@@kimmykimko The Torah is addressed to the Children of Israel. It relates their part in the Covenant. Noone who is not part of the Covenant needs to do the stoning or anything else that the Children of Israel agreed to do. One can join the Covenant, but if he/she does so, they are to keep the Commandments. The Children of Israel, who were a small group at the time, were told that the penalties were instituted to remove evil from the land. If evil was permitted in the land, it would be up to God to impose His Punishment, which he did when He destroyed the Temple twice.

Andrew, I think it would be so beneficial to some (like me) for you to have a video discussion around the law for Christians with Jeff so that we're able to more distinctly see categories, and so that someone trying to differentiate between Hebrew Roots and a theonomist (at least the type Jeff is) is better able to see what each side is saying, and not saying. Hope that makes sense, and if you've already had a discussion like this, I'd love if you could shoot a link. I'm still learning and listening, and I hear things on both sides (theonomy and what you'd consider your position to be) that have credence, at least in my mind, so far. The main issue I’ve seen is not whether or not to follow the Torah… the main problem I’ve seen in the people I know following this movement is the Salvation portion. Most that I know know say, faith is the beginning… but it’s not enough to save you, you must have the fruit/works with it. I show them the MANY MANY verse to which it’s clear “Salvation is from The Lord”, “The Law CANNOT save you”, “Faith alone, by Gods grace Alone” etc… and they just cannot except that it is a “GIFT of God” … you don’t pay for a gift … it’s free.

Hm. I’ve never considered myself “Hebrew roots” (never heard that phrase before this series tbh), but I feel like this conversation is a little off.
I don’t doubt that there are people who say that if you don’t keep the Levitical feasts and laws, then you can’t be saved, HOWEVER (and this is a very huge however) none of the people who I’ve met who espouse the view that we should be doing those things say or even think that they are doing so to obtain salvation. They are doing them to honor Christ, BECAUSE of their faith in Him, and their thankfulness for their salvation through Him, and their love for Him.
This podcast comes across as very judge mental. Given, I’ve never been party to one of the fb groups, they mentioned and social media always has a tendency to turn vile, so I absolutely believe there are people who would put each other down for not being perfect it that area, but I don’t think you can subsequently lump in everyone who, in their devotion, finds themselves convicted to celebrate the Biblical holy days and to tell others about them.
I’ve never heard the Ishtar thing. When I was growing up it was linked to the pagan Scandinavian goddess “oestra” who is also a fertility figure.
Anyway, Love y’all, but I’m shaking my head a bit on this one.

Right. It is easy for people to pick and choose which commandments they want to keep, but Christ said if you love him keep His commandments. If one loves the Father and wants to honor His name, then do as Christ, the Word said. Christ also said he did not come to abolish the law or Torah but to establishfulfil it. He goes on in matthew 5 to say "whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Those are strong words. It blows my mind to think that people just wrote off the commandments and feasts that even Christ established and kept. Christ called himself Lord of the sabbath yet people write that off also. It is simple really if people love the Father in Christ they will harken unto His Word because they love Him and will walk in His ways. It really is about love and faith. Time for people to walk the talk. Talk is cheap.

I was raised to keep the laws (which is not "impossible" as was suggested in the discussion other than those that rely on the existence of the Temple) not because it was necessary for salvation (or a work that improves my chances of salvation), but as an act of devotion to God. God deserves that devotion and worship even if the burden does not lead to my personal salvation or benefit me. I go to church and sing songs praising God also not because that is necessary for my salvation and not because it makes it more likely I will be saved, but because God more than deserves it.

