While I understand that you have to make job offers enticing for new hires, I don't think it's fair to pay new hires more than senior ones. If I worked at a company for years and I found out that a new person I trained was making more, I'd be asking questions.
All of those places that told me not to discuss my wages, and I had no idea that it was illegal for them to ask that of me.
