept or did this non gimmick version exist before him or is this extended non gimmick original idea?

Seeing you excited about performing and teaching us any trick makes me excited about watching your tutoria!

Strong EDC effects are pure gold.

Thanks for this briliant and unprecedented magic trick! I will perform it FOREVER!🎉

Very clever! A lot of these free effects from tutorial Tuesday you could actually sell as single effects. Very generous!

Incredible🤩 I have already seen the effect in a book, but was to bored to read me through it. Your Tutorial is incredible and its a craazy fooler😱
This should be considered your #1 video. Can't wait to practice this.
Omg the version David Copperfield performed was one of my first ever magic tricks as a child. I magically lost the gimmick shortly after my parents bought it for me. Now, I'll never lose the gimmick ever again!
I" like" every single one of your videos, you are my new favorite magician. We DEFINITELY want to learn impromptu tricks!!!!
Lloyd I love ALL your magic, I think we can all agree on that 👍🏻
This is better than Mislead and the gaffed pen methods. More of this please. Love it.
Great explanation and how you built confidence in performing this.
Love impromptu effects

This is one of the greatest things I have ever watched
Great effect. I love the impromptu tricks. Thank you so much.
I really like that one. I would like to see more no -gimmicked effects like this.
Thanks for sharing your amazing, magical thinking Lloyd. You're a legend.

i don't even practice tricks but these videos are gold and i'm semi addicted. great stuff
Awsome ! I love this kind of magic. More please !
Going to use this! Congrats on 22k today!
Your tutorials are sooooo good mate, no wonder you have so many followers. 👍👍
I love these impromptu no gimmick tricks thanks!!

This is fantastic. Just requires some boldness. Please Lloyd - more impromptu material. I love it.

Real slick trick bro‼️💥🪄
Love your work Lloyd!!
yess love the EDC stuff! Brilliant method!
Very cool. Getting ideas for my magic camp!
Love the classic magic never gets old ..ever....lol
What makes you great is the handling tips
Fantastic! Absolutely great! Thanks.

Wow, different method, very impromptu, this is definitely up there with Michael Ammar's rubber band.
Thank you so munch for sharing Lloyd. fantastic!

This trick is great. But i am afraid i cannot perform it because ripping bill is illegal in my country :(
If you do it properly, they should never find out 😉
this is sooo good!!! thanks for sharing🙂
You're more than welcome dude!
Great presentation, I love very much. Keep in touch❤
Love love love love love this

brilliant idea for a pen or pencil through a bill :)
Nice trick thanks a lot !
You're welcome!
It would be great but doesnt work with the stiff polymer/plastic notes here in Australia
Skip to 17 minutes. We have the same ones in the UK and I cover it 🙂
@@LloydB I stand corrected; Ive been playing with it, had to tweak a bit but I think I have it sorted. Thank you.
I can’t believe this is free on UA-cam. I would have paid a lot of money to learn this secret.
Brilliant illusion!
Nice quick little clever trick
Great example of the cross cut force. Even beginner magicians get fooled by that method.
This is well thought out.
That is BRILLIANT !
I find it a bit harder to do with Euros or is it just me ?