It is true that 119 ministries is the go to for probably most of those in the Hebrew roots. If its not about salvation, then why does 119 ministries insist it is? Also, Triumph in Truth is also a popular go to for those in the Torah observant community and they also teach salvation through Torah observance.
This is a direct quote from a video 119 ministries put out- from 119 ministries video called "What is the gospel":
"salvation is by faithfulness (obedience to the commandments) and life is obtained by obedient fidelity to the Lord. Life is forfeited through disobedience to the commandments which is unfaithfullness to the Lord"
(pointing out again that this quote is from their teaching "what is the gospel" - so this is how 119 Ministries defines the gospel)
Triumph in Truth also teaches salvation by Torah observance.
Triumph in Truths video "without set apartness no one will see Yah" these claims are clearly spelled out:
      1) unless you are obedient to Torah laws, you are not set apart and if you are not set apart you will never meet the Master.
      2) If you participate in traditions of men, or observe the holidays, you are not saved.
      3) If you are not in full obedience to the dietary laws, you are not saved.
      4) That Christians who do not observe Torah laws are lukewarm and that will make God nauseated and He will spit us out of His mouth.
      5) that Babylon is not just the world but includes all the non torah following churches. The implication of Babylons fate in scriptures is damnation.

@@angelcollector22 Not sure whose quote the quote is that you reference but we are saved by grace through faith not by faith that is what ephesians 2 says. Also hebrews 11 defines faith, it is moving or harkening to the Word. You will know of you are saved if you are growing in faith and accepting the promises. It is a marriage covenant that has to be received and kept. When Paul in epehsians 2 said not saved by works, he was using that as a reference for quantities. Christ also emphasizes this in mathew 20 with the parable of the vineyard. It is acting on the promises. We have to be doing what he says. Hebrews 6 states the following: 11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. 12Then you will not be sluggish, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
What is even more concerning are the vesrses above: 7For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God. 8But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.

Gamaliel spoke a word applicable in that instance, but if you apply it as a litmus test for modern religious ideas, then you have to accept any religious sect that pops up that doesn't rapidly pass away. Approached in this way, one would have to accept Islam, Mormonism, and the list goes on. Just because a religion sticks around doesn't make it true. Weird use of scripture.

Having formerly been married to a woman who was active in Hebrew Roots before becoming part of Black Hebrew Israelites - I can attest that all these points about what they teach and believe are accurate. Of course there are gradations, some very good and moderate people within Hebrew Roots - but far too many extremes and thats what has led her to now adopting an even further element of embracing the black hebrew variation. The concept behind the belief itself at the core only leads to more extreme legalism by necessity.

I am so sorry your wife or ex wife? has gone of the deep end. It is my experience with mainstream Christianity and all of it's flavors that my views on certain issues is what establishes the validity of my 'faith'. If I am asked, "Do you believe that Jesus is your Savior and that He died for your sins?" and I answer in the affirmative, then I am a Christian. My answer to other issues are what confirm my 'walk' with Christ. "Do you believe in 'the' pretribulation rapture?" "Are you baptized in the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues?" "Do you believe in the Trinity?" And finally the grandest affirmation of my walk with the Lord, "Do you believe you can lose your salvation?" To some denominations my view of the rapture is evidence of my walk with the 'Christ. To others it is my view of the trinity. The answers to these questions are the 'fruit' of my Christian life. My desire to obey the commandments of the 'Lord' I profess is considered irrelevent. Morality as determined by the one who created us is relegated to the Jews. As a matter of fact, in Christian thinking, the more I desire to obey God, the less I am relying on faith. Why the great determiner of my faith is not whether I 'take up the cross' and follow the Messiah, but rather my response to questions 'about' the Messiah.

@@linak7155 Thank you, yes unfortunately now my ex wife do a lot to our being unequally yoked. Yes, the ultimate question to whether or not you're a Christian is - do you believe in Jesus as your messiah, his death and resurrection, and ultimate return? The rest, pre-post trib, calvinist/armenian, trinitarian...etc,etc - aren't indicators of your salvation. The problem I have with much of Hebrew Roots is that they equate the keeping of kosher, shabbats, and feasts as equivalent to the keeping of the moral laws - the moral law is what Christ has written on our hearts and are what indicate our attitude of salvation in Christ (Mark 7:19) - keeping a certain diet and taking a certain day off work mean nothing. But then for my personal story, it became even further removed when she stepped into the Black Hebrew belief which says that African Americans are the true Hebrews and the lost tribe of Judah - the bible is "their" book and they must keep the commands to be restored in "their" promised land. These beliefs are compounding and start with the idea that we are all burdened to the old covenant and the bible is about and only for a specific people.

