I own Complete now for quite a time and never dared to dive into that beast, called Reaktor. Recently I did and this little video gave me a real kickstart. By now (3 months later) I am able to create EVERY sound I want and even more. Some stuff was beyond my imagination, so I just experimented. Now I have a huge library full of beautifully weird sounds for my ambient/ethnotronic project. BIG thanks for making me better at what I do :)
I feel like the original sample seems irrelevant here, we're just getting oscillator sweeps into delay and reverb... Which is fine, but doesn't really make much of Form specifically, and could be done with a simpler synth.
A lot of viewers don’t really understand the relevance of the motion curves applied to a sample. Today, they call this granular synthesis. Form was way ahead of it’s time, but few ever dig into how it works or grasp the features that add oscillators, noise and modulation. Too bad. 😢
I need help... I have downloaded some one shot synth samples from splice.. they are very good quality.. when I import them into form and use them as a sample.. why does the quality of the sound go down.. like compared to when I play the one shot without form its crisp.. then when I bring it into form.. it looses some quality.. anyone know why?
Maybe you're perceiving the granular effect as quality reduction? Or maybe there's an option in its settings that lets you change the audio playback quality?
How do you even install it? Can't find anything online for installing it except to download Native access and install FORM, but its not a plugin and doesn't exist as a app
Time limit, that should be about it. That's standard with audio creation software. Although in some cases, they give somewhat limited functionality without a time limit; two examples that come to mind are the free Melda plugins and Vital.
For some reason when I use Native Instruments through Kontakt Komplete or Kontakt the volume of instruments is SOOOOOO loud that it blows the speakers. I can set each one and save it but it takes hours. Is there a universal setting for volume where you can set the volume and save the setting for Kontakt and Kontakt Komplete, etc?
I would just reinstall personally. That's a very strange issue that I've never had. Closest thing is that Monark is pretty loud by default when I start it up, but not *that* loud.
can you please update form with a function that I can use my samples without form manipulating the sound of it? Or does anybody have a plugin that has the same control as form but is a sampler?
Isn't that how it works by default? If you have it play linearly and don't affect the knobs, it should play the sample back raw, no? It has the level of control it has *because* it's a granular sampler. Your question/request seems paradoxical to me. If you have Form and want that level of granular control, use Form. If you don't and/or just want a simple sample playback module, use whatever comes with your DAW or find a freeware alternative.
@@mikeexits Form analyzes every sample you will load in and puts a pitch correction on top of it, so every grain will be forced in the same pitch. So no, it won't either work by default, nor does the deform function, which is implemented exactly for this scenario, work correctly. And no, Form isn't a granular sampler, but a granular synthesizer, as otherwise this sampler function would work and no AI - pitch correction would be needed. And for what of "level of granular control" are you talking about? As I mentioned in my request, I just want to use form as a sampler, not a synth, because the overall handling/control/UX in this one is flawless and I didn't find an alternative that would be satisfying to this date, so you can keep your "use whatever comes with your DAW", as I asked for an alternative above and not an opinion from one that didn't understand my simple request.
@@bonjonbovi- I said you can use what comes in your daw, or a freeware plugin. I'm not trying to be a dick here, some people genuinely don't know that they might already have what they need; DAWs tend to be really powerful and extensive. Aside from that, there are plenty of plugins of any kind out there. I would web search "freeware granular sampler VST" And jeez, no need to get harsh, I was just confused by your comment. I have Form but haven't tried it yet, so I didn't know it would do that to every sample by default. And I said "level of control" because you asked for plugins with "the same control as Form." I don't know any specific plugins that fit your criteria so I was just trying to get a bit of clarification so someone else who finds this later can help you more easily. I'm just trying to respond sincerely. It's been a year since you asked and you didn't get a single reply, so my empathy lead me to try to help in whatever small way I can, since nobody else bothered to put in the effort. Sorry if I offended you I guess.
@@bonjonbovi- you’re asking for ni to update a granular synth to become a sampler.what a stupid request.there are probably thousands of samplers out there and hundreds of great ones.
Why is no one interested in producing Atmospheric Sound Effects ? Cant find from anywhere. I hope Native Instruments will consider to produce some natural sounds coz it's very important for film making. Now we have to create such sounds at home. [ its crappy and consumes too much time]
3rd party Kontakt libraries rock for this, no? As a last resort, grab a Hydrasynth, Wavestate, modwave, or Argon8m and use their Radomize feature until you get an atmospheric FX, lol but yeah, sound design is time consuming, and a little impractical if you work in film and what not

This message is heartwarming ❤️
very powerful just need reminder that this wonderful plugin exist from time to time
My fav instrument of all time..
The comment section here is a mess, good work, awesome narration and presentation. Thank you

Audioneiromancer 100% what I thought after watching
Yeah I agree, form is immensely powerful but this video is just intended to scratch the surface I think.
Audioneiromancer still good vid never the less

still absolute top notch, blinksonic´s cataliz and FORM.
You guys should get the guy from The Sound Test Room to review all your plugins/ensembles
hell yeah! just got my komplete 11 last thursday and will explore form it even further
FORM Is The ISH!!!
I saw what you did there.

It an .ens file that you can open with the full version of Reaktor. Hope that helps.
I've downloaded the demo version of Form. Not sure about limitations if any
