      didn't Timothy weak come up with this trick concept or did this non gimmick version exist before him or is this extended non gimmick original idea?

    I started my career doing close-up magic, and then spent 30 years doing stand up comedy. I'm back to doing a lot of magic with many bookings doing walk around at festivals, corporate and parks and recreation events. I love doing bill magic and after just a little practice, I already know that this is my closer. Brilliant. Thanks so much for making my performance better.

    Love, love, love this homeboy!....you read my mind, I love to have at least one coin and one bill trick in my pocket. People love card tricks but you gotta be able to wow them with organic EDO like money. I usually keep it simple with the black ops watch vanish routine I came up with, water Trap, one of your dope coin vanishes and either melt 2.0 or mislead,.....but I just Lovvvve your take on this. Super simple but baffling💯😱. I can speak for the community that we Love you Bro,....your ingenuity, generous nature, down to earth personality, and of course having Kayleigh keep you on your toes❤️.....🤷. I thank you my dude. I will be donating in the future when I am able, you give us too much not to pay it back.

    Just wanna say, you’re one of my favorite magicians/ teachers on UA-cam. To me you’re kind of a combo Chris Ramsay and Daniel Roy. Who happen to be my other 2 favorites. I think you’re better than you give yourself credit for, but I’m like beginner/barely novice so..my opinion doesn’t really count lol. You are awesome at teaching though! I’m no beginner at learning so my opinion can count on that. I hope that comes off as the compliment it’s supposed to…sorry if not, I really suck with words.

    Being an amateur without any aspirations of doing magic professionally, EDC and organic stuff is my jam! Loved this.
    For an additional phase that doesn't even use the gaff, consider Daniel Garcia's first phase where the pencil goes through point first. He uses a straw, but that's more to do with the other phases.

    In the original performance, the only thing that made me question was the final bit where you slip the pencil out of the bill as you are "sawing" through it. By no means did I know how you did it, but if someone is paying attention, this might cause a small bit of doubt. I had no idea that there was a hole, but I wondered why you pulled the pencil all of the way out only on the last couple forward motions. I thought it was something to do with the bill, because paper bills are much easier to manipulate than a wooden stick. Great trick through! I wish I could do magic like the pros. I love seeing that look on people's faces.

    Thanks for the videos 📹... I've been practicing magic along with piano keyboard for few years now... the fingering for piano and card tricks really helps for both 👍.. I can understand how magicians 🎩 like shin lim can do some of the moves so smoothly.. being a piano player himself... because of the black and white keys on the piano 🎹 my question to you would be can you do a video on (black) magic... like black ⚫ felt on a coin or card contrast on a black shirt or table 🤔.. thanks again and I appreciate your work .... keep it coming!

    I saw David Copperfield do this with a borrowed US $1 (paper) in the middle of an audience & projected on a stage screen maybe 25 yrs ago when he was stil doing yearly specials (I think it was the Walk thru Great Wall of China show). I think he used a different method though because I taped it and watchd that trick many times at full, half, and quarter speed and I'm (almost) certain the pencil end(s) never went far enough to slide out of a small tear. The effect LOOKED the same, though! Have to see if my VCR still works & if I kept that tape!!

    I haven't been performing nonstop, but I did a lot of performing as a kid and as a teenager, and have recently started back up as an adult, so I do have enough experience to know that this illusion absolutely will work if you hand them back a bill with a tiny tear in it. I know that, and I believe it without a doubt.
    But...if you lack that confidence, there is a small concern that I would point out to any Americans who wanted to try to swap the bill out.
    Over the course of my lifetime (I'm 37), the American government has issued at least three kinds of $5, $10 and $20 note that I can remember off the top of my head, and at least four kinds of $100 note. The $1 note has always been the same, so that isn't an issue, but...if you ask for a dollar bill and they hand you a twenty, you might run into some trouble.
    Like I said, it's not an issue if you hand their bill back, which I have already said that I 100% believe would work...but if you lack the confidence to hand back a bill with a small tear in it, you're gonna need to carry around a few hundred dollars, and develop a system to remember which pocket each one is in. 😂

    Unfortunately with the polymer notes I notice that the slit tends to get wider the more the pencil is placed through it because the plastic tends to tear along the snip. Presumably this doesn't happen with cotton notes.

    If you wanted to take it up a "notch", use one of the new $100 bills, they already have a slit in the blue ribbon, not sure if it's already big enough for a pencil, but if you're good enough you might be able to make it bigger and if anyone does notice it, it already comes with the slit.
    If it's not big enough and you don't want to tear it, maybe carry something narrower to use and be examined.
    But if I'm in your audience and you ask me for a c note, you're in trouble because I'm to broke to have one, lol.

  • @DavidLGood
    @DavidLGood 3 місяці тому

    The first roll/flash penetration I'd revise or skip. The only reason for this is that you are left with a visible wrinkle in the bill -- and while that wrinkle alone doesn't give away the gimmick (because this is gimmicked) it looks extremely odd and suspicious (and just doesn't look good overall). When I watched the performance for the first time I was immediately drawn to that very odd wrinkle (which looked like a fold or double-fold-in) and it distracted from the performance. I'd focus on the other points which look a lot more amazing and clean. Otherwise, kudos for creating something that could go into a routine with Misled (by Timothy Wenk). I love having multiple ways to perform a similar illusion... especially when people want to "see it again".