The fact that ur wife was swept up by Black Hebrew Israelite theology may indicate she was not well grounded in the faith. Many of the BHI groups prey on ignorance n are motivated by racial superiority. Everything is looked through the prism of skin color.
There is no place in Scripture that uses the terms moral or ceremonial to ➗ up the commands of our Creator* These are intrepretive words, drawn from presuppositions n biases. We ALL have them. There are really two kinds of people in the world. Those who admit they interpret Scripture through presupposition n those who try to convince the masses that they have none and are always looking at Scripture with an objective lens. There is only ONE who sees things without bias. The terms ceremonial n moral are sourced from the evidence they choose to present. Since the Scriptures make no mention of these two groups of laws, their conclusion must be based on inference, whether clear, muddy or contrived. However, *the Word of God does mention commands, laws, ordinances, statutes n precepts* I choose to define these words concretely and then to search them from Genesis to Revelation.
      Here are a few examples
Gen 26:5 "Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws."
Exo 20:6 "And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My commandments."
John) 14:15 "If ye love Me, keep My commandments."
Commandments begin in the Beginning. A good place to bring them considering that YHVH loves the whole world. Notice that Abraham obeyed the commands of God as well, long before Mt. Sinai. Adam chose NOT to obey them n ends up being the founding father of disobedience n its results.

There are really three kinds of people in the world. Those who disobey God's commands because they do not acknowledge His existence, those who disobey Him and do it in His name, and those who claim His name and obey Him. Which one are you? When reading the Scriptures, it becomes evident that no matter what "dispensation" you happen to be cruisin' through, disobedience is rampant, and so is chaos and moral decay. This is not only true today, but it seems to have reached its pinnacle.

@@John3.36 and let's put this in context. Who wrote Galatations? Saul and who WAS Saul? He was a Pharisee a very very very strict Pharisee. He followed the law to a T but he had no love, no fruit of the spirit. He was the prime example of a legalist. "Follow the law to be saved" yet he and others were completely void of love. The Old testament says over and over that circumcision of the heart must come first. Saul is speaking to legalistic Pharisees (or who use to be) and he's trying to get them to understand that faith and love (circumcision of the heart, dealing with the soul) cones before circumcision of the flesh). The Pharisee believed that you needed to jump right in and do the fleshly things (follow Torah) but that comes AFTER a true heart change. As who had SOON as someone converted they wanted to do a circumcision and Sual is saying...hold on, let's make sure he has had a heart change and Loves God. Instead of jumping into everything in Acts 15:18 (new testament 😉) they gave converts who were usually coming from a very evil pagan background, 4 laws to follow immediately and those were:
      1. Abstain from food offered to Idols
      2. Don't eat blood
      3. Eat no animal that has been strangled (because than it's in its own blood)
      4. Abstain from sexual immorality. The Pharisees said, if these men are not circumcised they are not saved and Saul is telling them they have it backwards.
No where in the Bible does it say the Torah (God's instructions) was nailed to the cross.
It was OUR sin and what is sin? Sin is transgression of the law. What does transgression mean? It means the breaking of the law.
1 John 4:10 ...propopisition for OUR sins. Propopisition means, offered up. He was offered up for OUR SINS not for the Torah.
      Isiah 53:10-12
...wounded for OUR transgressions Crushed for OUR iniquities. His chastiment brought us peace.
Iniquities is the act of sin and again, what is sin?
      Colossians 2:14
...by canceling the record of debt that stood against us. What was the "debt" that stood against us? Was the Torah (God's instructions and Doctrine) the record of our debt or was the record of our debt the price we had to pay for not keeping the Torah? The price was usually death for sinning and breaking the Torah. It doesn't say the Torah was done away with but our debt of the Torah was done away with. Christ died so didn't have too.
      Romans 4:25
Who was delivered up for OUR trespasses. Trespasses is not the Torah but sin.
      Galatians 3:13
Christ redeemed us from the CURSE of the law.
What was the curse? It doesn't say following the Torah was curse. The consequence of breaking the Torah and being stoned to death was the curse. Christ died so we don't have to die for our sins any longer. And we are now under His grace for not being able to keep the Torah perfectly. So if we mess up instead of being stoned to death we are given grace. It never says to stop trying and working towards keeping God's instructions.
And yes, we should all follow the Torah. There's 600 some laws but not all apply to one person. So there is roughly 200 laws to follow and once you learn them, you'll be asking yourself why people say they are a bandage. They are not a bandage. The debt for not following them, that was the bandage.

It’s because faith without works is dead means you can tell someone’s faith isn’t genuine if they continue in unrepentant sin without remorse, that’s why James asks can such *faith* save them, because it’s real faith that saves, not dead faith. Works show real faith but it’s not the works that saves you. You need to take the whole counsel of God instead of reading the Bible with binoculars. Interpreting the Bible the way you do causes contradictions. In matthew 5 Christ says those who teach others to not do commandments will be lesser in the kingdom and those who teach other to do the commandments will be greater. If you preach a different gospel than that of Christ, then you error. Christ came to be the law, the very fullness of it and taught His deciples to do the same. I really believe when Jesus came He essentially doubled down on the law, making it not just physical laws for works but a spiritual law for the heart as well. Think about the sermon on the mount. He never disagreed or changed Torah. He EXPANDED on it. He was a perfect example of how to follow the law. Can we ever do it perfectly. No, of course not. But the harder I try to keep His laws the closer it draws me to Him, the more I learn about Christ’s sacrifice, the more I see how much of a sinner I am and how much I need His salvation.

Hebrews actually states emphatically that the law is changed by the changing of the Priesthood.

I would like to point out that someone in a thread said it was “too easy” to just have faith in Christ for salvation, otherwise everyone would do it, implying that you also need to work for it by keeping the Torah. Also implying that they’ve found the special favor necessary to be saved by putting in the hard work to keep the commandments. But that’s just it, not everyone believes, most people think they’re a good person. Unfortunately this line of thinking is the same reason some don’t accept Christ at all, because they can’t acknowledge that Christ already did it all for them, and not to mention all other religions require works so that you “hopefully” make it to heaven. How is Christ any different if he still required human works to supplement faith. As Paul said wages for work are what is due, not a gift.

Andrew and Cultish: The point about Mark 7 is that the Byzantine Text and TR have a neuter word, whereas most Critical Text versions follow a manuscript tradition that has a masculine word. There is in fact a textual variant there that has influenced translation. The KJV has "purging all meats," thus connecting Yeshua's statement to the elimination system, not to Yeshua himself doing the purifying.

I have watched the introductions as well and the first part. In the description is it stated that Nikki and Andrew have in-depth knowledge of the world of Hebrew Roots theology. But all I am hearing is examples of incidents that have nothing to do with the theology, but rather with people taking it too far (what I personally have experienced in traditional churches as well). I do hear so many times the statements 'You really can't'... It's totally impossible' ... I would advice you to really be careful how you phrase things. I do consider myself also Torah observant and I totally don't understand how this could be a burden as it is so enjoyable to try to listen to Gods voice.
I think the biggest misunderstanding of this movement is the TORAH vs GRACE, which is not the case, but 'Being under the (curse of the) law for breaking it vs being under grace when we break it'. Without the law there is no need for grace after all.
It would be have been a much more interested conversation if someone who is actually Torah observant was part of this conversation, and some things that are not understood could be explained. I do understand all of your answers as all the texts in Galatians and Romans are studied multiple times (at least by me when I first started to see like a 'Hebrew Roots person'.)
I am very excited about Gods Feasts and I am always looking forward to them. I do wear tsit-tsit, also to work, as I can't be more proud to show others that I belong to Yeshua. For this that it the most easy way to show others I love God. I compare this as well to wearing a wedding ring. Why wouldn't you wear it?
Am I keeping the torah perfectly? No, I am trying and I do that with love. When I do fail, I am catched by grace. No burden whatsoever. Is keeping the Torah earning me my salvation? Absolutely not.
Of course the law needs to be a tutor first as I need to understand it. Once I do I can apply it as Yeshua did. Same that I had to go to school first to learn how to talk and count and everything. Once I learned how to do that I could apply it in real life. I'm not in school anymore now under a tutor, but I still using the knowledge I have learned in school. As I keep learning more about the Torah, it will be written in my heart and I will try to apply it. In my opinion the Torah is Gods will and as I want to obey His voice I need to follow the torah. Of course the torah is pointing to God, because breaking it is sinning, sin and God can't be together.
As for the feasts I can maybe explain this by an example in movies. There is a sweet 16 party and everybody is going to the biggest and most popular party, but I am stuck having to go to my best friends party which almost nobody goes to. God asks us not to go the the parties of the world (X-mas and Easter is celebrated by the whole world), but God asks us to go to HIS parties (Pesach, Feast of Tabernacles, etc). Maybe not so popular in the world, but I care about who is throwing the party ... No though choice for me...
Anyway, Gods blessing for all of you. Hopefully you can maybe understand why some people do get so excited about the torah.

I have Hebrew Roots family. They accidentally turned me to Catholicism. Alot of railing against paganism that they do is because they don't really know what they are talking about. For example, a common complaint is "Argh! Catholics made up Easter to honor Ishtar and supplant Pesach!" But I looked into it and Catholics celebrate what? PASSOVER. Easter is a name used only in English speaking countries. Every other country calls it "Passover" in their tongue.

@@jimbus4096 I'm sorry to hear this made change your mind. For me the only valid argument to start celebrating His feasts is because He asks us to do it and for us to show His our love. Catholics (and almost all other Christian churches) do celebrate Easter and there are a lot of things very different between Easter and Passover. Easter is celebrated on the first SUNday after the spring equinox, while Passover starts on the 14th of Nisan at sundown. Easter remembers the ressurrection of Christ, while Passover remembers the death of Yeshua. Easter is just 1 day, while Passover is a festival that lasts 7 days, while during these days there is also a presentation pointing towards the presentation of Christ after the ressurrection. The reason I'm not celebrating Easter is because it is so closely connected with Capitalism and traditions that have nothing to do with the bible. While Passover is clean and nobody celebrates Passover but followers of Christ. So if your Catholic Church celebrates Passover on the 14th of Nisan, don't eat bread with yeast for 7 days, and remembers the death of Jesus, then yes, you are celebrating Passover.
So if you decide not to follow Jesus to celebrate His feast that is your decision, but think about your reasons why you would not follow Him in this.

I am going to begin with a verse that many Christians use today in churches that has become a trend, however is been used in a context that has nothing to do what the verse is actually trying to say.
    Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...
The worse thing about the use of this verse is that is totally incomplete.
How does the verse actually says?
    Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
There is a very if not the most important part on this verse that explains what knowledge is the prophet Hosea talking about "seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God" The children of Israel drove away from the knowledge of the law of God. We need to remind ourselves that Yeshua (Jesus) was a Jew, he was born a Jew, he was circumcised at the 8th day, he kept the Shabbat, and he celebrated the 7 Feasts of God written in Leviticus 23. When Jesus was preaching he did it to a Jewish multitude, therefore when he said I did not come to abolish the law he was referring to the law giving by God to Moses and the children of Israel, the Torah. To say that Jesus abolish the law (Torah) because he fulfilled it contradicts with what he said in the very same sentence "I did not come to abolish the law"
Now the questions is if the gentiles must obey the Law of God.
Ephesians 2: 11-13 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are GENTILES by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)- 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, EXCLUDE FROM THE CITIZENSHIP OF ISRAEL and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
When an immigrant managed to become a citizen of the United States does that person is abided to keep the Law and the Constitution of the land, or he must not because he was not born American? Of course that immigrant is abided to keep the law of the land, same thing happens when gentiles comes to Christ. Once a gentile comes to Christ he is no longer a gentile, because a gentile that in Hebrew means (goy) is a person without covenant, and without the Law of God, therefore that person becomes an Israelite. In Romans chapter 11 the apostle Paul explains that the Gentiles are now part of Israel and they must be abided by the Law (Torah) of God

Jesus referred to the synagogue of Satan as the Jews, and this wasn't the first time he identified the synagogue of Satan. Jesus in john chapter 8 surrounded by the Jews told them you are of your father the devil and says "he was a murderer from the beginning"
Jesus identified old covenant Israel as children of the devil, MURDERERS. So what's happening in Revelation 2 and 3? Those who say they were Jews were seeking to kill Christians, just like those who claimed to be the children of Abraham but in truth were the children of the devil were seeking to kill Jesus and would later kill his disciples. Now this comes into play particularly in Rev chap 12 in which we have Satan persecuting the seed of the man child, in other words the new covenant seed of Jesus. Now what this tells us in Rev chap 12 in regard to this persecution that we are not dealing with Roman persecution here at all, we are dealing with persecution brought against the body of Christ by those who say they are Jews but are not for they are liars they are the synagogue of Satan.
That is what the HRM follow, they are following in the foot steps of the Jews.

The main problem is that this movement grew out of futurism. If you understand that Jesus already returned and we are in the Little Season, then you understand that when He came everything was fulfilled. The TO people are waiting for Jesus to return to fulfill everything. If they took Jesus at His word where He said He was coming back in THAT generation.

An interesting point about "what is food?". But, if your interpretation is true then why, in the instance of Peter's vision, would Peter have said that he had never eaten anything unholy or unclean? It seems to me that Peter interpreted Torah that unclean animals were not to be eaten. Jesus apparently never corrected this practice, Peter was well after the generation that recieved the Torah through Moses, and the vision was only to communicate that we are not to call people unclean, not to imply that all animals are clean. I understand your point that food laws are changeable, but before the flood clean and unclean animals were distinguished from each other and there is not indication that after the command in exodus that unclean animals are forbidden to eat as evidenced that Peter was still practicing it after Jesus crucifixion without indication that he ever changed that practice throughout the new testiment.

Everyone who profanes it must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3], holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.“ (NASB)

(NASB)

Deuteronomy 27:26 “ ‘Cursed is anyone who does not fulfill the words of this Law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’ “ (NASB)
Matthew 5:18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away [Revelation 21], not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished!“ (NASB)

@@LightSeekers777 1 John 2:1-29 ESV - My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. I am writing to you, little children,
because your sins are forgiven for his name’s sake. I am writing to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I am writing to you, young men,
because you have overcome the evil one.
      I write to you, children,
because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
      because you are strong,
and the word of God abides in you,
and you have overcome the evil one. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that he made to us-eternal life. I write these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie-just as it has taught you, abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.

R.L. Solberg of the channel "Defending the Biblical Roots of Christianity" did a really good job of pointing out distinctions between the law of the old covenant in the law of the new.
For instance the fact that Yeshua became our high priest at all shows that there was a change to the law. The Levitical priesthood is no longer relevant because it was replaced by a higher order, that of Melchizedek.
And if the levitical priesthood is no longer in charge of the reconciliation, then all of the laws that were relevant to that priesthood have passed away.
The Mosaic Law has passed away. It has been replaced with the spirit of that law, which is in our God and our Savior Yeshua.

@@LightSeekers777 Again, I never said a Christian should desire to live a life of sin. And YES, when one is born again they will naturally desire to do what is pleasing to God. However, still believing and teaching that one needs to keep the 600+ laws that were GIVEN TO THE JEWS under the Old Covenant in order to be saved or to remain saved is an insult to The Lord Jesus Christ and the work that HE DID on the cross on our behalf. I don’t know what YOU personally believe, but every person I have ran across that believes in the Hebrew Roots movement has expressed that you MUST obey the ENTIRETY of the Torah TO BE SAVED. As a non Hebrew (by birth) Christian as I am, that is biblically inaccurate. Myself as a gentile believer was never even given the Mosaic Law to obey as a condition of salvation.
Next, The Apostle Paul was VERY CLEAR that you CAN NOT MIX LAW AND GRACE. In other words, DO NOT MIX THE MOSAIC COVENANT WITH THE NEW COVENANT. You are free to attempt to earn salvation through law keeping. It won’t work but go ahead and give it a shot. I choose to believe what God revealed to The Apostle Paul and then recorded in Scripture.
You said that you “had a revelation that Jesus is Torah”. I’m not really sure what you mean by that. However, nowhere in Scripture does it say that Jesus “is The Torah”. I will say this though, if your “revelation” contradicts Scripture then it is NOT of or from God.
Yes, Jesus kept the Torah as He was Jewish, but he isn’t “The Torah”. If you read through the New Testament you will find MANY examples of people attempting to reinsert or mix Jewish laws and or customs back into the New Covenant. This was always met with a stern rebuke from The Apostles. The entire book of Hebrews addresses this. Not to mention parts of Romans, Corinthians, Ephesians, Galatians, Colossians, 1 John……..
As Ecclesiastes says, there is nothing new under the sun. People were attempting to corrupt the gospel back then and they continue to do so now.
The Apostle Paul records in Galatians….
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
      ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1:6-9
Accursed! Those are pretty strong words.
The Hebrew Roots movement absolutely preaches a different gospel. Say otherwise if you want but it does.
To answer your final question. Yes, Jesus would recognize me, and I would recognize Him being that I belong to Him and His Spirit indwells me and has sealed me until the day of redemption. Of course I wouldn’t tell Jesus to “keep trying to earn it”. He DID earn it. He was the ONLY one who could. That doesn’t in any way change what The Bible says when read in the proper context nor does it change the gospel.
“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
      ‭‭
      John‬ ‭6:28-29‬ ‭
There is only ONE way to be saved. By Faith alone in Jesus Christ alone according to The Scriptures alone, to the Glory of God alone.
That’s the truth. Im sorry that you can’t see that beautiful truth. I pray you do someday.
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

This is NOT the Reformed Baptist view of the Sabbath! The 1689 is clear about it. If you are anti-sabbatarian you are not a Reformed Baptist, you are just a Calvinistic Baptist. Hebrews 3-4 is about eschatology (land of Canaan=new heavens new earth) and Jesus finishing His work just as God did in the 6 creation days and resting on the 7th. When Jesus rose from the grave He sat down at the right hand of the Father. The whole book of Hebrews is a sermon about psalm 110, and the new creation!
We can not try to relate God working for 6 days and resting on the 7th, to a person resting from trying to earn their salvation. It’s just not there. That text is about Jesus! The One who has entered His rest is Jesus (Heb 4:10). Verses 12-15 are also talking about Jesus!

Yea the gospels where written in greek, bascially for greek speaking peoples to spread the good news. There were also gospels written in hebrew as well for the hebrew/aramaic speakers. Look up gospel of the Hebrews, and gospel of the Nazarenes.
Prior to the written gospels, the apostles/disciples were going out preaching and sharing the good news. In Judea where the gospel was First preached, they were speaking hebrew and aramaic. You see Yahusha(Jesus) speaking aramaic even in the greek gospels (Matthew 27:46 is an example), so pretty sure they were referring to each other by there true hebrew names in there language and not the later transliterated greek ones. If interested we can discuss further.
